ileanonthewall Ok combining Day 14 & 15 of #NaughtyorNiceYogi because I'm yoga bombing people's feeds. Sorrryyyy. Starting with Astravakrasana and then Mayurasana. ️ Since I'm all caught up, just wanted to leave you something that's stuck with me and made me want to deepen my practice: Don't be afraid to be the person you rely on when sh*t hits the fan. Of all the relationships you will have in your life, the most important and longest one you'll have is with the person that looks back at you in the mirror. Do you like what you see? Are you being honest with yourself? Make this relationship good and one that's worthwhile—one that's nurturing, loving and happy 6d

ileanonthewall Meet Buttercup, a rescued factory milking cow who has been separated from all her babies when they were born. When Gentle Barn rescued her, she was pregnant but because she was so malnourished, her baby only lived to be 7 months. She loves being a mom and licks all the other cows' head to greet them. When a motherless calf was rescued and brought in, she took the baby under her wing. Buttercup has such deep, nurturing warm eyes, it's hard to not fall in love with her. It's amazing to see these beautiful creatures and be a witness to their personalities. Have you hugged a cow today? #gentlebarn #happycow #hugacow #vegan #animalshavefeelingstoo #sundayfunday 7d

ileanonthewall Hay hay hay Belly rubs with Zeus. Born at a county fair and when it closed, he was going to be sent to a slaughter house until he was saved by the Gentle Barn. Now he's living a long and happy life and is one of the many beautiful rescued creatures there. These animals work with children from inner city, group homes, mental health care facilities, foster homes and schools. A healing process happens between the animals and kids when the children realize that these rescued animals have gone through the same fears, pain and difficulties and that we all deserve the same rights, freedom and happiness. For those of you in the LA area, visit the Gentle Barn where you can hug a cow, cuddle a turkey, belly rub pigs, play with goats and run your hands through sheep's coat!! #gentlebarn #thislittlepiggy #healing #hug #bellyrubs #love #animallover #vegan #sundayfunday 7d
  •   rivera_bell Yes! Brings me to tears! My baby girl Mowgli is the sweetest most loving pig that opened my eyes and is why I am now a vegan. 7d
  •   ileanonthewall @rivera_bell being plant based makes you really SEE animals. Love it so much congrats on going vegan 7d
  •   kittiepop This is such an amazing story! I cried and wanted to steal all the animals last time I went to the fair. I'm so glad someone actually rescues them. 7d
  •   ileanonthewall @kittiepop I feel you! Yes it's amazing that a place like Gentle Barn exists and it's their goal to keep expanding so there's a sanctuary for all these animals who are given a second chance ️🌎 7d

ileanonthewall Mixed up Day 11 with Day 10 yesterday. #NaughtyorNiceYogi One Legged Crow. For some reason when I get into this pose, that left foot does weird things. I feel its awkwardness but I can't seem to adjust it. Oh well, practice and all is coming. Several weeks ago I couldn't even get into one legged crow. So I'm going to celebrate that They say crow is the gateway to all inversions, even though I can do most inversions I still really find crow to be the one that I reaaaallly despise and find the most challenging. What you resist persists so I'll just have to keep practicing crow until it becomes my lovah 1w

ileanonthewall Day 10: #NaughtyorNiceYogi Toe stand with eagle arms. Last one for the night! As my practice continues to grow, I'm constantly reminded that I am enough. We live in a fast paced world that it's common to feel like you're constantly running just to catch up. Remind yourself that just because you aren't where you want to be, it doesn't mean that you are less than what you are. You have everything in you and all the tools to reach your fullest potential. It won't happen overnight but one step at a time, one choice at a time, you will get there. Trust that it's inside of you, lean into it and you'll continue to reach new heights 2w

ileanonthewall My heart is so heavy today. I've been grieving rationally only to find out that I need to grieve physically too. I wanted to forget about these yoga challenges and curl up in a blanket and cry. But then I realized even though these IG yoga challenges made me grow mentally and physically, I have used yoga intensively this past year to cope with anxiety, stress, depression, and low self-image. It's helped me create a space for myself that I can always return to and find an inner peace when everything around me is everything but. When I was driving, I spontaneously and uncontrollably cried on the highway. I knew I was holding in my grief and not facing it. To honor your well being and to help grief pass, we need to keep our body and energy moving. Grief causes an emotional and stress response in our bodies. Connection to our breathe helps soothe the central nervous system—alleviating the fight or flight mode. Heart openers such as up dog or cobra keep energy moving through the heart and release the tension and heaviness we tend to store during grief. I know it will take time to let this heartache heal but I also know that in passing, it will only open up a new level of love I didn't know existed. Just keep breathing and soon, this too shall pass ️ Day 6: Eka Pada Koundiyasana #NaughtyorNiceYogi #asana #pranayama #healing #healingprocess #yogaheals #breathe #heartopener #openheart #energyflow #thistooshallpass 2w

ileanonthewall Every time I fly back to VA, I get so excited to see this face. This is Murphy. He was an unexpected adoption when I was 12. My mom took me to the animal shelter because I had been upset about something and she knew being surrounded by cats always made me happy. I fell in love with this guy and ended up bringing him home. He was such a sassy cat, always having energy for two and never stops talking just to make sure you know he's in the room. I always said Murphy would outlive all of us because of his spunk and fervor for life...after all, he was 18 and still going strong. But I knew I was in denial and knew it was only a matter of time. And then my mom called and said "it's time." He had been suffering through kidney failure and I wasn't sure if he would make it by the time I flew back home. My mom said "No, I think he's waiting for you." I remember when I had my kidney infection 8 years ago, he didn't leave my side. When I walked through the door I immediately returned the favor and slept next to him. Hours later he took his last breath. I really did feel that he was waiting for me and I do believe that animals have this instinct about you when you have a special bond with them. He knew I was coming to say goodbye and he let me. And for that I'm forever grateful. I love you Murphy 2w
