honey4rose Doctors - I have so much respect for all that you do. All the countless hours of time in study and work you put in to ensure other people's health. Sure I'm aware not all of you do it for that reason....it doesn't really matter when it hits close to home. Pop's getting a blood transfusion in the morning due to the fact that he's dangerously anemic. Pleeeeeeeeease keep him in your prayers. #onelove 🏽 2w

honey4rose Stress is simply a reaction to a stimulus that disturbs our physical or mental equilibrium. In other words, it's an omnipresent part of life. A stressful event can trigger the β€œfight-or-flight” response, causing hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol to surge through the body. When this happens, all those hormones and adrenaline need an outlet.
Stress is neither positive nor negative...it's how you respond to it that determines the outcome. For instance, doctors/surgeons are trained to respond to high levels of stress and pressure in a logical and methodical way that 's beneficial to others. I admire people who can respond to stress wisely....#respect 🏽 People deal with stress in many different ways: overeating, drinking, drugs, sleep, sex..... One way that I find very beneficial and underused is exercise. It's a great outlet to let out all those emotions while contributing to your future health. Think healthy, feel healthy, be healthy.

honey4rose True story: 1/3 of our country are #obese 2/3 are #overweight 29.1 million are #diabetic of which 90 to 95 percent have type 2 (adult onset) diabetes #props to #firstlady Obama for addressing this issue in our #children!!! Our pancreas produces insulin which help turn glucose into energy. People with type 1 diabetes have immune systems that attack insulin producing cells. People with type 2 diabetes have pancreases that at first, makes more insulin to try to get glucose into the cells. But eventually it can't keep up, and the sugar builds up in their blood. High blood sugar can lead to high blood pressure, high cholesterol and triglycerides. Which then can cause problems with the #heart.
What am I getting at?? I looooooove sweets (especially chocolate;)!! I love glucose! I use to think it stemmed from the fact that I have such a sweeeeet name The truth is I just love the way sugar makes me feel!! #shugashuga Everything from my taste buds to up-bursts of energy. Let's delve into the fact that chocolate stimulates the release of #endorphins and has an essential amino acid needed by the brain to produce #serotonin. Endorphins are the body's natural pain medication. They interact with the receptors in our brain that reduce our perception of pain. Serotonin is the brain's "happy chemical." High levels of serotonin can give rise to feelings of happiness.
Still with me?? I believe that 9% of US population are diabetics because they want the effects that sugar and chocolate produce without working for it! I know I did (still do )!! Truth is the long term harmful effects out weight the "quick fix" we get from the "sugar rush." The better alternative to achieving the same results with the opposite long term effects is exercise. :) you get the endorphins, serotonins and more energy with positive long term effects. You look better, feel stronger and are healthier.
All you need is 45 mins a day...and I've found that @f45_training maximizes those 45 min to get the right amount of exercise to produce my daily dose of endorphins...to help me take on the world!! ;)
