honolulumag Happy #ThrowbackThursday from our archives. Everyone knows about #Waikiki’s famous @royal_hawaiian. Here’s something you might not know: the original Royal Hawaiian Hotel, at the corner of Hotel and Richards streets, was built in 1872 and demolished in 1917, to make room for a better #YMCA. 2w

honolulumag We recently ventured into busy #Waikiki to try a new shave ice spot which only uses fresh ingredients (not the artificial stuff) in syrups. This shave ice was made from Ito En ceremonial-grade, premium matcha green tea, Hokkaido azuki beans and homemade condensed milk. Read our review: http://bit.ly/lemonahawaii

  •   weflyhimusicgroup @honolulumag question? you guys say you cover: (entertainment and news) in Hawaii. yet you guys don't support nor acknowledge Hawaii's highly talented #hawaiihiphop scene for years now. whether you guys answer or not to this comment OUR voices will be heard by the people and we will break down the biased barriers you guys and your magazine have put up only supporting what YOU guys like and not what's truly Hawaii. our beautiful home is a melting pot for many cultures and you guys have not fully acknowledge that or the fact that our youth are creating legendary millstones for Hawaii representing our home and people with dignity, value and respect. #aloha 1w
  •   dianeswlee @weflyhimusicgroup Thanks for your feedback! Just a note this Best of Honolulu ballot is focused recognizing local businesses, not scenes or cultures. I will pass your story idea to our editors. Mahalo! 1w
  •   weflyhimusicgroup @dianeswlee I'm not talking about your ballot sweetie. we are talking about the magazine overall and what you guys are portraying on this Instagram account. it clearly says: entertainment, news and education. educate the people about our music scene because it reflects our culture in Hawaii and local businesses must respect that and come together as one to teach our people so they can pass it along the Aloha to other races with different ethnic backgrounds. do not overlook this and I'm pretty sure your editors won't care because all they care about is how many people are buying their magazines rather than what's really going on in Hawaii. Mahalo! 6d
