kwightarmstrong Eek, the new @myWildbird mini ring slings are soo adorable! There's a giveaway today for the launch too!
I sure would love for our Little to have one for her animals. I'm probably not eligible to win, and it's not quite in our budget right now, but if you want to get me a Mother's Day present, feel free to enter for me!

kwightarmstrong For the Wildbird S/S '16 Launch Day!
Did you see all the new beauties?
Don't forget to color tag your pretty birds, to share them in action (there's a tag for every one, even if not shown). It's especially fun to see all of one color sling at a time when you're shopping colors.

Also join the really fun group of other Wildbird parents at Facebook.com/groups/WildbirdChitChat
Happy Tagging. :) @MyWildbird

kwightarmstrong Just thought I'd repost this for my Texas Independence Day contribution.
Can't believe she was so little a year ago! This week alone she has specially gained so much personality and looks like such a little girl with all her beautiful thick curls instead of just baby fuzz.
Aw...sigh

kwightarmstrong So my Husband kinda looks like Ryan Gosling; and now, apparently, I believe he also looks like [the newly bearded] John Krasinski.

kwightarmstrong Because I enjoy Norse mythology I was interested in this book upon seeing it (while Little One played with all the animal puppets at the bookstore). I found that it's main character shares her name with our dog Freya! Obviously ours is named after the mythological Asgardian. While the story has Loki, Odin, etc., it seems its protagonist is not *the* legendary Freya, but still thought it was neat. I'd read it.

  •   kwightarmstrong She was begging to get out, after a couple of rainy days, so we had to take another packing break. 3mon
  •   kwightarmstrong It bothers my, unreasonably, that a silly cat and horse have now taken over using our dog's hashtag. 3mon

kwightarmstrong Gotta pause for story time when the girl brings you a book and asks to sit in your lap. 3mon

kwightarmstrong Tiny playpen. She wanted in and won't let me take her out. ...I guess I'll just start packing a different box.

kwightarmstrong It's maybe not the prettiest picture, but it's beautiful to me. I'm staring out our big window to this view, our quiet 'country' house sitting at the edge of wild fields and woods and a river, while she sleeps next to me. I've so enjoyed the hours of bird watching, learning about the local fauna that passes through these trees, watching the colorful season changes among the leaves, watching the big sky with its many looks from tumultuous storms to sparkling celestial lights. The yard is full of life, like baby rabbits, strawberries, cucumber vines, and frogs. It's peaceful here, quiet and beautiful among the natural world The Lord surrounded it with.
This is the first house we ever made our home. The only home our first dog and daughter have ever known. There's plenty wrong with it and in the beginning I complained too much about being stuck in Arkansas and not home in Texas. But so, so much of me has completely changed and grown in the short life I've lived as a mother, since her birth. I know so much more about myself, who I am, what I want, and what I need. For myself and for my family.
I'm here in this place for just days more, packing it up alone while my soulmate searches for our next home, two states away.
I'm having such a difficult time with this. It's hard because I know I'm not supposed to. It's ungrateful. I'm "getting what I wanted," moving back to Dallas. Except it's not really what I want any more and hasn't been for some time. I'm so pleased and proud and excited that my Husband found such a great new opportunity there. And I'll be in a state I love, closer to a lot of people I love. But we'll be nowhere close to anything like this little house quietly nestled in the suburban countryside, or any other even more desirable setting. It will likely be a very urban, busy apartment. I grieve a little for what her next year will look like in the city. I know my Father loves us, and knows my heart, He built it for such desires, He has good things in mind for us. But I'm still scared. He commands me not to be, to trust in Him. So I will. And while I wait for His next answers I plead to Him, to give me the right spirit. .....

  •   kwightarmstrong ... To not let me lose joy, to help me be content and not stop seeing Beauty wherever He puts us. A mantra I've been working on for awhile; training the eyes of my heart to see in a new way. To see the potential and real beauty around me if even it's not first obvious. So these are the hard things in my heart right now. And I will keep trusting and looking and loving. 3mon
  •   nyssaisabel Aw you will be in my prayers during this transition. We just moved from San Angelo TX to CA but our homes are on the East Coast. I know well having to change course and seek the beauty where I'm at. Wishing you peace! 3mon
  •   janbodan It is bittersweet. I am excited for your next chapter and hope it gives Andrew more time at home. 3mon

kwightarmstrong Here is the nature-inspired design set of my hand-painted, skid-resistant socks for the little feet of our little girl. (See previous post for the luxe set.)

These designs are just free-hand, first attempts; kinda rough since I didn't pre-draw them/thumbnail or really think them through before just doodling and seeing what came out. I think I'd like to especially refine the feather design a little better.

What do you think, would you like custom, hand-painted, no-skid socks for your little (or big)?

kwightarmstrong Made some custom, no-skid socks for our baby girl today. Our house is mainly slippery, hard floors, and far too few of her socks have skid-resistant padding. 'Bought a big bag of these cheap socks so she'll have plenty! Plus, fun craft project for mom.
Next step is to activate the puff paint so it's that puffy foam texture. But as-is would work too if I don't get around to that step.

kwightarmstrong So, unfortunate family news, the company Andrew worked for had to lay off some employees and Andrew was one of those let go. So if you hear of any good openings or income ideas anywhere please let me know! We're happy to move, too.
We both have backgrounds in video production, he's been managing teams and crews, and producing video for 13+ years, and is a strategic thinker, hard worker, and very kind-hearted.
I'm also a maker of things from almost any creative medium, a graphic/set designer, and am open to some work too, if I can do it while closely mothering our 14mo daughter.
We've got a ton of private school student loans so we'll need to get working again as soon as possible.
I had recently been praying that he be able to stay home more (what with all the travel) and/or get to work on something The Lord has really given him a passion and talent for. 'Looks like the first part was granted, and I'm rejoicing that he doesn't have to travel so much now. 'Hoping God will show us an answer for that second half soon though too!
So obviously prayers are also very welcome here.
Thanks, Y'all.
