joshjeffersondavis May I introduce to you.... Goya Minnaloushe Bagheera (I couldn't decide on a name so this lil guy gets all three... I think it has a hearing problem so its first name is for one of the last great masters of painting....Francisco Goya, who later in life became deaf and created his now famous Black Paintings. Minnaloushe, for the cat dancing across the grass with eyes changing in the moonlight. Lastly Bagheera from Kipling's writings... A protector and defender of all that is good) 2d

joshjeffersondavis Well I rescued a cat this evening and the only thing I know is that I want nothing else more than to nourish it and make sure it's safe. 3d

joshjeffersondavis 'Evidence indicates that cats were first tamed in Egypt. Egyptians stored grain, which attracted rodents, which attracted cats. (No evidence that such a thing happened with the Mayans, though a number of wild cats are native to the area.) I don't think this is accurate. It is certainly not the whole story. Cats didn't start as mousers. Weasels and snakes and dogs are more efficient as rodent-control agents. I postulate that cats started as psychic companions, as familiars, and have never deviated from this function'-William Burroughs 5d
