journeyofnow When I look at these rocks, I just don't see the the forms themselves, but seeing past that I realize at the fundamental level it's nothing but empty space.

If we could magnify the simplest hydrogen atom to the size of the earth, then the nucleus (a proton) would only be about the size of a basketball. It would be at the very center of the earth and that lonely electron would be found somewhere out in earth's atmosphere. All of the space in between the electron and the basketball-size nucleus is empty!

You might be thinking if this is empty space why if I touch the rock it feels solid. Let me explain. In the 'classical' view, atoms are mostly empty space and the reason they feel solid is that if you try and push them, the electrons around your atoms bump into the electrons around the other atoms and because they're both negative they repel each other and push away. You feel this force as 'solid'. It's like pushing a really, really stiff spring or trying to force 2 magnets together, except it's electronic in origin.

journeyofnow People ask, "is meditation necessary?" If you want to explore the innermost parts of your mind and ascertain who you really are, there is no more ideal method. Mere introspection is not deep enough and psychological counseling may not necessarily bring you face-to-face with all parts of yourself. Only the depth and solitude of meditation can help you learn everything. Discoveries are there we need only enter the mind to find them. ~ Ming-Dao Deng 2w

journeyofnow Waves are the voices of tides. Tides are life," murmured Niko. "They bring new food for shore creatures, and take ships out to sea. They are the ocean's pulse, and our own heartbeat.

journeyofnow { Communication }
I was reading a book for my club called 7 ways to be a hero ( good book for guys ). There was a tiny section around levels of communication which peeked my interest, so I wanted to learn more.
In general communication can be broken down into 5 levels which are.
Level 5: Small Talk.
Level 4: Factual Conversation
Level 3: Ideas and Opinions.
Level 2: Feelings and Emotions.
Level 1: Deep Insight.

In life the people that are closest to you often communicate on the feelings and emotions level. In that level you should be able to express yourself and share what's in your heart and mind. Once communicating on a consistent basis, over time you are able to get to deep insight which is only achieved through the subsequence levels.
There are times when you meet someone where you just share facts with. They are guarded and do not open up for any number of reasons. Could be fear, maybe they do not want to be judged, or they fear being hurt. Or maybe they are just trying to be manly. Then you run in people that have an open heart and mind and are comfortable sharing their feelings and emotions. Those are the people I most enjoy meeting and spending time with, those are the people that become good friends.
Take a moment today to take stock of where your relationships are with coworkers, friends, family, and loved ones. See what brought you close to that person and see how your communication with them changes over time.

journeyofnow More than anything, he wanted to return to the house with the same look of peace that he'd seen on Pastor Harris's face, but he trudged through the sand, he couldn't help feeling like an amateur, someone searching for God's truths like a child searching for seashells.

journeyofnow I have so many emotions going on when it comes to the Michael Brown shooting in Ferguson. I mostly feel a profound sadness with moments of anger. As a strong and loving man raising two boys to be men, I will have to have a conversation with them on how to act around police. I watched a video last year by a poet Javon Johnson, that nearly had me in tears, because this is a reality that my sons at some point will have to face. If you have a moment please listen, by clicking on my profile. It will give you a new perspective. 1mon

journeyofnow She worked her toes into the sand, feeling the tiny delicious pain of the friction of tiny chips of silicon against the tender flesh between her toes. That's life. It hurts, it's dirty, and it feels very, very good. ~ Orson Scott Card 1mon

journeyofnow When anxious, uneasy and bad thoughts come, I go to the sea, and the sea drowns them out with its great wide sounds, cleanses me with its noise, and imposes a rhythm upon everything in me that is bewildered and confused. ~ Rainer Maria Rilke 1mon

journeyofnow Without a little madness I wouldn't be able I feel. And if I can't feel then I'll lose my mind. And if I'll lose my mind I'll lose my words. This is how I love, madly enough to lose myself and feel all the things I can't put into words. ~ R.M Drake 1mon

journeyofnow Maybe I'm a rock set in my ways and unmoving. Maybe I'm a rock sitting alone an isolated ego that is stooped in my own fears and ignorance.

I think not, I'm the ocean vast and forever changing. I am beautiful one of natures crown Jewel's. In my majesty I carry life and nourishment, I supply the very basic needs for survival. Doesn't matter what the surface is. I will find a way to adjust, to fill you up and make you whole.
