jasonicecream Alright so some of you may have heard I had a little Fast and Furious incident (s/o Paul Walker) but all is well. I was being stupid and speeding (in a maxima of all things) and proper fucked a curb and a "U Turn" sign like it was Mandingo versus a cheerleader. Airbags popped like a party blower on New Years eve. Engine caught fire and it melted my lovely linens scented air freshener. That beautiful new alternator and ignition coils I installed on Thursday unfortunately didn't make it out alive. I'm lucky to have walked away with a flesh wound (barely) and my Banana Republic coat without a spot of burning oil on it. I don't need to worry about buying new tires though, so there is my silver lining. Shouts to @BryanCopping and @juice.23 for pulling me out of the car while I was searching for my phone to call my dad. If you guys weren't there I most likely would have passed out in the car from the fumes and who knows. Anyway, there's the story. I fucked up guys, don't make the same mistake I did. Don't drive a maxima. 6h

jasonicecream Since finals week is over, I'm getting drunk. Today's #CocktailOfTheDay is the Martinez!
The Martinez is certainly a relative to the martini, despite it having a polar opposite color and flavor. Invented in the late 1800s, this American made cocktail is either from the east or the west coast, little proof on things this old unfortunately. The Martinez features Gin (a sweeter gin is best), Sweet vermouth, a dash of maraschino liqueur (I've tried cherry heering which is a good twist) a dash of orange bitters and a lemon peel, stirred and served up. It's got a good balance of sweetness and bitterness with just a subtle hint of citrus, that ties it all together. #21stamendment

jasonicecream Who dat! I'm bored. Today's #CocktailOfTheDay is the "Illegally Obtained". This is a 21st Amendment original cocktail. Citrusy, smooth, floral. We use a rosemary infused gin, dry vermouth, a little bit of fresh orange juice, and simple syrup, with a dash or two of orange bitters. A small measure of orange blossom water goes a long way in this and really brings out the citrus. Orange peel garnish, perfect for cool days like today, and a really good hangover drink! 1mon

jasonicecream Today's #CocktailOfTheDay from a very unflattering angle is the "Anybody want a peanut?" (bonus points if you can state the reference.) This is one of the many cocktails made by the bar manager Chris McIntyre here at the 21st, and it's one of our more original ones. Peanut infused Four Roses Bourbon, honey syrup, and chocolate bitters. With a maraschino cherry garnish. Tastes like a peanut butter and honey sandwich. (people eat those) 1mon

jasonicecream Today's #CocktailOfTheDay is from my good buddy Maxton Kennedy (@maxtonak), from Tiki Tolteca. This is the Cinque L'Orange. A nice feature is that this cocktail features Pisco and Rum as the base spirits. Not too sweet, got a good apricot flavor, citrusy and a cute lil garnish. ONLY available at Tiki Tolteca. 1mon
