  •   juulsdoodle Yeah I saw it but I can't believe it It looks so good it makes the draw come out it's so much better than a white background Thx 2d
  •   val_mcbain_tattoos Absolutely amazing!! 1d
  •   janejanie @val_mcbain_tattoos thank you. Love your work! 1d
  •   juulsdoodle Do you sell work like this? I am steel looking at it Its too amazing :D 1d
  •   janejanie @juulsdoodle I can take commissions but as my work is intricate and very time consuming, I'm afraid they cost a lot. 1d
  •   juulsdoodle Yeah art is not cheap That's normal but this yeah it's not gonna be cheap you can see why I am 15 i don't have a lot of money I can spend i was just interested what it's cost :) 1d

janejanie Slow progress on the wolf. Derwent and Faber Castell pastel pencils on Pastelmat. #wip #wolf #art #pencildrawing #artfido #artcollective 3w
  •   instartists What paper do you use? @janejanie 2w
  •   janejanie @instartists it's not paper, it's Pastelmat. Pastel applies best on a surface made for pastels. 2w
  •   instartists Thank you! 2w
  •   pischiutti I never use pastels, only CopicMarker and Graphite pencils, which are better for beginners: Prismacolor softpencils or Derwent? And what tipe of Derwent do you use? 2w
  •   janejanie @pischiutti I used Derwent pastel pencils for this as well as soft pastels. Prismacolor are wax based coloured pencils. If you want to do coloured pencil drawings then Prismacolor are great to use. Maybe start out with a small set of pencils from different brands to see which you prefer. 2w
  •   pischiutti Ok, thanks 1w

  •   melissajane @janejanie haha we should team up!! :P how large is this? I've been trying to work bigger lately, the biggest I've gone is A2 but i just painted the background black to get around it 3w
  •   janejanie @melissajane it's a bit smaller than A3. I think if I want to do a really detailed landscape and still have a decent sized subject, I'll have to go much bigger. 3w
  •   melissajane @janejanie yeah that's understandable. I really love the detail in your works. I find animals and nature so intimidating , i struggle getting away from my comfort zone. I think i want to experiment a bit more this year. 3w
  •   janejanie @melissajane we all struggle with different things! Nature is my favourite subject. I find people a bit boring to draw unless they are wrinkled or flawed in some way. 3w
  •   _tugbxx @_.liu_ 3w
  •   artxew Hahaha it's funny because I also use Fabercastell and caran d'ache 2w

janejanie It's fun to look back at some of my work from this year. I hope I continue to make progress in 2015. People often ask me for advice on improving their artwork, and my answer is always to practice more. It is only by dedicating time and putting in effort that we see improvements, whether it's art or anything else in life. I'm excited about a new year full of different projects! #art #video #drawing #learning 1mon
  •   dynamicdogduo @janejanie Do you just use those soft pastels as background then use soft pastel pencils for the fur? 1mon
  •   janejanie @dynamicdogduo a bit of both really, because the regular soft pastels are usually stronger in colour, so you can add depth with them. Obviously the pencils are good for detail in the fur. 1mon
  •   dynamicdogduo @janejanie I see. So for like the wolf. The entire drawing was made out of pastel blocks and pastel pencils? What brand do you use? Derwent? 1mon
  •   janejanie @dynamicdogduo yes, I use Derwent as well as other brands. 1mon
  •   dynamicdogduo @janejanie All right. I'll take a look ️ thank you so much for tKing time yo talk to me! It helps so much and is such an inspiration! 1mon
  •   janejanie @dynamicdogduo you're welcome. 1mon
  •   hollywhitehouse @janejanie so great to see such a talented artist actually taking the time to reply to people :) one in a billion :) 2w
  •   janejanie @hollywhitehouse I try my best! 2w

janejanie Western scrub jay sat on a fence, mixed media. This started out as a pencil and pen drawing (Faber Castell and Prismas), but I decided to paint the feathers with acrylic. I really want to start painting more often. Sorry for the annoying watermark, but unfortunately I've had problems with art thieves on Instagram lately. Lots more art to come in the new year! Best wishes to you all for 2015. #art #bird #pencildrawing #artfido #artcollective 1mon

janejanie Close-up to show the details! Thank you for all the features and follows, I'm so happy to have reached 10k. Big thanks to @highvoltage_art @worldofpencils @art_sanity @spotlightonartists @instartists @illustratedmonthly @moanartistsupport @art.ed and every other page who featured this piece. I can't answer every comment, and as always there are some negative amongst the positive. I've always been honest about my art and I work hard; there are plenty of work in progress pictures for you to see the development of each piece. I draw freehand, so nothing is ever perfect, nor will it be to everyone's taste. I can only try my best! Thank you again to those who have given me so much encouragement along the way - I hope you will enjoy the art I share in the future. #art #wolf #pastel #artcollective #artfido 2mon

janejanie Hey guys! Sorry for the lack of updates; I've been ill this past week and unable to do any art. I've started another little bird portrait as I didn't feel up to doing any of my bigger projects. It's a western scrub jay in coloured pencil and pen. All the materials used are in the photo: Prismacolor, Faber Castell, gel pens and Copic markers. Thank you for all the features and lovely comments. Apologies for not responding to everyone. #art #bird #artfido #artcollective #pencildrawing 2mon

janejanie Just started this bird drawing. Thanks for getting me over 2000 followers! I've had lots of questions about the materials I use. I have many different brands of pencils and pens, but I mostly use Faber Castell and Prismacolor pencils. I use various markers, gel pens and fineliners. I've also had requests for videos; I'll try my best to video something for you soon. Please be patient as art is not my day job. ;) Hope you're all having a great weekend! #art #drawing #bird #wip #pencildrawing #artnerd #artfido 3mon

janejanie #tbt Muhammad Ali. I made a few small alterations to this old drawing. I would approach it in a totally different way if I drew it again, but you live and learn...and (hopefully) improve a bit over time. #pencildrawing #hyperrealism #muhammadali #boxing #art #sketch 4mon
