kimchimom Seasoned shredded dried squid aka ojingeochae muchim (오징어채 무침)...one of my favorite banchan. I now have a pound of it in the fridge. Should last me for about a month! #ontheblog #sundaysupper #koreanfood #spicy #seafood 3d
  •   wimpyvegetarian I've never seen this - but it looks so inviting. LOVE. 2d
  •   ctschiffer What kind of rice is that? Do you live your new rice cooker? 2d
  •   kimchimom @weekendgourmet it smells similarly to salt cod, but not as fishy and certainly not as salty. The texture may turn off some...very chewy, like jerky. 2d
  •   kimchimom @reneedobbs LOL! I hope you give it a try! unseasoned, squid is a popular snack to have with drinks. Slightly salty and texture like jerky it goes awesomely with ice cold beer. I prefer it seasoned and spicy!! :-) 2d
  •   kimchimom @ctschiffer very astute of you to notice! I've been using Tamaki's Haiga rice. So good! Look it up...a bit more expensive but supposedly more nutritional than white rice. My kids love rice so I feel better serving Haiga versus white. Try it! BTW, I absolutely love my new rice cooker! D refuses to let me keep the rice cooker on warm overnight. 2d
  •   ctschiffer I knew it was haiga! I only asked bC it looks like our rice. My boys have been eating only haiga since they learned how to eat solid foods. I pay $35 for 15# 2d
  •   ctschiffer I leave on the rice cooker on warm for days!!! 2d
  •   noshingwiththenolands Would love to try this!! 2d

kimchimom Had to try it. I was expecting it to be super sweet, but the marinade wasn't bad. The only "beef" I had with it was the thickness of the slices - way too thick and chunky giving my jaw a workout. Bulgogi typically uses very thin slices for quick cooking/grilling with no need for a knife. #koreanfood 1mon
  •   jbeachwalker Have you tried their frozen Korean style ribs? Pretty good!! 1mon
  •   kimchimom @jbeachwalker I've heard about them. Looked for them today, but didn't know to look in the frozen section! 1mon
  •   lawyerloveslunch I love their crane asada so I'll give this a try too :) 1mon
  •   chicagoagashi They used to have frozen kimchi fried rice that was from korea 1mon
  •   birdabee Any tips on cutting proper bulgogi slices on your own? Korean markets are a schlep and the local butchers can't do it right. 1mon
  •   kimchimom @birdabee I usually put the beef (ribeye preferred) in the freezer for about 30 minutes (more if necessary) and then get a sharp knife and slice away. Much easier to get thin slices this way. 1mon
