inthefunlane How fun are the colorful rooms in our rental? Bolder than I would ever be brave enough to commit to but they are so fun that I am allllllmost debating giving this mint a go somewhere at home 2d

  •   kitooze OMG Holly how did I not know about this place and how did you find out about it??!! I asked people if there were any (relatively) close beaches and was told no. Dave and I are so psyched to visit when we're back in NOLA!! Looks beautiful and relaxing. (This is Michelle by the way, loving your photos :-) 5d
  •   inthefunlane @kitooze hi Michelle!!! I definitely wouldn't say it's close (it's an hour drive to Gulfport, Mississippi and then an hour long boat ride out to the island lol but it is sooooo worth it! It's just magical out there and you have the whole island to explore all day!! 4d

inthefunlane I'm making it my business to bring one-strap-off overalls back this summer. I know I'm probably alone in this endeavor, and I've made peace with it 6d
  •   rubyandroseinteriors Oh gosh showing my age I did it in the 80s. Enjoy xx 6d
  •   _jillwiggs_ Super cute 6d
  •   erinix I got in so much trouble from wearing this look out of the house back in the day! My mom was not pleased lol 6d
  •   suzyhein Oh, I'm all over this!!! Where oh where did you buy those from?! I've been waiting a loooong time for this to make its come back! :) 6d
  •   andreahankiphotographer one (and/or both) of the straps on mine will not stay done up, so i'm unintentionally right on this train with you! (word of advice: overalls that strap up with snaps are not the best idea ) 6d
  •   kitredmond Love the look 6d
  •   niksmith780 You are not alone! Mine are just not full length overalls! 6d
  •   inthefunlane @suzyhein just catching up! Sorry so delayed, I got them at forever21! 2d

inthefunlane I swear, my phone photos accurately depict humidity levels LOL. And Wren has great taste in houses. 6d
  •   fromny2ga Love the humidity in the South. 😛 6d
  •   northstoryca You're killing me here. I need to go back for our annual vacation. 6d
  •   cole_andhercamera @inthefunlane - and to think, many photographers try to achieve the haze look in editing! 6d
  •   thebigredheart This is seriously like a modern-day Pollyanna....or Madeleine!!!!!! Adorable! 6d
  •   ksueb Just make sure it's humidity and not a finger print. Not that I've done that or anything. 6d
  •   inthefunlane @ksueb haha, been there, done that! I've been wiping this phone down constantly thinking that was it the first few days (sweaty hands, anyone??) but alas I just can't seem to lose the flare 6d
  •   ksueb I also noticed my husband's pictures were strange one day and he had his phone on a setting that made all of his pictures faded. He has no clue. I'm sure you are just dealing with humidity, but just wanted to throw out some suggestions for whoever. 6d

inthefunlane Our evening routine: strolling along the Mississippi after dinner (it may have something to do with trying to sneak a peek of Brad Pitt at work ) 1w
  •   marissahess Your photos are so full of so much sunshine since the move south! It makes your photos look happier. Good thing there isn't a humidity indicator on the pics, right? 1w
  •   golfingkathy Miss my Wrennie girl!! 1w
  •   inthefunlane @marissahess awww that is so sweet of you to say! We are definitely enjoying our time here, and we even vowed to never complain about the heat after the winter we had lol 1w
  •   inthefunlane @christywellsphotography haha, totally, but I've been unsuccessful in my hunt for him 1w
  •   emcsaleh Welcome to LA (my home state). I live in Baton Rouge (about an hour 15 minutes north of New Orleans). If you have time one day, make the trip to BR to see the art deco capital building. You'll love it. 1w

inthefunlane This week I discovered why our porch ceiling, along with nearly every porch here is painted a dreamy shade of blue. Apparently it keeps bugs from also calling it home since they think it's the sky. #themoreyouknow 2w
  •   debpricesinclair Good thing to know 2w
  •   landrishak Wonder if that works for spiders in Edmonton... 2w
  •   ashleabelle3 Haint blue to keep away spirits is what I always read! 2w
  •   _mel4life_ I thought it was birds. Great if it works for bugs, too! 2w
  •   curlygirlkitchen How interesting! I never heard that before. 2w
  •   cherry_stalk It's a long held belief in Europe - from blue kitchen walls in Victorian England (it also made the hot room feel cooler), to the blue shutters of French houses. I think there are also parts of India where it is used on porches to deter mosquitoes. 2w
  •   sophlog Love your photos!!! 20h

inthefunlane Exactly one year ago today I was exploring some of the most beautiful places on earth with my favorite people ( Versailles with @lexbarr @tgoosa ) . If you would have told me that my life would have taken me on such a roller coaster this past year and landed me in New Orleans I would have told you you were crazy. It's amazing how small the world is when you put yourself out there, and when you let your passion and dreams guide you. Anyway, sorry for the sappy, vague posting. I have just been incredibly lucky this year and to everyone who played their role in it ( you all know who you are ) I am so grateful. Now let's rock this long weekend! 2w
