ieatblog Amazing dong po pork is gelatinous goodness. Love how unctuous and tender the meat is. #ieatblog 11h

ieatblog Eating the last of the kuih dadar/dadar gulung/inti/pandan coconut crepes. So so good. Must make a huge batch rather than buy these expensive ones. #ieatblog 16h

ieatblog "I like big buns and I cannot lie" haha. OK I've used that line way too many times for these big meat buns. Maybe I need to update my song to "my Anaconda don't want none unless you'e got big buns hun". Nope that Nicki Minaj version just doesn't have the same fun feel. Sticking to the old skool version. #ILikeBigBuns #ieatblog 1d

ieatblog Fried tofu is one way that I really enjoy it. This one was coated in a light batter and stir fried with salt and pepper. Really tasty. Not sure of the health benefits of the tofu in this dish anymore haha. Probably outweighed by all the salt and MSG. :-) #ieatblog 2d

ieatblog My laptop fan is dying so I have to take it to service today. What a pain. There goes half the day and no studying done. I hope they can fix it quickly as I really need it back ASAP. First I eat my egg custard bun and then I'm off to glorious Mount Waverley for the service centre. I *may* drop by Glen Waverley for some lunch afterwards. #ieatblog 2d

ieatblog Happy Monday. I'm at home today studying hard. The asaignment is starting to take shape. 4,000 of 12,000 words written but I'm happy as I've mapped out the rest of the things to write. I might need to do some padding as I don't think I have enough content to reach the word count but I will see how much I babble, much like this status haha. Starting the day with some #yolkporn first. #ieatblog 2d

ieatblog Sundays should be fundays but an argument yesterday has left me a bit dejected today. So I'm thinking back to happier times at the Mona museum cafe in Hobart eating the delicious pies and cakes while looking at the stunning relaxing view. #TakeMeBack #ieatblog 3d

ieatblog Fried soft shell crab is one of the best things. I want to give it a try at home myself soon. I'm guessing the keys are having a light batter and super hot oil? @winceeee #ieatblog 6d
  •   monicalups Be careful because like one in four pop - exploding hot oil and crab all over the place. Use a mesh thingy on top of your pan! 6d
  •   ieatblog @monicalups Uh oh. I don't like trying stuff normally. Popping crabs do not sound good at all. Must use a lid on the wok. Thank you for the tip. 6d
  •   winceeee @ieatblog You're right -- it is one of the best things! And you get to have a big selfish crab to yourself if you make it at home haha. Yes oil needs to be hot and tempura batter key. I also drizzled some more batter over the crab with a chopstick after its been in there for about 20-30sec (so that new batter can stick to existing batter) to add extra crunchy bits on top. No experience of oil explosion for me in my attempts? Think it's normally okay if you coat the crab with flour first before dipping it into the batter. I def recommend ppl try! :D 6d
  •   ieatblog @winceeee Great tips. I'm gonna attempt it. Wish me luck. No explosions pleaseeeee. 6d

ieatblog I'm so jealous of @eatplayshop with her afternoon snack. I don't have any snacks. I'd love some @papparichaus fried chicken skin right now. So sad. @daisy_nevertoosweet @thebakeanista #ieatblog 6d

ieatblog I love the look of all these different Indian sweets but boy oh boy they're way too sweet for my sweet tooth. Each was like an explosion of sugar and my work mates and I couldn't eat more than a small bit each. None of us really enjoyed them. We haven't acquired the taste yet. #ieatblog 6d
  •   ieatblog @chocolattebear Thanks for that tip. Wow that's a lot of sweets to import. I live really close to Dandenong actually. Can you recommend some good Indian/Afghan/African restaurants there? I've heard there are good ones. 6d
  •   ieatblog @fudslut I actually love Indian food. Just these sweets were way too sweet for me. 6d
  •   sang_vita Those don't look good at all. I make my own and they are just delicious x 6d
  •   ieatblog @sang_vita I see. I have no idea what they should be like. 6d
  •   stormemw Thanks! 6d
  •   monimonsta Next time have a kaju (cashew) barfi. Only have one piece though! 6d
  •   theouterpath @ieatblog - try a rasgulla/roshogulla. Just one though. They are my favourite. Or come to India during Diwali. Sweet sugary death, lol. 6d
  •   ieatblog @monimonsta @theouterpath Thanks for the recommendation. 6d
