knitterbird Most days I like my daily commute, some days I enjoy it, but then occasionally, just occasionally it stops me in my tracks and leaves me speechless. 6d

knitterbird It took a 4 mile walk, sub-zero temperatures, clambering halfway through a hedge, at least 2 thorn related injuries (& a tetanus jab) to get this shot... but you know what, I think it was worth it! #anythingforthegram 1mon

knitterbird The halo effect! .
I've been away for a while - partly life being hectic and partly by phone lens leaking light & generally making for a very frustrated bird! But occasionally you see a shot where you say "sod the lens", you've just got to get the shot!

knitterbird #hihaveyoumet @djdumpling? .

I was looking at this shot thinking that there must be some pithy title to sum up Justin, in the middle of the Greenwich foot tunnel, with the biggest piece of black fabric billowing up over his head. To sum up the kind of guy who is so dedicated to great photography, that he will travel half way around the world with swathes of fabric & a massive panda head to get some great shots. .

So if you think of that pithy title, let me know?

knitterbird Ready for lift off! .
Today the Gingerninja and I spent most of the day with the lovely @djdumpling and @robmuch, getting to run round the various tube stations, tunnels and places that serve MASSIVE portions of food. My photo mojo decided to bugger off for a while but fingers crossed it might be just around the corner! .
If you don't know them already, head over & visit Justin & Rob's feed.

knitterbird Potential. .I'm lucky enough to work in the arts and while I adore all the exhibitions and the amazing work I get to see, there's just something so special about an empty gallery, a pause with all the potential of the next exhibition, or maybe just a chance to draw breath before the space gives itself over to new artists. 4mon
  •   leosirco Great! #leosircosymmetry 4mon
  •   andrewdpmm Lovely!! Thanks for sharing it. Some spaces are surely worth everyone having the chance just to be in them empty from time to time..? 4mon

  •   londonbird My best one isn't a gallery but in the winter before the tourist come in I love to sit in the theatre and the rain drips off the roof and it's totally silent and remember it full with people in the summer watching plays and laughing (or fainting !) 4mon

knitterbird Still life..... despite everything. This is Caroline Gardens Chapel, or at least what's left of it. Sitting opposite a huge Toys'R'Us, just off the "gritty" Old Kent Road, you'd never know this place existed. .It's set in the heart of an oasis of calm and surrounded by almshouses originally built for retired brewers & publicans. The houses are still live in but the poor chapel was abandoned before the war, bombed during it and apart from a metal roof being added, just left slowly decaying. .Now it's an arts and wedding venue and life is being breathed slowly back in this place so quiet & dignified.... so beautiful that I didn't want to spoil it with any editing. 4mon

  •   knitterbird @andrewdpmm The Lord Nelson sounds pretty good! I heard the bridge alarm sound just as I was at the door to City Hall so you can imagine my mad dash to get up to the roof in time! 4mon
  •   knitterbird @bernieregis @ig_london thank you both very much. 4mon
  •   andrewdpmm Well done, certainly worth it, great photo! My view was basically a lovley water level perspective, but entirely obscures by rigging!! 4mon
