ianhonest Yes, I've got a bit obsessed with macro photography... This little fella (or lady, I don't actually know) landed on Mrs Honests wrist. She was freaking out wanting it to fly somewhere else & I'm saying "hang on while I get a pic of it for my IG buddies" and trying to get the focus right while she is going pale & trying to Google if it's likely to bite her with her other hand... I didn't even try to tell her I wanted to put a more appropriate lens on... 4mon

ianhonest I have been an insta-addict for about five years now, which has taught me to watch the skies. I am now firmly of the opinion that late September/October is the best time of year for cool skies (in the UK, anyway) 4mon

ianhonest This is the last flying #vulcan and, today is its last big flight as it makes its way around the south of England. I've seen it flying several times, but yesterday was the last time I will see it flying which makes me a bit sad. #xh558 #legend 4mon

ianhonest Ive been busy with my macro lens again... Have you seen the length of a butterfly's tongue? It's longer than mine! Very many thanks to my buddies at @igaddictsanonymous and @mydailycapture for featuring my previous post. They are both quality feeds if you appreciate quality images & support. 4mon

ianhonest Sooo.... another one of my long exposure attempts... I'm finding that these things are influenced by where you are able to locate a tripod & are sparsely populated as much as what would make a good subject. My daughter (my harshest critic) says this is "a bit much" but I kinda like it. 5mon

ianhonest ...& if long exposure waterfalls don't float your boat, a more "me" piccy. . 5mon

ianhonest When you start going down the road of photography you notice that there are some shots that you keep seeing that other photographers do (such as dragonflies, flower macros etc). One of these archetypal shots is the long exposure waterfall shot. I had no idea how much effort was involved (filters, tripods, crowd management)... Anyhoo, here is my effort # 5mon
  •   liz_bx I sure enjoy all kinds of photography. Im very fanicated to know how shots are done this way too. Especially how this water fall looks this way. Its quite beautiful Ian. 5mon
  •   ianhonest @promooch thanks, yeah I kept seeing similar shots but never previously had the equipment to try it 5mon
  •   ianhonest @liz_bx hi lizzie. Well, firstly you need an ND filter to cut down how much light that gets into the lens, then you need a tripod to keep the camera steady, & then you need to put your camera on shutter priority & start experimenting! The longer you have the shutter open, the blurrier the water gets & the sharper everything else gets. 5mon
  •   liz_bx @ianhonest Wow Ian sure lot's of steps to do. Wish we lived close by be great to do a photography lessons. I need to get a better camera. Great job! 5mon
  •   trendygirltravz Lovely spot 5mon
  •   shezasphotos Great LE . Am trying to learn this too 5mon
  •   ianhonest @trendygirltravz thanks tgt; it's not upto your long exposure standards... I'm still working on it 5mon
  •   ianhonest @shezasphotos I'm getting a bit obsessed with LE. Every shot I'm trying I am trying to leave the shutter open longer & longer 5mon

ianhonest When we were staying in #isleofman this was the field next to our cottage... Handily clear on its west edge so when the sun came down, this happens... Which was nice # 6mon
