julie_gibbs LUCKY... That's me. To have had the privilege of an amazing 21 year career at @penguinbooksaus and the last 11 years as the keeper of the flame at @lanternbooks. At the end of the year I will be released into the universe to see what else is in store. Scary, yes. But I am so lucky to be buoyed up by a wide community of outstandingly caring creative dynamic loving people. You all know who you are. Heartfelt thanks. Especially you @megan_morton for knowing that a LUCKY sweatshirt from the perennially amusing @rachelcastleandthings would make me smile oh so wide. 2w

  •   paris_scribe I've just read about the changes at Lantern Books - hard to believe. I would buy a Lantern book with my eyes closed. Your vision and your guiding and nurturing qualities have resulted in the production of fabulous and inspiring books. You are about to step into your future. Can't wait to see what magnificent things it holds for you. For everything a reason and a season. The best is yet to come! xxx 1w

  •   corrie_perkin This is tragic news for booksellers and cookbook lovers. Lantern produces - consistently - world-best publications. Its books have a distinctive Australian look and feel. Who is left to promote our local culinary identity? Bad decision, RandomPenguins 1w
  •   jimmieg2 Oh my! 1w
  •   growcookeat You have been my cook's companion. We still have roads to travel! 7d
  •   wholesomecook @julie_gibbs hi Julie! I just heard the news... Wishing you all the best for the future, having met you once briefly, I'm confident that with your enthusiasm and passion you'll do an exceptional job at whatever you put your heart and soul into next. 2d

julie_gibbs #book_chat A classic that I have read more than once: Richard Ford's Frank Bascombe series has been a rewarding reading journey over the last 25 years. This copy of the first book, The Sportswriter, was inscribed to me by the author at Adelaide Writers' Festival in 2000. I know I will read all these books again one day in one long sitting... @book_chat @kimpearsoninteriordesigner 4w

julie_gibbs I found pumpkin nirvana this morning at The Nomadic Kitchen stall at the New Brighton market. Tom cooks beautiful Sicilian food - our breakfast was delicious stewed green beans with fried eggs and a pumpkin bruschetta. The large pumpkin was halved horizontally, roasted with garlic, bay, thyme and chilli then folded with feta and greens. 2mon
