heygorgevents Wanna know what it looks like to leave an exhausting yet powerful two and a half hour meeting with your financial advisor? Well, after discussing your baby plans, ideal retirement scenario, and dream life when you're 60 it looks a little like this. Andrew and I have been wanting to mutually take better responsibility with our money and it feels good to make an investment into our future as a team. Let's just say our late 50's will Lord-willing include a family friendly porch with a swing, a charming home in Charelston, lots of golf time, a part time floral shop and maybe a grandchild or two. As my sweet friend @laracasey has famously said, 'You know all those things you've always wanted to do? You should go do them.' Amen. Happy weekend my friends! There's a new blog post up today in my #theyearofcontent series xoxo 2d

  •   sparkleigh Man alive Rhi, you are inspiring in every facet of your life. Thanks for being a great role model! 2d
  •   lbrookevents I love this. It is so important to invest and plan for the future and it's not so glamorous sometimes, which is why it's overlooked by so many people our age. Can you tell I'm a wife of a financial advisor? 2d
  •   labellefleurevents @lbrookevents agree!!! I'm crazy obsessed with my retirement lol 2d

heygorgevents One of my seemingly simple goals for 2015 is to curate bespoke and one of a kind ribbons, laces, trims and velvets for all of my gorgeous brides this season. I spend hours on each brides bouquet and think the accents on it should be just as thought out as the blooms. This specific collection of grays, blues and ivories is for a June bride and I'm waiting on some icy blue silk and crushed vintage velvet from France to add to the mix. Le sigh! #hgewedding #thedetails 4d

heygorgevents Oh @potterybarn! The #hgestudio is going to be pretty lovely with this rather large chandelier hanging in it. I can't wait for the girls to see it next week on #teamhge day and for photos with @sam_and_brad! Also I'm on the hunt for some freelance floral designers and set up help for a Seattle wedding on March 7th! Email me if you're interested :) 4d

heygorgevents Maybe it's because I grew up with a name most cannot pronounce (it's REE-Ann-IN and most call me Rhi!) or a name that's not super popular (I wanted to change my name multiple times throughout my childhood to things to Trinity or Summer ha!) but I never really had personalized things as a kid. Now as an adult with a love for snail mail and sending love to others, I must say these gorgeous personalized stationery cards from the kind @sarahdrakedesign with stunning calligraphy by @layersofloveliness (hooray for #trouvaillealum!) are just perfect. Thank you gals for thinking of me! Oh and I quite like my name now. Thanks Ma! #fleetwoodmacfans #friendors 1w

heygorgevents I'm preparing for a phone meeting today with one of my incredible 2015 clients and I just dug out this picture from last summer's property walk through for some inspiration. Jasmine and Ty's backyard garden event for 100 of their very closest friends and family is the stuff dreams are made of. Set against this lovely little yellow garden cottage and under a canopy of string lights and fresh foliage, these two will finally become husband and wife later this summer. It's going to be so magical! And gorgeous! And obviously quite special. But the part where they finally make their union official and celebrate being married really beats out anything I could ever possibly design or plan.

Late last year the wise and beyond kind @riveroakscharleston mentioned in conversation how truly important and valuable it is as planners and designers to serve our clients better instead of serving ourselves first and it really hit home for me (her words were so powerful actually that Marianne will be sharing on the topic at the @trouvailleworkshop this summer but more on that later!) Here's to serving others more and thinking of ourselves less in this industry. Here's to loving on people more intentionally while thinking less of what's in it for ourselves. Here's to delighting in the details and finding joy in the design of our work but remembering to fulfill our duties to our clients, who are always always the stars of their own show. #hgewedding #jazlersayido #secretgardensoiree

  •   lindykweim I am so grateful that my husband joined me, survived, and even liked his first bikram yoga class this morning. heygorgevents #rhisgoallist item number two: I'm back to a paleo lifestyle in 2015. While this means different things for different people for me this means no more Starbucks as meals, definitely no more donuts all day every day as a snack (this was surely a trend last year on my travels!), no more full days without a drop of water or a vegetable, and no more pop/chips/fast food/waiting until I am starving to wolf down nasty fake food. It's been a week and already the results are obvious but I'll share more soon including this delicious almond butter and banana smoothie! Any other #paleolovers out there? I would love to hear your fave recipes, tips and tricks for sticking with things! #theyearofcontent #hgeliving 3w
  •   kirbymhanson @heygorgevents you need juice plus. I take it everyday and it's just awesome! They are your daily servings of fruits and veggies in a capsule. Especially when you are traveling! Let me know if you want more info! Xo 3w
  •   jessicarourke Hi Rhiannon / @heygorgevents - you should check out @cooksmarts - I use their meal planning service and its been such a blessing. All their meals you can adapt to your needs {regular, paleo, gluten free, vegetarian}. The recipes are amazing and so healthy - you would love it!! 2w
  •   cooksmarts Thanks for recommending us @jessicarourke ! You're too awesome. @heygorgevents While we love donuts, we too are going to focus on eating more veggies this month. Success to you, and cheers to eating healthier! 2w
  •   tiffeatswell Thanks @katelynlockhart @heygorgevents let me know if you need help on you nutrition journey 2w
  •   paperandnoodles maybe someone already suggested this, I'm not reading all the way back. But as a latte lover- large tablespoon of coconut milk (solid) or coconut oil, some cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice, a little honey blended with a cup of coffee ️. Also- I try to keep a vegetable frittata in the fridge for quick meals using whatever veggies I have on hand. Caramelized onions are a great substitute for cheese. And last- chimmichuri sauce is great to have in the fridge to throw on chicken, steak or eggs when you get a little sick of them. Good luck! 2w
  •   classicallylovelyevents We just started paleo as well! I'm missing my Starbucks too... Especially with a 3 month old! 2w
  •   studiosoapco You wouldn't be disappointed from the wisdom of @wholelifenutrition ! Although not strictly paleo, they have published several invaluable cookbooks for the whole foods lifestyle. You'll find plenty paleo options through their recipe selection. 2w
  •   emilyrichett I find a good balance with a vegan diet... These are all great things you've listed! Giving up the 'bux is a tough one. 2w

heygorgevents One by one over the next couple weeks I'm going to be sharing my 2015 goals here and on the blog with you guys. Because I'll be honest, accountability is a real scary thing. And it's makes you feel vulnerable. And sometimes it's less embarrassing to fall short of a goal when no one knows the goal even existed right? So here we go; #rhisgoallist number one; I want to only go on social media, namely Facebook and IG, three times a week (or less if possible); for the rest of the year. And when I do go onto any of my accounts it has to be for a reason to either share or to support others. Yup. That just made it real. Guys, I debated even posting this here because some of you may think this is silly and hey, avoiding your apps and accounts four days of the week would be super easy; but for me this is where I am here and now. Social media sometimes fills voids in my life where other things would be a better fit and I need to train myself to act more intentionally. And well, truth be told I have so many hopes and dreams for this business and brand of mine, that I may just need more than those four days of uninterrupted dreaming and doing. What are some of your goals for the year? Anyone want to join me in my social media diet? #theyearofcontent #hgeliving #cremebrands #gwynethpaigeletterpress (letterpress cards designed by @kathrynduckett and printed by @gwynethpaige; just waiting on my custom envelopes and liners to complete my collateral set!) 3w
  •   cremebrands Gorgeous!! You're amazing my friend. 3w
  •   selenamarieevents I definitely need to learn to put the phone down, when I am with my loved ones and friends and just be intentional and live with them. I am not addicted to Social Media as I am to my TV. I recently disconnected my cable as of January 6th and honestly I am having withdraws. TV is my addiction..I could binge watch for hours! 2015 is the year for me to get in shape and fill my time wih meaningful activities that help and become a better, healthier, smarter woman! No more TV for me! 3w
  •   kirbymhanson I think I would love to just be more intentional with social media. Do less browsing and go on with purpose! 3w
  •   leanne_caroline Not silly at all. Lowering my use of social media is an ongoing goal of mine too ('ongoing' = multiple New Years' resolutions now, because it doesn't just reduce/go away overnight). I get sucked into the comparison wheel/beast. I'm always encouraged when I come across others in a similar boat - finding, for whatever reason, it too much/too negative and working on reducing. Good luck Rhi xo 3w
  •   lovely_cards So true, it takes a lot away from your day. Great post :) 2w

heygorgevents Busy as a bee working away and I look up to see this. Ha! I guess I forgot I had scheduled a meeting today with the cutest pup ever (and I swear she posed herself like that!) While I patiently wait for the new #hgestudio coffee table to arrive, you can hop over to the blog for a gorgeous new post (and there is more on @smpweddings today too). I also have a few new special blog posts coming to you in the next few weeks and am just so grateful for the new year and where my heart is today and in this season of life. I know it's just another date but January brings so much hope and perspective for me. Who is ready for 2015? Did anyone else pick a word to try and live by for the new year? I'd love to know! #theyearofcontent #hgeliving #zoegram #homegoodshappy 3w

heygorgevents 'I'm ravenous, and life looks to me so sparkly and beautiful, waiting to be devoured like a perfect apple. So I say yes, yes to everything, to that meal and that event and that trip and that person. It's so delicious, and I don't want to miss out on even one moment of it. And that's the point: I miss all sorts of sacred and significant moments, because of my frantic insistence that I can do it all.' - Shauna Niequist, Bittersweet

Sharing one last blog post of 2014 (link in profile) and it's a truly fulfilled and joyful look back at the biggest year of my life professionally. But it also comes with a personal vow to make 2015 be a year of less. Less comparison, less time wasted online, less feelings of panic that 'stuff' will fix whatever issue I could be facing, less fear of trying to please everyone. Instead there will be more contentment. More time getting lost in conversation. More time focusing on my priorities. More conviction that I'm right where I need to be. To do that it's going to require just as much efforts as this year's endeavors did but it's going to be just as sweet. A la Karen Lamb, 'A year from now, you will wish you had started today.' I hope you all have a happy, healthy and refreshing transition in 2015, my sweet friends. You deserve all of the blessings life has to offer and more. // Photo by Jen Lynne Photography. #hgeliving #hello2015 #theyearofcontent

heygorgevents I remember (and still have) the very first snail mail letter I ever received from Lara and she had signed off with a 'Love, Lara.' Not a 'best,' or a 'sincerely,' or a usual 'xoxoxo' but the word LOVE; and I could tell by what was in the rest of the letter, and by how Lara had written to me, how much weight it truly carried. Guys, beyond the all incredible @southernweddings, the life changing @mthconference and the countless other inspiring and successful brands and hats she manages and wears, Lara does everything with so much love. She is a light, a sister, an encourager, an inspiring mentor, a mother and my most favorite, a treasured friend. I love you, Lara and hope your birthday is made up of all the things that bring you the most joy! heygorgevents In college I was a NCAA gymnast for Michigan State and since our competitive season always started the first week after Christmas, we were required to travel back to campus on December 26th for practice. One year, we were expected to get a terrible ice and snow storm on Christmas Day so my parents and I made the tough decision for me to make the nearly 7 hour drive and head back to campus the afternoon of Christmas so I would arrive back safe and in one piece. At that time in 2006 (time sure does fly!) @andrewbosse and I had been dating almost a year and he kindly offered to drive back the hour from his parents so I wouldn't be by myself in my little house I shared with my non athlete roomie (hi Kalena!) We ended up watching movies all day in Apb's little college house and when it came time for dinner and we were nearly snowed in, we had to work with what he had; one family box of so-awful-for-you-but-so-good Velveeta mac and cheese. Ketchup on top. With a side of milk. We ate platefuls of the stuff that day and since we knew we would one day get married, laughed about how this would become a tradition in our home for years to come.

We've since upgraded from flimsy paper plates to these cute festive @crateandbarrel ones passed from my sweet Mom, and Andrew now makes homemade mac and cheese each year with things like bacon and gruyere cheese, but the tradition is just as sweet. Traditions make life rich. They are the glue that often holds families together. They add meaning and value to the little things that end up being the big things. And I hope from the very bottom of my heart, one day God-willing, our kids will love Christmas Day mac and cheese as much as their mom and dad do. You can bet what our day looks like over here :) Merry Christmas, sweet friends!Sending you love and peace from our home to yours.
