These two pics were taken just days apart. Picture on the left was taken about 24 hours after a big refeed day, mid way through my competition prep. On my refeed days I would consume lots of foods high in sodium, hence why I look like shit in the left pic cause of the water retention. You may be thinking wtf heff what about your contest!? Now of course I had the Stockholm pro in mind when doing this.. Refeeds imo are essential when in a long contest prep to help keep your muscles full plus helps keep you sane lol. And sometimes (depending on bf) I'll do a 'dirty' refeed day. Eating 'dirty' pretty much refers to processed foods like pizza, ice cream, etc.

Since I do my own contest prep coaching I know exactly what works and doesn't work for my physique. And since I was about 5 weeks on from the contest I didn't really give a fuck about how much sodium I was consuming. Sodium is something I usually worry about during peak week.

Some bodybuilders will totally manipulate sodium during peak week in efforts to bringing out their best physique for the stage. When done correctly, the results are very noticeable. And when done incorrectly.. Well, the results are also very noticeable lol.

Do I manipulate sodium during peak week?? If I look great the week before my contest I'm not going to change much in my diet. The worst thing is to look great a week out and then you do some last minute changes to your diet and actually end up looking your worst the day of your contest. Don't do anything that you don't know how your body will react to. Keep it simple. And if you do want to try something like sodium manipulation, try testing it out first when you're like 5 weeks out from your competition, as I did in the pictures above.

jeff_seid Strive to be the best version of yourself. Pic taken just minutes before I stepped on stage for finals at the Stockholm Pro and qualified for the Olympia. Definitely my best physique to date. But this will be nothing compared to my Olympia physique this year. 124 days out. 1w
