•   andthebeast I've actually seen plenty of sweet shit, but I've become so lax with Instagram that I've forgotten to photograph it! I really should get back to it before that gloomy grey come back permanently. Going away anywhere picturesque this summer? 3y
  •   kup_o We're going down to Portland for a days before heading back up to Seattle for PAX. I'm sure I'll be able to shoot a few happy snaps along the way. How about you? Got any plans to check out some more of Europe? 3y
  •   kup_o God dammit, I always forget to tag in comments @andthebeast 3y
  •   andthebeast Nice! I bet there will be heaps of sweet shit at PAX. I haven't made any concrete plans for extra travel yet, but by gum I'll be all over it now that I'm settled! 3y

  •   richjaybitch All ur shots are unbelievable @kup_o! Been a while tho. Got more to come?? 3y
  •   kup_o @richjaybitch Thanks a lot Rich! Appreciate it. Yeah, I know it's been a while. The weather here in Vancouver during this half of the year is miserable, which doesn't make for great photos. I imagine London's the same. You're still there, right? 3y

  •   kup_o @vanisle_sailor Oh, you're from the Island! This was taken just as I was flying into YVR. 3y
  •   vanisle_sailor oh, you're from Oz! :). The islands as a whole are referred to as the Gulf Islands, and the whole area as the Banana Belt of Canada. 3y
  •   vanisle_sailor Banana belt doesn't include Vancouver, sorry, too much rain :). 3y
  •   kup_o @vanisle_sailor Oh, ok. I've wondered what they were called. Such a beautiful part of the world. 3y

kup_o These Rainbow Lorikeets (or Lories as they're known locally) are a small species of Parrot common throughout much of Australasia and South-East Asia. They use their unusual brush-tipped tongues to feed mostly on nectar, pollen and small berries. 4y

kup_o The Australian Water Dragon is a fairly common sight along the eastern coast of Australia, although they're usually quite shy. The ones at the wildlife sanctuary were very accustomed to people and this big male let me get very close. They are quite large with males growing up to a meter long. As their name suggests they can usually be found near creeks and ponds. They are very strong swimmers and can stay submerged for up to 90 minutes. 4y
  •   andthebeast Haha I'm loving your random facts lately :) 4y
  •   kup_o Thanks man! Glad you're enjoying them ;) A couple of the people I follow do it and I really like it. Plus I realised most of the people following me aren't from Aus, so I thought they might find it interesting :) 4y
  •   kup_o Ugh I always forget to do the @andthebeast when I reply to comments. Do you get a notification if I don't? 4y
  •   andthebeast Nah I don't, which is annoying in some ways but I understand why they've done it that way! And yeah, the added info with each shot is a good idea, I might have to start doing it too! 4y

kup_o This is one of the many koalas housed at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. Most are brought in by the public after being hit by cars. Although they are quite nimble in the tree tops, they move slowly along the ground and have poor eyesight which unfortunately results in many accidents. Like all marsupials, the females have a pouch for their young, though like it's closest relative, the wombat, the koala's faces backwards. This is to stop the baby koala getting knocked in the head while the mother is climbing. 4y

kup_o Yesterday, my girlfriend and I went to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, a popular tourist attraction on the Gold Coast housing many native Australian animals. Get ready for a few of them ;) Here is a Red Kangaroo with her joey. The Red Kangaroo is the largest marsupial on earth with males reaching up to 2m tall. The joey will stay in the mother's pouch for about 12 months, leaving occasionally for a wander near the mother. 4y

kup_o A group of friends and I spent the week in Byron Bay in northern New South Wales. It's a great little hippie town popular with backpackers. •   kup_o There's a free app called Squaready that makes it white instead of black. Also, I like to put a simple rounded frame on it in Camera+ before I send it to Squaready ;) 4y
  •   darksideofhere I have this exact same picture as my computer desktop. I love Byron Bay, such a tranquil place. 4y
  •   kup_o @darksideofhere Haha, cool! Yeah, definitely an awesome place. Such a great vibe. 4y

kup_o A small #creek running through the sub-tropical #rainforest of the Gold Coast hinterland. This will likely end up in Hinze Dam which supplies water to the Gold Coast. 4y

kup_o I took my girlfriend for a walk the other day through the sub-tropical #rainforest of the Gold Coast hinterland to see this formation known as Natural Bridge. It's essentially a #cave under a #waterfall which has carved a hole through the roof. Glow worms and a small endangered species of bat can be seen here at night for those brave enough to do the walk in the dark. 4y
