karrie_pavish_anderson Cooling down for a few minutes inside from the awesome 93F heat outside (in direct sun). I couldn't be happier with this perfect Galena weather. Heading back out soon into the breeze & blue skies #heaven #bugless 3d

karrie_pavish_anderson What a GORGEOUS day in Galena! Hot with a slight breeze, clear skies, and importantly, little to no biting bugs in sight #Yukon #summerwalks #gatheringmerch #Galenalove 4d

karrie_pavish_anderson Sometimes we catch a glimpse of wildlife out our back window. This is the first time I've seen this rare breed meandering through... #actor #artistsworkhard #AlaskaBred #dontfeedthebears #feedtheartists 6d

karrie_pavish_anderson I told Shekinah to go find a stick; this is what she brought. And this size is after half of it snapped off as she bolted toward me... #fetch #merchgatheringtrip 6d

  •   saccheus Wow 1w
  •   saccheus Thank you 1w
  •   karrie_pavish_anderson @saccheus Big John was part of our Galena family- love him so much. We were honored that the family chose to have the plane refuel in Galena so we could have a short memorial service. People boated from Koyukuk for it too. Many gathered to pay respects. 1w
  •   saccheus There are no words one can find, as his friend and relative I thank you all for all you have done and for being there for him. We were able to make it to his memorial in Fai but will miss laying him to rest. He touched a lot of people and will be missed. 1w
  •   karrie_pavish_anderson Our prayers are with you 1w

karrie_pavish_anderson Heavy, heavy day.
It seemed right to walk to the river at 11pm to process the loss of two former students who passed late last night. The one I was closest to, John, was a new husband & father, and one of the most noble young men I've known. He respected people & the land, stood up for the marginalized, helped anyone at the drop of a hat, and had a strong moral compass. John had contagious joy. He loved without restrictions. I was his wrestling coach & was in awe of his leadership & strength as a teen. And yes, he could take me down easily, as if I was a feather haha! I have so many questions. I'm heartbroken. And I'm angry. How could someone gun down such a good young man. I want answers but I know I won't get many. What I do know is that my life is richer for knowing Big John. #RuralAlaskaFamilyWeeps
