jenellesummers Ok.. So I wasn't even going to post this since I didn't do the Ultimate Reset (a non-starvation 21-day #cleanse, which is mostly #veganeating) as it was designed to be done & I didn't do it for weightloss (but I'm not mad that I lost fat off my booty.. I like a round booty but I'll build that as muscle🏻) but so many people asked if I would share my results anyway ..so here's where I saw the *outside* transformation. The best results are what can't be seen - how I eat, my habits & how I feel.
But I did this with my husband & we did it to improve on our clean eating even that much more, improve on our snacking habits, to detoxify & to reset our systems.
Most people lose a LOT more weight than we did but we intentionally added more food within the "approved" list (but kept in coffee️ for #sanity, eggs, Greek yogurt & oatmeal thru weeks 2 & 3) so that we had energy for workouts & to ensure we didn't lose muscle🏼 We did our normal workouts just nothing crazy! The way we did it, we didn't feel deprived nor did we have more than a momentary craving here & there. I was pretty shocked! jenellesummers This was lunch today!! Last day of the UR & feeling great! As you can see, I don't follow the exact recipes-of-the-day but I eat within it according to time & fresh stuff I have on hand. Chocolate Mint vegan shakeo saves me! This is TOTALLY do-able for me even given my big appetite & dislike of meal plans, & I'm not Hangry in the least

jenellesummers Classic oats from Starbucks WITHOUT the dried fruit added in (they add sugar to their dried fruit.. it has 22g sugar) so I just sweetened it with stevia from my purse 🏼 In a time crunch, I think this is a decent option as a snack when you need carbs. Add a half package of Chocolate shakeo for more nutrient-dense, superfood calories & protein. A lot of Starbucks other options are either too high in sugar, or HIGH sodium (which makes me feel bloated & off track🏼), or high in bad carbs, ..or all of the above. 1w

jenellesummers Took my last "detox" supplement tonight for The #ultimatereset which isn't that bad tasting in my opinion. Tomorrow we start our day 15 & our last week! I honestly didn't think I'd make it this far given I don't like to cook or follow a meal plan but it's been really easy to tweak it to suit our needs and likes Its basically how I already eat just minus #questbars #feta #turkeyburgers #ezekielbread so all those things are replaced with more fruits & veggies! We've kept in plain Greek Yogurt sweetened with stevia, low acidity coffee, & eggs even though those were supposed to be excluded in week 2. So we're getting more protein & calories than most would consume but we aren't looking to lose weight with this (but don't get me wrong, I won't be mad if I suddenly see a 6-pack️). And we still workout, just lighter/less intense. Just an update for those curious 2w

Stir Fry Veggies, tomatoes & cucumber with hummusI also had 2 hard boiled eggs which are NOT a part of the reset this week BUT we're modifying here & there to add more calories as we're trying to make sure we don't lose muscle & have enough calories to do moderate workouts. We're modifying this to suit our needs.. taking it day by day. It is DEFINITELY a way to cut sugar, detox your system, stop bad habits, learn to LOVE veggies, stop cravings, & more! We have about 1 more week. My mint #ChocolateVegan ShakeO & Cocoa Joe #superseedz are my treats! Wish us luck 2w

jenellesummers When you workout, you challenge your mental toughness. A series of pep talks to yourself are necessary🏻️🗣🏼. Those last few reps are the most uncomfortable & count the MOST. The positive self-talk is great practice for everything else you'll face in your day & in your life. Getting fit is life-changing because of the inner-battles you learn to overcome to get there! 2w
  •   jenellesummers @k.gardiner311 I rarely ever weigh myself & what keeps me motivated is knowing I feel awful when I'm not eating right & exercising, I'm a better mom/wife/friend/leader when I'm taking care of myself & eating/performing like an athlete. I want to show others what fitness can do (this biz helps keep me accountable), if I give up, many others might as well. And I *do* eat chocolate. But I am careful about what I buy because I know giving in to temptations is EASY & even when small, they can lead to a bad habit or downward spiral. 2w

jenellesummers Went for a run outside this morning (normally I run on the treadmill so I can do interval sprints at certain paces) & I had some weirdo slowing down in his car riding next to me. It didn't last long but long enough to freak me out. This is the 3rd time it's happened in the last year & here I am.. an older woman running in a nice neighborhood. What it made me realize is so many women I meet are afraid to get on social media due to "creepers" seeing them or their kids.. I totally get that feeling BUT in reality, the creepers you need to fear most are the ones who live near us.. In nice neighborhoods, in nice cars, working professional careers, sometimes working with our kids in schools & sports. If your daughter runs, please run with her or have her run with someone. I personally think this can apply to boys too, although some could probably easily out-run a creeper. When our son runs, he runs with one of us, or on the treadmill, or just does a series of sprints within site. Maybe I'm an #overprotectivemom 🏼 #becareful 2w

  •   whitleewitte I've had this happen to me as well. My husband bought me an adorable pink pepper spray container that I carry with me on all my runs. I stay vigilant too. If I'm running in a direction with not many houses, I take an ear bud out and keep my eyes open. Any odd behavior, I turn around and make sure I'm within in sight of people. It's sad that we even have to worry. 16h
