katya_d A couple of loaves of sourdough, one to keep and one for a friend. Is it wrong if I keep the larger one for us? 1h

katya_d Peanut butter muesli slice 2d
  •   eggweena From your new peanut butter book? 2d
  •   katya_d @eggweena actually no, from the booklet that came with the dehydrator I got for Christmas! 2d
  •   donnagow Yes pls 2d
  •   yamilag Can you show me the dehydrator? Is it good? My mum wants one and so my dad built her a solar one. Did not know you could do Muslie nut bars on it. My mum dehydrates veggies and fruit. 24h
  •   katya_d Ours is a Sunbeam. It's electric and pretty noisy. Plus most things take about 8 hours so a solar one would be good - didn't know they made them! 23h

katya_d I always find there's a fine line with potato salad between the potato being cooked just right and too cooked so the skins fall off and they fall apart when the dressing is mixed through 2d
  •   mariefwhiting I do a Jamie Oliver one with Spanish onions/capers/lemon juice/olive oil/salt & pepper & celery heart. Sublime! You throw in all the ingredients when potatoes are still quite hot & the flavours infuse like heaven! Does heaven infuse? Oh well, does now! Anyhoo - serve warm or cold 2d
  •   katya_d @mariefwhiting I very much like the thought of heaven infusing. And that recipe sounds really good. Similar to one an Italian friend gave me which was olive oil, salt, crushed garlic and finely grated Parmesan 2d
  •   mariefwhiting Jamie probably stole it from her! He does adore all things Italian! 2d
  •   katya_d Heh! @mariefwhiting 2d

katya_d On Sunday I was bitten by a spider, and yesterday my doctor gave me this cream to put on. Fatty ointment sounds pretty unappealing 2d
  •   injera Eek! Hope it heals quickly. 2d
  •   julesgentle I hope you're ok and it works!! 2d
  •   yamilag Hope you feel better! 2d
  •   s_hw79 Wow I have never seen this in my entire pharmacist career ! 2d
  •   kerriegrant My nostalgia only extends to Sydney, not its spiders - still remember a surprise encounter with a big male funnel web in our house!! We have a cousin to the redneck - black widows - in the southern USA. 2d
  •   katya_d @s_hw79 maybe it's Miquelon to Australia?! 2d
  •   thedeliplatter It's an oily form of corticosteroid 13h
  •   katya_d @thedeliplatter aha! Well it works an absolute treat 6h

katya_d Char grilling capsicums for tonight's pasta sauce. No filter, they really *were* this brightly coloured 4d
  •   epicured Yuuuuuuuum 4d
  •   everydaycook I must try this way. Do you pull the skin off afterwards.? Do you put them in a plastic bag? 4d
  •   imeldak Beautiful 4d
  •   katya_d @everydaycook Yep, when they're blackened I put them in a plastic bag for 5-10 minutes and the skin peels right away. Sometimes it sticks around the edges but they can just be trimmed off. Very easy and so yum! 4d
  •   katya_d @imeldak @epicured Thanks :-) 4d
  •   everydaycook I do everything the same except I put the whole capsicum in the oven. Xx my Italian in laws taught me. I put them in a jar and marinade them 4d
  •   donnagow Wow! 4d

  •   katya_d @mariefwhiting my middle name is Maree - but double ee not ie 6d
  •   mariefwhiting My name is pronounced Marie as in Marie Antoinette - no ee sound. Mind you, everyone pronounces it Maree. Mine is the French pronunciation that no one gets right! Cause we're not French! Thanks mum & dad . I was named after my dads sister who died just before I was born. 6d

katya_d Well that was so appalling we couldn't finish it 7d
  •   katya_d @thimbleandpurl spectacularly ghastly perhaps? 7d
  •   thimbleandpurl @katya_d can't be as bad as Battleship which I'm watching now. 7d
  •   mattdevine We just watched My Gay Wedding The Musical, recorded from ABC - still crying.....! 7d
  •   katya_d @thimbleandpurl I've heard that's pretty average. We turned off the film and are now watching Survivor. We've enjoyed the first 2 minutes more than the whole rest of the film. 7d
  •   thimbleandpurl @katya_d it's very average. Would prefer to watch survivor but D is in his office so I'll wait till tomorrow. 7d
  •   katya_d @thimbleandpurl we LOVED the first ep of this season! Hurry up next Thursday for the next one! 7d
  •   thimbleandpurl @katya_d ooo we were a bit unsure about this seasons premise but I'm intrigued now! 6d
  •   katya_d @thimbleandpurl we've lost interest with the last few seasons, but this one looks like a cracker, some very interesting personalities in there! 6d
