isleofview Meal prep::I had this idea that in January I would do #whole30. Which morphed into "whole 30 with grace" which has now become "what fruit and veggies do we have in the fridge. Oh look! Chia seeds!" So. February 1st I'm looking at you! Anyway, at least I'm cutting the junk and increasing the nutritious food. Anyone else have tips on what works? (Also. I survived my first @pressedjuicery cleanse but that's a whole 'nother story...) #iovgoalsetting #eathealthyordietrying #mondayramblings #teg30daychallenge 23h

isleofview “Holiness is the sum of a million little things–the avoidance of little evils and little foibles, the setting aside of little bits of worldliness and little acts of compromise, the putting to death of little inconsistencies and little indiscretions, the attention to little duties and little dealings, the hard work of little self-denials and little self-restraints, the cultivation of little benevolences and little forbearances. Are you trustworthy? Are you kind? Are you patient? Are you joyful? Do you love? These qualities, worked out in all the little things of of life, determine whether you are blight or blessing to everyone around you, whether you are an ugly spiritual eyesore or growing up into a good-looking Christian.”

isleofview The story is told that when Berlin was being divided into East Berlin, controlled by the Communists, and West Berlin, part of the free world, a group of East Berliners dumped a whole truckload of garbage on the west side. The people from West Berlin thought they’d pick up all the garbage, put it on a truck, and dump it back on the east side. Then they decided that wasn’t the way to handle it. Instead they filled a dump truck with canned goods and other nonperishable food items, went over to the east side, stacked it neatly, and put a sign beside it. The sign read, “Each gives what each has to give.” I think they were preaching, don’t you? You can only give fruit to others when you are living a fruitful life inwardly. -John Maxwell #isleofviewreads #weekdayexplorer 4d

isleofview "Fearless faith results from holding on to Christ as our treasure. Gospel courage comes from gospel preciousness. If we truly believed that our reward in heaven far surpasses all the comfort and convenience and collections of the world, we, too, would be willing to consider them all as loss." -Matt Chandler // as I read through Exodus I am reminded of the faith of Moses and Aaron as they approached Pharaoh with the request of "let my people go." They were slaves demanding freedom. What if we demanded freedom of the things we allow ourselves to be bound to? Busyness, Anger, Impatience...if our reward is in heaven our investment is on earth by giving up our time to greater pursuits. #isleofviewreads #letitbebeautifulinchrist 6d

isleofview I'm becoming increasingly convinced that faith isn’t about the results – it’s about the process.
It’s about believing, in spite of the odds, that God can do anything he pleases, whenever He pleases.
It’s about taking action based on that belief.
Even if He ultimately doesn’t do what I know
He is capable of doing. -@joelrmalm
This photo does not even begin to do justice to the view from the work office today. Busy season means long hours, but it also means gifts like this view from a 10th floor window. My heart is at peace knowing that I have faith in One who is able to do all things.

isleofview "My heart will sing. No other name, Jesus..." // driving home from work on one of my social media free days last week I realized two things: 1. You can never replace the beauty of a sunset 2. You can never replace the beauty of a silent space into which He speaks #weekdayexplorer #lampandlight 1w

  •   kimlyannramos I listened to the whole speech today, it was amazing! I've heard bits and pieces before, but i don't think i'd listened to it all. It was very moving. 1w
  •   isleofview @kimlyannramos It's very moving!! I'm actually listening to a spotify playlist today that has many of his speeches and songs inspired by them...I hadn't heard all of them in entirety before, mainly random quotes. It's interesting and so sad too. 1w

isleofview This picture teaches me one thing: Children naturally love, trust and crave attention in return. My heart breaks for those who don't know Jesus and don't have a protector to fight for them. How important is it for us to show the love of Jesus in our world - to everyone. To children. To adults. To our communities. Build relationships and love people. 2w

isleofview “This year, mend a quarrel. Seek out a forgotten friend. Dismiss suspicion and replace it with trust. Write a letter. Give a soft answer. Encourage youth. Keep a promise. Forgo a grudge. Forgive an enemy. Apologize. Try to understand. Examine your demands on others. Think first of someone else. Be kind. Be gentle. Laugh a little more. Express your gratitude. Welcome a stranger. Gladden the heart of a child. Take pleasure in the beauty and wonder of the earth. Speak your love and then speak it again.”
