heatherbethune Today it has been about a year since we started working towards owning this building to renovate & live in in downtown Cincinnati. We have been waiting for the city to give us permits to START the project for over 7 months. Now we can start. Thanks to everyone who has supported us in all sorts of ways through this process. We are grateful. Stick around for the rest of the story. 24h

  •   lauramcmurray Oh noooooo. Things like that make me want to throw out everything. Even cleaning out the blender after making the peanut butter feels overwhelming, ha. 24h
  •   tleecole Eeek! That's worse than my spilling raw milk in the bottom of my fridge.... You may be finding some sweet surprises when putting on your shoes for awhile and I may get blasted with a smelly fridge if there is still milk hiding! 23h

heatherbethune What if, when someone moves or is changing seasons in life, and we want to check in on them we asked, "Are you growing in family? Your community? Have you met those who will give you support?" Instead of, "Have you found a good building to attend services in once a week (church)?" Community/family is not something you just find in the phone book...they are people you must get to know, to love, to serve and let your lives weave together. It takes time. I am grateful for those who are letting me learn to be their community with grace. [Twitter credit: Mike Bickle] 5d

  •   bronzewall Amen. 5d
  •   jennismith21 I totally agree, but if I were to ask someone "have you found a church?" I would be referring to all the things you mentioned, not necessarily about the building they were meeting in. BUT my experience has been that investing in a church (in the more formal sense of the term) has led to all those other things. I think it can be both and neither are a bad thing. 5d
  •   tiffanyrose86 Preach! 5d
  •   heatherbethune @jennismith21 yeah I think some people would mean that but I get the question from people who act like the salvation of my soul is dependent on finding a church service to attend once a week. : ( I'd rather be asked these more intimate questions than have it blanketed by the "church" question. 5d
  •   jennismith21 That makes sense. I just like to recognize that they aren't mutually exclusive. But, I agree, more specific, intimate questions are always more helpful. 5d
  •   heatherbethune @jennismith21 also would like to clarify that no one who has asked me the general "church" question the way I put it above is on IG, so if you're reading this understand that this is not my passive jab at you. ; ) 4d
  •   ljcole So, seriously, have you found a church yet? Cuz... We're concerned. 4d
