ianhonest #squaready mirror like reflection on the canal today... I wonder if cooled water is somehow 'stiller' than normal temperature water... 1mon

ianhonest A sort of selfie! Me & @mollieann148 went for a bit of a photowalk the other day. We tried to take pics of each other and this one came out the best, so it's not actually taken by me. If you like it, drop by her feed & sprinkle a few likes... I considered posting the other day with the instagram hashtag about new year resolutions, and losing a few stones but I decided not to... 2mon

ianhonest I took hours trying to get a shot like this a couple of summers ago.. I got 50 like it in half an hour today... I just love the sharpness on the body of the bird, and the fact that the wings are just beyond focus. I'm loving this camera already... 2mon

ianhonest So, this years resolution... Take my photography to the next level. My Christmas present was a Canon 1200 DSLR camera. My aim is to learn out how to fully use it, and understand every function and setting... I started today by learning about shutter speeds. This was taken at 1/1000 of a second... The sharpness is stunning and maybe a small screen doesn't do it justice. My next mission is aperture mastery... 2mon

ianhonest Seems appropriate for my final post of the year to be a pic of my favourite local landmark. I went out for a walk today & it was a bit erm, fresh in the middle of the humber & they had closed the western footpath so no chance of seeing the sunset, but then I would have missed this nice shadow. Anyhoo, I hope you all have the New Years Eve you're hoping for😎 2mon

ianhonest A random cross I found next to the Humber estuary... I sense a sad story but it looked evocative against this sunset.. I'm still hardly getting out except for Christmas shenanigans 2mon

ianhonest I sort of wish the background was a bit more contrasty on this because it would make the wing details stand out a little more... I took it a few months back but didn't post it then because I had "done" several dragonfly shots but, I think it's time for it to have its freedom... 3mon

ianhonest I finally managed to sneak out with my camera for 10 minutes today... A good IG buddy gave me some great advice.. " a camera, like a pet, needs to be taken for walks". I got treated to a fab sunset under the humber bridge as a reward. 3mon

ianhonest Yep, Im still moaning about not getting out... my cameras haven't felt fresh air in about a month. If I dont get out soon, Im gonna have to take batteries out of them. Anyhoo, took this last week on a rare dinnertime wander. I think its been grey ever since.... insert sad emoticon here. 3mon

ianhonest Pic 4 in my rather elongated 5 shot challenge on the theme of b&w... if you think i have been a bit quiet lately, there are a couple of good reasons for that.. the first is, I have been SO busy with workband household chores that I havent gone free range with a camera for weeks, and secondly, i have smashed the screen on my ipod... I can barely bring nyself to look at it... makes me sad. Anyhoo, this is an old (but previously unposted) indian owl shot... hope you like it @missy_sk 4mon

ianhonest Continuing with the Hull theme, this is the biggest church in Hull, holy trinity. Apparently it's the largest parish church in the country & contains some of the finest medieval brickwork known to man. Allegedly. 4mon
