journey2fitness Absolutely. I find too often that people are only counting calories and not taking into count the actual health benefits of some things. Like just because diet pop has 0 calories does NOT mean that it's healthy for you. #health #fitness #smoothie #eatclean #healthy 1y

sooo I need some advice. I recently found out that I am gluten intolerant and lactose intolerant. This is something very new to me..so I'm not sure how to handle it! And I'm not sure of the certain foods I can/can't/shouldn't eat. I haven't really done much research on this..so if anyone has any advice at all that would be awesome! :) #health #fitness #healthyliving

journey2fitness I am so excited to be back on my grind! The beginning of the day is always the perfect time to workout. Not only does it get it out of the way, so you can't make excuses for not working out the rest of the day...but it gets the blood flowing through your body and muscles, and completely wakes the body and mind up. My favorite part of the day! #fitness #health #workout 1y

journey2fitness I know there's people out there with eating disorders and what not, so this is nothing against you! Just some healthy advice... Some people feel that starving themselves is going to help them lose weight. You will lose weight..but only TEMPORARILY! When you deprive your body of the nutrients and calories (yes, your body NEEDS calories to function!) it needs, your body begins storing the food it has as fat, instead of burning it off as energy which is what your body normally would do of it was being replenished with the nutrients and calories it needs to keep your metabolism up. You can starve yourself and expect to lose weight and gain muscle, you need to EAT to gain these things! Theres no magic tricks.. Just doing it the right way and the HEALTHY way! #healthy #eatclean #cleaneating #motivation 2y
  •   journey2fitness You can't starve yourself**** 2y
  •   journey2fitness @ladyazhure thanks! but I do know when you starve yourself you will lose weight, and once you start eating healthy again, you gain all the weight back. Many people I know this has happened to, and actually when I was calorie crazy and ate maybe 500 calories a day I lost weight, then when I was satisfied with it and upped my calories back up to 1200 and ate normally, I gained it all back. But either way, it's NEVER healthy to starve yourself! Whether you lose weight doing it or not 2y
  •   allifischh @ladyazhure I don't want to start an argument or anything, but "starvation mode" is not a myth, at least not in the holistic/alternative health world. As society, no one gets the amount of vegetables, fruits, proteins, or carbs that they actually should and when a body is missing something or if you have candida/parasites in your body and feed on everything you eat, your body *will* go into starvation mode. It's extremely hard on your body to starve it of the food it needs, so when a person does starve themselves and then starts eating again their body will panic and store *everything* as fat cells because it doesn't know if you're going to starve yourself again. Maybe in Western Medicine "starvation mode" is a myth, but it's really not. 2y
  •   journey2fitness I thought you were saying it WAS a myth! Haha I know it's not 2y
  •   journey2fitness @ladyazhure of course "If I don't eat enough I will gain weight" isn't completely true. But your body DOES need calories to function properly, which includes your metabolism. So I your metabolism is slowed, it is easier for you to put on weight. 2y

journey2fitness Friday: leg day! This day is loved by some, and hated by many! I personally have a love/hate relationship with this day. I love it, because my legs are my strongest part of my body, so I'm able to finish off every rep even when my legs are absolutely on fire, and I hate it for the same reason, hahaha. The one exercise that works my legs the best is the skaters step ups, because you basically get a lunge and a squat in 1 rep, and of you love the burn, you'll LOVE this one! For anyone who doesn't know what a skaters step up is.. First off, you're gonna want to grab a small platform. I like to use the top pier for the platform people do step ups on ( if you know what I'm talking about! ) so..to start off, pick a leg you'd like to start with. I usually go with my right leg to start things off. Put your right foot on the platform, with your left foot off and go down into a lunge. Then bring your left foot up onto the platform and do a squat, then back down into a lunge, and so on and so forth. Do this for 15 reps, 3 times for each leg. I'm telling you, it is a KILLER workout, my absolute favorite, and brings on the burn like no other. Have fun and stay fit! #legday #love #hate #workout #dedication #motivation #gym 2y
