heatherboersma "For who do you know that really knows you, knows your heart? And even if they did, is there anything they would discover in you that you could take credit for? Isn’t everything you have and everything you are sheer gifts from God? So what’s the point of all this comparing and competing? You already have all you need. You already have more access to God than you can handle." (1 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭7-8‬ MSG) 1d

heatherboersma The truth I need today: My past mistakes don't define me. Even if I or others hold onto them, He has drown them in a sea of grace. So when I am tempted to keep track of my faults or someone else's, I will choose grace instead. 1d

heatherboersma I listened to an amazing sermon by Kris Valloton today and it rocked me. The real kick in the butt was this list: 14 Signs of True Humilty 1.You are teachable. 2. You are influencable. 3. You can take correction without defending yourself. 4. You rejoice when others are celebrated. 5. No job is too small for you. 6. You don't have to be right. 7. You naturally seek advice. 8. You actually do pray. 9. You freely admit your flaws. 10. You live to see others succeed. 11. You're not entitled 12. You are patient. 13. You let others have a better story than yours. 14. You honour people when they're talking. Which one is your "favourite"? I particularly love #3 and #10! Oh boy. 2d
  •   stephjt Awesome! #6 and #13! All these signs of true humility are also signs of a good leader, in my opinion. 2d
  •   heatherboersma @stephjt I totally agree! 2d
  •   jesswolstenholm Yes! #3 so hard. #13 & #14 are my favorites. So good. Thanks for sharing! 2d
  •   growingintruthandlove #6 is hard for me. I have to constantly try to remember it doesn't matter. 2d
  •   cjdignam Um can I just cop out and say all of them are hard for me? I so often confuse humility with my naturally submissive and quiet nature — if I'm not talking, and especially not about myself, I must be humble, right? ... yeah. 2d
  •   nelizagm @bgmurillo 2d
  •   loganlwolfram That is so good 2d

heatherboersma Time for #fridayintroductions with the lovely @moriahsunde and @lindsay_hellohue, because sometimes we forget who we're following or how we connected. I'm Heather, wife to @lighthouseexteriors, mama to #tornadoandhurricane, speaker, dreamer and recovering sugar addict. The question today is what skill are you working on this year? Other than learning how to krump, I'm trying to perfect the skill of resting well and saying no. Fun, hey? What about you? 2d

heatherboersma It takes a whole lotta mess before we get to the good stuff. So instead of trying to control, hide, push down the mess, I'm going to embrace it. #embracethemess #juicing 3d

heatherboersma You are loved, you are seen, you are known. May you bask in the light of His love, knowing that it's in this love you become all you were meant to be. Your next breakthrough may just come through rest. 5d

heatherboersma Lead me to the rock that is higher than I - higher than circumstance, experience or my understanding, higher than stress, worry or fear. That rock, the rock of ages, the firm foundation under my feet, the one who is always there. Always. 1w

heatherboersma There's this spot right close to the edge where you can sense the anticipation of what's to come, and rest in the knowledge that you don't have to do a thing to make it happen. That's the place where I'm living. Anyone else there with me? 1w
