journeyofnow More than anything, he wanted to return to the house with the same look of peace that he'd seen on Pastor Harris's face, but he trudged through the sand, he couldn't help feeling like an amateur, someone searching for God's truths like a child searching for seashells.

journeyofnow I have so many emotions going on when it comes to the Michael Brown shooting in Ferguson. I mostly feel a profound sadness with moments of anger. As a strong and loving man raising two boys to be men, I will have to have a conversation with them on how to act around police. I watched a video last year by a poet Javon Johnson, that nearly had me in tears, because this is a reality that my sons at some point will have to face. If you have a moment please listen, by clicking on my profile. It will give you a new perspective. 2w
  •   dutchie68 A very sad reality indeed... Beautiful image Stephen. 2w

journeyofnow She worked her toes into the sand, feeling the tiny delicious pain of the friction of tiny chips of silicon against the tender flesh between her toes. That's life. It hurts, it's dirty, and it feels very, very good. ~ Orson Scott Card 2w

journeyofnow When anxious, uneasy and bad thoughts come, I go to the sea, and the sea drowns them out with its great wide sounds, cleanses me with its noise, and imposes a rhythm upon everything in me that is bewildered and confused. ~ Rainer Maria Rilke 2w

journeyofnow Without a little madness I wouldn't be able I feel. And if I can't feel then I'll lose my mind. And if I'll lose my mind I'll lose my words. This is how I love, madly enough to lose myself and feel all the things I can't put into words. ~ R.M Drake 2w

journeyofnow Just to think we share the same sky and breath the same air. That's all I ever need. To know that maybe someone out there was meant for me, so I wouldn't feel so alone. 3w

journeyofnow Maybe it wasn't her. Maybe it was everyone else, and maybe that's why you can understand her. For she was an ocean and she'd always make us feel like we were all lost at sea. ~ R.M Drake 3w

journeyofnow What is more beautiful than a sea of water with a number of white-winged boats skirting its surface? Poetry and beauty contesting with the wind and the waves!

journeyofnow Maybe I'm a rock set in my ways and unmoving. Maybe I'm a rock sitting alone an isolated ego that is stooped in my own fears and ignorance.

I think not, I'm the ocean vast and forever changing. I am beautiful one of natures crown Jewel's. In my majesty I carry life and nourishment, I supply the very basic needs for survival. Doesn't matter what the surface is. I will find a way to adjust, to fill you up and make you whole.

journeyofnow I want to be magic. I want to touch the heart of the world and make it smile. I want to be a friend of elves and live in a tree. Or under a hill. I want to marry a moonbeam and hear the stars sing. I don't want to pretend at magic anymore. I want to be magic.

journeyofnow To think that every sunset and sunrise is one of kind and that you will never see the same one again. We treasure that experience we bask in it's glory and capture the moment in images and video. Yet we come across our own fellow man each with their own unique story and a one of a kind beauty, yet we don't pay the same homage. Instead we criticize, judge, pay little to no attention to, kinda strange huh? 1mon

journeyofnow I really don't know why it is that all of us are so committed to the sea, except I think it's because in addition to the fact that the sea changes, and the light changes, and ships change, it's because we all came from the sea. And it is an interesting biological fact that all of us have in our veins the exact same percentage of salt in our blood that exists in the ocean, and, therefore, we have salt in our blood, in our sweat, in our tears. We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea - whether it is to sail or to watch it - we are going back from whence we came. ~ JFK 1mon

journeyofnow I'm always reading articles from different walks of life. I'm pretty comfortable talking about nearly any topic at great length.
One of the sites that I enjoy is Brain Pickings by Maria Popova. She was interviewed on staying present and grounded in the age of information overload.
There was a passage that I found interesting. I thought I would share it here since we all have a spark of creativity.

The interviewer asked what she meant by the statement. “You needed to be in love with the reality of your own life in order to produce beautiful, meaningful, and intelligent things creatively.” Popova elaborated on the statement and said. There is a notion that if you are not grounded in who you are—which includes what you love, what makes your heart sing, what makes you get up in the morning and be excited, and what makes you go to bed at night and be satisfied and fulfilled—if you are not rooted in the things that move you, then you’re not really going to be able to produce things that are meaningful. You’re just simulating what it is like to be a person who feels those things.

Are you grounded in who you are? Have you figured out what makes your heart sing?

journeyofnow Most people gaze neither into the past nor the future; they explore neither truth nor lies. They gaze at the television. Not me, I choose to gaze into the sunset with you. 1mon
