hobbes2485 Yesterday I tied three sweatshirts together and attached them to two water coolers at work. They asked what I was doing and I said "Dreaming of being here". 2d

hobbes2485 Something very special and both near and dear to my heart came home today after 17 stops and 25,452 miles of traveling. I couldn't be happier to see it. I've looked at all the photos and read the kind words. I've admired it's travels and more importantly, I've made some great connections.

We obviously had a hiccup in the project and I did not know it until now but Texas was indeed captured on film and I'm very happy. I do hope to get the project moving again shortly. It needs to be with individuals that truly want and are capable of doing it and turning it around quickly. (Also sending it to someone willing to do the same). I really appreciate those who have volunteered to be apart of this journey and those who will, for the quest to reach all fifty states. This really isn't about photography- It's about connections and friendships through @Instagram. That is what motivates me to continue the @travelinginstantcamera project. Thank you all for your continued support. Stay tuned for more adventures!

hobbes2485 We are to know winter stole summer's thrill and the river's cracked and cold.
See the sky is no man's land, a darkened plume to stay. Hope here needs a humble hand.

But I'd see it through if I could be wasting my time with you.

Another day older today and loving every little moment. I'm so very grateful.

hobbes2485 Tonight, I went on an unscripted drive through the country roads of NW Ohio. This is something I love to do as I head in no particular direction and often have to Google map where I am. Tonight was particularly chilly and just before sunset, I started heading home and then I finally saw the farmhouse on county rd 8.

This was my first time ever driving by and I was intrigued. There's an old legend that this house was owned by Mr. And Mrs. Orwig in the 1800's. A quiet little farmhouse that they lived in their entire lives. It was built and maintained merely on love. The Orwig's wed here and had all seven children in this home. They provided for their family off this very land and after Mr. Orwig passed away in the late 1890's, Mrs. Orwig was devastated. Although, she was saddened by her loss, she could never part from the house. She made her family promise that this house would never part and it would live on forever, like the love for her husband. Although some find it rather intimidating these days, the locals say it's strong willed and has withstood the test of time by something greater than they can explain. What stands now doesn't look like it did then but they say you can feel something in the air that resonates from true committed; endless love.

hobbes2485 This place smells like chicken wings and Pabst Blue Ribbon (you know what I mean if you've been here) but it's a great hidden place in NW Ohio. I just hope no one saw me wading in my bare feet with my jeans up to my knees while wearing a winter jacket and hat. Big thanks to @littlecoal for getting me out of the house before the snow made another visit. More days like this real soon. To be continued.. 5d

hobbes2485 Alright, I'll be the one to say it. WWIM's are overwhelming. That's a good thing (I guess). I can't tell if I enjoyed it but I know I was absolutely happy to be there. In fact, it was amazing to see the growth as people from all over the country made their way to Toledo. What I tried to capture here was what I felt in my heart. People from all walks of life were there for the same purpose. Literally, we were all in the same "spot" and we saw different things. However, we truly appreciated one another's view and combined them to become one during this day of friendship with common interests. This is my friend @loganbrown98 helping to interpret friendships and photography on a day when many usernames were turned into first names in NW Ohio. 7d

hobbes2485 In a "foto funk" lately but I'm embracing what it brings and the moments away. Hopefully with a little help from the Toledo group at the #wwimtoledo Sat, things will start to look up and I'll find what once inspired me, again. 1w

hobbes2485 A peep into Spring.

Today felt, looked and tasted kind of like spring. 40 in Ohio in early March is very different than 40 in early November. It was as if no one was inside. It's a celebration where parks are filled and Summertime by Will Smith is jamming from the guy next to me on my drive to the park as our windows were cracked slightly for the first time in five months.
PS. It's still light out.
Also, if you were thinking it, it's true. I did hit rock bottom with a spring time Peep photo. Also, to the couple that asked what I was doing and then told me I had pink sugar coated lips - yes that was awkward.

hobbes2485 The parks are flooded. Obviously, that's not great news but that means spring is closer. So, we took R&R Sunday elsewhere. It felt like spring. We could feel our hands and that's why I love living here, we appreciate the change. More than anything. We need this.

@loganbrown98 @ethan23brown and I went out for a bit near home. Two great people with optimism and enthusiasm that strives me to get outside. I need that.

Thanks, extra late hour. You made me happy.

hobbes2485 I loathe socks and/or boots so as you can imagine, my feet hate winter. However, I did a little spring cleaning and I found some "Moon Boots" (google it, kids). Not new age Moon Boots but the ones straight out of 1983. You know, the ones that easily tear on the sides, cause you to likely sprain an ankle and the ones that you take off and the inside is still on your foot and it's a real pain to put it back in. The kind you wore to school as a kid as you carried your "regular shoes" in ziploc bags. Those boots. In fact, I overheard one young kid ask her mom how I was walking with two giant casts on my feet. As much as I despised it and look forward to flip flops, it felt nice to not have wet feet for one day this winter.

As I left the park tonight, I told the sun that it has one school night left. To enjoy its early bedtime while it can, because I want to see more of what it shines down upon. It feels great to say it.. #springforward

hobbes2485 This "Ohio is just cold flat farmland" talk just isn't true. I'm not sure who started these rumors but I'm putting an end to them. Happy 212th Birthday, Ohio. You hardly look a day over two hundred.

An untouched view of a country whiteout. I can honestly say that I enjoyed it today. Beautiful snow that fell and fell and fell -then melted (on the still frozen foot of snow) 34 degrees felt like summer.
That is my kind of #winimal

  •   longagofaraway Looks like the flat lands of the Dismal Swamp in northwest Ohio. Growing in the hills of northeast Ohio, I had no idea Ohio could be so flat. 4w
  •   kpmorris99 Beautiful!! We go nuts in Texas when it snows and everything is white instead of brown, burnt to a crispy crunch! Can't stop looking out in amazement4w

hobbes2485 We had a date today. On Monday, we made plans for this morning as I waited anxiously all week long. I woke up early and you looked glorious. Bright and warm, as I took a sneak peak out my window. Then as I went to greet you, you gave me the cold shoulder. My fingers felt numb and my soul shivered. You deceived me yet another day. Your bite is as loud as your bark. For now, I will patiently await your warm embrace. 4w

hobbes2485 Today I bought sand, a deep dish lasagna pan, the movie Bull Durham and a "jug" of ice cream. I came home from work and put on swim trunks, a tank top and flip flops. I poured sand in the lasagna pan and watched this movie as I ate the entire pint, as my toes were buried in sand -in a lasagna pan. These are all true facts (except the tank top. I don't actually own one)

Ps. You can also take photos of houses if deer are located directly in front. Although, you can not drive on the wrong side of the road to get a better shot. Also, explaining this to a police officer will not smooth things over, unless they are also on Instagram. Then you get a warning.

Here's to spring.

hobbes2485 I'm always unsettled and uneasy about the unwritten rule of photographing someone's house. However, if you pull over and turn on your hazard lights while pretending to check your tire and you ️happen️ to get a photo, it's ok. I googled it.

Absolutely tired of winter and snow and the blinding blank color of white. Although, this is one of my all time favorite houses.

hobbes2485 My family monitors my well-being by my IG posts. If there is an extended lapse of photos, I start getting texts. So in a gesture to let them know I'm ok, I added a wolf to a photo. See-I'm ok mom. Love ya. It's been over a week since I've been outside and it's going to be -17 tomorrow. I'm not the photoshop type but when you're bored, you're bored. I loved this original photo but I'm sure it would have went by the wayside. It just needed something else.. "Temporarily". No humans or wolves were harmed in the posting of this photo. #iaddedawolfsomymotherknowsimok 1mon
