heatherabbott The things we do for our children. I hate school projects. Started the base of Kade's monthly book report . Good thing he is such a grateful child. Truly, he tells me thanks for the simplest of things many times a day. I love that boy. 2d
  •   mandyoblad School projects will be the death of me. 2d
  •   heidixon At least you don't have to build an Indian diorama!!! 2d
  •   jess_hutchings You are a much better artist than me. I drew Mickey Mouse on Luke's. ;) so grateful my (I mean his) project is done. 2d
  •   heatherabbott @heidixon amen, I'm sorry for you. @jess_hutchings we better get an A:) 2d
  •   luckybroughs Emma and I (I would say mostly I) just created and dressed a 2 foot Martha Washington. At least the report was all her. I have no love for school projects. 1d

heatherabbott So out of practice with newborn photography. Who am I kidding, photography in general. I hear it's just like riding a bike. It all comes back to you;) I was lucky enough to snap a few of this precious babe for my friend and neighbor @juliannapiepkorn 2d

heatherabbott From tonight sometime during scripture reading. Anyone else feel like it's crazy time when trying to wrangle the kids together? This week on the agenda: read 2 verses each together from the scriptures and have family prayer every single night of the week. We've got a checklist on the chalkboard to remind us. Day one down. 6 more to go. Sometimes breaking things down into smaller goals is easier. Who's with us? 3d
  •   mrsdeborski I think we will join this agenda. Sometimes by bedtime I'm just ready for them all to go to bed. Lol 3d
  •   leahdarrington We just started this tonight. We have 2 weekly "challenges" 1. Try to wear the same PJ's all week. And 2. Say your personal prayers every morning before you leave the house. 3d
  •   meverett3 @leahdarrington I love your challenge number 1!! I think I'm going to start that one... And how about using the same towel more than once!! Oh and the scripture reading and prayers are awesome too. #lesslaundrymorescripturesandprayers 2d
  •   juleslovesphotos I hear ya! 2d
  •   kberk9 We did our family scriptures in the car on the way home from a family dinner tonight. It worked out wonderfully! Lately, it's the only way to contain everyone :) 2d
  •   heatherabbott @kberk9 love it. That's my favorite place to do family prayer. No one can go anywhere:) 2d
  •   rustycarrfam I love this picture, it should for sure be in an LDS pamphlet somewhere! 2d

heatherabbott This one borrowed my phone during scripture reading tonight. Looks like she was busy with other things. It did make me laugh when I noticed on my camera roll. Sorry @laurenashleeeey_ you're adorable even when you make this face. 3d
  •   bunnyhall She is so beautiful all the time :) at church she so pretty all the time you guys make beautiful kids 2d

heatherabbott Today I said, "kids, you're all getting a headshot. I don't care what else gets accomplished today except that." My house is full of outdated pictures. They hate me photographing them, but half are done in less than 2 minutes. Just need the older two and sending it off tonight for prints. Should have done it months and months ago. I think we'll kill two birds with one stone and use these images for Christmas cards. My kids will be thrilled they don't have to get dressed up. #reallife 2w

heatherabbott Steve and Kyle are gone on a campout. The four of us scored free tickets to Jabbawockeez at the Luxor. We all had a great time. My little kids were loving all the lights. They've never been to the strip. They were dying. So cute. Although there's lots of garbage down there, there's also lots we can do. I need to be better about being tourists in our own city. 2w

heatherabbott I was the mystery reader in Brandon's class today. He didn't look too excited, but I know deep down under that thick exterior of a heart he tries to have, he was happy I was there:) 2w

heatherabbott Frame shopping with these two goobers today. Kade is really going with those frames. Brandon wonders if he can take the sample glasses home to wear. I'm wondering why there's so many days off of school on November. 3w

heatherabbott Some weekends you sew and hang curtains that have been on your to do list for ages. Then you get the painting bug and tell yourself why not start that dresser project you've been meaning to do. Then you think man, this room looks tons better I should have done that 3 years ago. Then you promptly scour craigslist and purchase a new painting piece. No wonder my projects are never done. 3w
  •   aka_scabs We're cut from the same cloth #projectsforever the curtains look fab 3w
  •   weedmelissa very nice... My list is never ending 3w
  •   jess_hutchings It looks great. Can you pass that bug to me? I have way too many undone projects. 3w
  •   amber_howard Oh I bet that feels good. What is your next piece? 3w
  •   bunnyhall I have son things you can paint lol 3w
  •   lindsaystone1 Then you give a mouse a cookie and... :). Good luck with all the projects. 3w

heatherabbott Day off of school= only people in the theater. I'm staying far away from that bucket of popcorn. Don't even want to take one bite because then I'll loose my self control. We are going to watch Alexander and the Terrible, no good very bad day. On a side note, my first year teaching 1st grade with a very challenging group in an under privileged area I read this book and cried during story time. Because I was stuck in a terrible, very bad year ;) O could so relate. I never thought it would end and it was so very hard to try again everyday with so many horrible behavioral issues. I loved those kids though in the end. They didn't have much stability or consistency. But honestly I was glad to be DONE 4w
  •   ashbyhatch My first year teaching I had a really hard class too, so I know the feeling! So many mixed emotions. 4w
  •   mandyoblad We loved that movie! 4w
  •   jossiedawn Thanks for the idea of what I can do with my kiddos tomorrow! 4w
  •   amber_howard Omg. Yay for an extra day off. The popcorn. You are being so good!! And my kids want to see that movie. And you cried during story time. I remember your class. Not the kids names. But probably if you reminded me. 4w
  •   aka_scabs I died laughing at that movie and are a whole bag of popcorn too! #australiancowboys 4w
  •   carolmmonson That does look like a good idea!! 4w
  •   jess_hutchings Your experience sounds very similar to my first year teaching first grade. 4w

heatherabbott It was a fend for yourself hodgepodge dinner night. We've got 2 days off of school and it kinda feels like Friday over here. Poor man child was gone at lacrosse until 9. He came home famished. Shoveling it in while waiting for more food to heat up. He's a tad annoyed by me and the camera. 4w

heatherabbott They are supposed to be doing chores and school projects. Since they are getting along, I'll let it slide. It's nice to hear laughing and cooperating instead of the usual. 1mon
  •   kimchurch Looks like they just finished shining the floors! 1mon
  •   jenrosemakeup @kimchurch no kidding!! Sparkling!! 1mon
  •   beckymersereau I agree, what do u use to shine those wood floors with? I need some of it! 1mon

heatherabbott School fall festival tonight. Someone is beyond excited his costume came together and the fact that he talked me into letting him go shirtless tonight. It's all for authenticity sake. Let the fun of the kids and suffering of the parents begin. 1mon

heatherabbott It's brutal getting this kid pinned down to read for 15 minutes every night. I hate it. Every single day I hate it. I know it's good for him, but good golly Miss Molly it's gotta get better. His method of reading today so he didn't have to hold the book. I love that kid. I'll keep reminding myself of that tomorrow at 4pm when we tackle this again. 2mon
  •   amber_howard I thought he was sleeping. Haha! 2mon
  •   lerlerlemmon Creative way to read! And my boys fight me every night also, it's so frustrating. 2mon
  •   candacetodd Oh, that is too funny! 2mon
  •   jess_hutchings I thought he was sleeping too. 2mon
  •   cecilfamily The battle is the same at my house. My oldest even tried busting out a junie B jones book and was mad when I said it didn't count. Almost 12 yr olds don't get to read junie b jones. 2mon

heatherabbott It's slow going this morning. Nobody wants to get out of bed. Me included. Somedays I wish we could cozy up on the couch all day and snuggle and not worry about responsibilities and obligations. 2mon
