jeriko Already asked on Facebook, but Instagram is cooler anyway :-) Interested in creating something beautiful with me? Or you know someone who might be perfect for my type of photography? Give me a heads up, like a comment or direct message and we'll figure something out! Preferably in the Berlin region, but I'm open for suggestions. 3d

jeriko So I had these two rolls of exposed film lying around for more than a year but never felt like developing them, as I knew they were way underexposed. They where used in San Francisco, but back then I only realized after these two that the batteries in my camera were depleted and every shot was done at 1/500s - not really good when you want to do long exposures in the night.

So yesterday I thought why not, let's see if there's at least something on them. Put them in the tank, added some Rodinal soup, left it standing for two hours, only to see some frames properly exposed.

And then it hit me. I completely forgot that I used the camera at the Bonneville Salt Flats! It's only two frames, there are some sort of light leaks and two spots where the developer fucked up, the other one is a little bit to noisy for my taste, but this one... I can't stop looking at it.
I'm madly in love with this one.

jeriko Some of you might remember that I had a travel diary on Tumblr called "22 Tage" while my father and I were crossing the USA in September 2013. Well, given that I already moved my portfolio away from Tumblr and back to my own webspace, I thought I should do the same with this one. Not to mention that it gave me an opportunity to give it the design it deserves. The link is http://christophboecken.de/series/22-tage/, so go ahead, have a look and tell me what you think! 2w

jeriko New week, new series, so say Hello to Laura! She approached me about two months ago, so we met in the studio for a couple of hours and took some reaaally beautiful photos. Expect a whole shitload of them during this week! :-) #pentax67 #kodakfilm #kodaktrix #filmcommunity #filmlove #filmisnotdead #analoguelove #buyfilmnotmegapixels #ishootfilm #staybrokeshootfilm #bw_lover #35to220 #shotonfilm 2w

jeriko "The things that will last on the internet are not owned. Plain old websites, blogs, RSS, irc, email." - Brent Simmons

For the last couple of months I used Instagram as some sort of blog, writing larger pieces with thoughts on my photography as well as photography in general. But Instagram will eventually go away. Not today, not tomorrow, not next year, maybe not in five years, but someday it will be gone. In 2005 nobody had thought that MySpace will be gone someday, yet here we are and it's merely a sidenote of the current Internet, while we're using services that weren't available on devices that didn't even exist back then.

And I don't want my content to go away. For the last couple of weeks I moved my portfolio website to Tumblr, hoping to reach a wider audience. But guess what, Tumblr will go away too. Again, not in the foreseeable future, but eventually it will be gone. So I moved my portfolio back to my own webspace and added a blog to it. Maybe I'll cross-post entries here as well, but rest assured that my own website will always be favored over services in which I'm not the customer but the product that gets selled.

And it's not like you read all this boring stuff, right? ;-) The photo is from a session with @jacsfishburne a couple of weeks ago. So stoked to see and possibly work with her again in October while she's staying in Berlin again.

jeriko Oh, these? These are just 20 rolls of film that need to be developed.

Let's get started.

jeriko Say Hello to Julia. Definitely one of the most relaxed sessions I've had so far, as she was pretty much laughing all the time. Always feels good when there's no tension, no anxiety. We decided to shoot one last roll of film in the staircase, turns out that these are the photos that really lasted.

jeriko "Larifari", which translates to "falderal". That is a comment which was made almost two years ago regarding my photography. From a person who I've never met, who I rather don't know, who I sometimes notice when she is publishing something online, a person who produces a somewhat different type of photography than mine and therefore a person who I shouldn't listen to when it comes to criticism about my photography.

So why is it that I still remember it and that I still feel offended?

jeriko Another one with Lisa in the studio. This was also the premiere for the Yashica Mat 124G I bought a couple of weeks ago. A completely different kind of camera than the Pentax 67: lightweight, rather compact, no focusing aids, square format and most of all... silent. It felt awkward at first, as I was used to those clunky sounds from The Beast when the mirror flips up, whereas a TLR has almost no moving parts whatsoever. Didn't take long though until I had some real fun with this camera. And the negatives, oh boy, those negatives! Immediately fell in love upon first sight!
