jacobrosenberg It is okay to post a clip longer than :15 as long is it is a continuous line. That cool? Great, glad we settled that. @furrycalamari with one of the all time great lines from 1992. @deadhippie posted pics of this rail and I had to find something worthy to post.
@frekleface you cool with this?

jacobrosenberg A few clips from the Virtual Reality split screen and credits. First two are Paul Zuanich killing it at Hubba on a Danny Way Pinhead popsicle, then @dannyminnick and I don't know the last one at Balboa park with some classic @sal_barbier commentary. #rawfootagefriday #virtualreality @planbofficial 1992ish 6d

jacobrosenberg Vintage @mfrazier72 from 1992 at Encinitas YMCA skatepark. Low light forcing the slow shutter always made me cringe at the time for the sake of the crispness of the tricks, but 20+ years later this looks just right. #rawfootagefriday on Thursday afternoon. @planbofficial #virtualreality #cuttingroomfloor 6d

jacobrosenberg Not sure I am ready to start dropping minute long skate clips, so I will keep it a bit more abstract until I find the right stuff to let play longer. The end credit sequences of the Plan B videos were always fun to do and basically Mike Ternasky let me do whatever I wanted to. Out takes, funny moments, tragic moments (hot foot) and behind the scenes stuff always made its way in there. I found a transfer tape with a bunch of those selects I pulled and here are some. We also used this transfer tape for music for the parts, some of it stuff that didn't make the cut. Here are some clips and moments from the editing bay at Mike's condo and there's a special trick from yours truly that was my crowning video achievement. I'd like to think it was an NBD when I put it down! Ha! See if you can see @pduffplanb @sal_barbier @furrycalamari @dannyway @kblock43 #ripMT and Filmer Jake. #rawfootagefriday on Thursday. @planbofficial #virtualreality #avideoforthesenseless 7d

jacobrosenberg Two things were certain in my youth. I loved skateboarding and I rented every episode of Star Trek on VHS from Tower Records. As well as every James Bond movie. Here's another old print my mom found. This is one I developed and printed myself at home and is of @kidadams at Palo Alto skatepark just after it opened. #greerpark #randomskatescans #1990 1w
  •   kidadams Thanx jake!! Cool to see this shit!! 1w
  •   jaykelman Great documentary about tower records On showtime called all things must pass. Check it out 1w
  •   iconoclastacular So RAD!!!! Greer early days... @4wbs @instaffej @docs_43 6d
  •   instaffej Rad to see it smooth and clean @iconoclastacular... Wish we could get a crew to smooth it out with big powered grinders like they've been doing to some other old parks. Greer was the first new skatepark built in the USA since the late 70s I believe, with Santa Rosa coming soon after, and then the concrete floor gates opened up over the next 2 decades... I watched all the Star Treks and Bonds on TV as a kid and was always regarded as a sci-fi nerd Jake :) 6d

jacobrosenberg I loved Blue Ruin and while I tend to shy away from these types of intense films, I had to see Green Room in the theater. Tasty, grisly, cringing and a great ride. #greenroom continues Jeremy Saulnier's nerve racking indie domination. Sean Porter made beautiful pictures too! @a24 again and again and again. #recommendedviewing 1w
  •   from1978 I saw Blue Ruin based on your recommend, it was totally worth it. Need to see Green Room. 1w

jacobrosenberg "The Last Detail" is one of the best films of the 70s. Beautifully photographed, impeccably acted and brilliantly directed. It just moves and you see and you feel for everyone and it gets where it's supposed to go. I try to watch this one once a year, you should watch it if you haven't.
cinearchive.org has a great write up on it. #recommendedviewing

jacobrosenberg Old 4x6 print of @guymariano showed up in the mail from my mom after she discovered a few old artifacts around the house. Pretty sure this one was on the door of my room. Took this during my high school holiday break 1990. #randomskatescans #imadeprintsofeverything 2w
  •   ben_ripping @jacobrosenberg in 1990 did you really know what was going down? Like how heavy of contributions and influences all those cats had? 2w
  •   samanthawittig33 Hübsch 2w
  •   jacobrosenberg @ben_ripping I knew I loved watching all these guys skate and everything they were doing felt fresh. I just pointed my camera at them. It felt important to document for the sake of making videos and sharing with other places what we were doing. Videos were always about telling the story of your scene. 2w

jacobrosenberg #rawfootagefriday with @kareemcampbelldotcom at a brand new World Park and Jason Maxwell in San Diego probably mid 1992. New tricks are old. Enjoy. Thanks @robertbrink and @frekleface for the proper identification of Maxwell. 2w

jacobrosenberg Sad day for music.
Powerful to reflect on just how much of Prince's music colored my childhood and adolescence. Vivid memories watching Siskel & Ebert review Purple Rain and then seeing When Doves Cry all day long on MTV. So many visual memories of a consummate artist that had transcendent passion for his life work.

  •   jacobrosenberg @_the_notorious_bif_ there was a period when it was cooler not to skate decks with graphics, also testing shapes and getting new shapes from the wood shop. I am sure there's more to it as well. 6d
  •   _the_notorious_bif_ Thanks Jacob. It's funny because and seems so counterintuitive. I mean... Some of the greatest graphics come from that era. Why would Rocco pay Mckee & @seancliver to draw graphics and pay the dudes who screen them, if nobody wants graphics on their board? I'm not arguing with you, it's just a head scratcher. By the way... In one of your posts (I think it was a Sheffy clip) you mentioned you were putting out a "Flash Back Fridays" DVD. Were you joking? If not, where can I get one? 6d
  •   jacobrosenberg @_the_notorious_bif_ I wouldn't say no one wanted graphics, it's just that the graphics were for selling the boards. By the time boards were out in stores, guys would be riding new shapes with no graphics. I think the post you are referencing was April 1. I will do something with the footage someday, just haven't figured the right thing. 6d
  •   kwotemusic Love how you narrated that. Haha! 5d

jacobrosenberg It's tax day, @dannyway's birthday and #rawfootagefriday !
This was the first filming I did for Questionable other than filming @furrycalamari in NorCal. I was in SD in the fall of 1991 for ASR and I met Mike Ternasky, Danny and Rick up at Temecula High School to film them. We got some gold with Danny and Rick.
Danny got sacked pretty bad on this one and kept at it, I remember he was kind enough to show us all the scar he got from the rail down below. #nothingstoognarly @planbofficial #thequestionablevideo more from Rick next week.
