healthy_cravings Vegan Yellow Rice with Curried Prawns
•4 cups uncooked Thai Jasmine Rice •Vegetarian Plus Vegan Shrimp •1/2 cup full-featured coconut milk or non-gmo soy milk •1/4 cup crisp fried shallots •1/2 cup coconut, grapeseed, safflower, or refined olive oil (add oil from frying the shallots to help with making a 1/2 cup of oil) •1/4 cup green peas •1/4 cup raisins •1/4 cup water •*fresh vegetables: lettuce and cucumber slices
1. To make a seasoned water: Boil 8 cups water over medium-low heat. Add 3 pieces cinnamon (1" long), 2 pods cardamom, 3 cloves, and 1/2 tsp turmeric powder. Stir until water turns golden. Season with 3Tbsp sea salt.
2. Wash Jasmine rice (3 times) and drain. Par-boil in the boiling seasoned water, keep stirring to prevent from sticking. Cook for 7 minutes or until the rice is partly cooked (al dente).
3. In another pot, combine 2 Tbsp. oil, 2 Tbsp Earth Balance Vegan butter, and 2 pieces of cinnamon (1" long ) together over medium heat. Add 3 Tbsp sliced shallot, fry until golden and fragrant. Add 1 tsp each of mustard seed, fenugreek seed, and cumin seed, 1 Tbsp ground coriander, 1 tsp ground cumin, 1 tsp Indian chili powder (or regular chili powder), and 1 tsp turmeric powder. Fry until the spices are fragrant, add 2 chopped onions, 1 chopped tomato, and 2 chopped spur chilies (optional). Cook until vegetables are done. Season with 1 tsp sea salt, 2 tsp organic cane or coconut sugar, and 2 Tbsp vegan plain yogurt. Add 10 Vegan tiger prawns (shrimp) and reduce to low heat. Cook 3-4 minutes.
4. Remove Par-boiled rice with a slotted spoon and add to fried prawns. Pour in milk and oil from the fried shallot. Add green pea and raisins then cover. Cook for 20 minutes or until the rice is cooked through. Remove the cover and turn off heat. Mix saffron or (saffron like powder ) with water, stir well into cooked rice. Sprinkle with crisp-fried shallot.
5. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce and fresh vegetables. *Serves 8*

healthy_cravings Since I was 17 years old I suffered from Acne, I had my excellent clear skin days and then I would break out all over. My acne truly reared its ugly head when I conceived my daughter as the hormones raged, so did my acne. It wasn't until after I gave birth and I decided to leave my face alone (no cleansers or oils just washed my face with plain ole' water!) that it finally started to clear. I have maintained my skin with this simple and natural regimen. I am not claiming that this will work for everyone but many people have given me great feedback when they have tried it! =0)

1. I recently started to wash my face every morning and night with COLD water (I no longer use warm - reasons why are stated below) while using my handheld battery powered facial brush (shown in photo) along with Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean Face Wash - Original (Oily & Combination Skin), I have oily skin so if you have dry or combination skin then they have 1 for your skin type. I wash in a gentle circular motion and use upward strokes as pulling down on your skin with force causes sagging and wrinkles. Cold water will take some getting use to but it is worth it!

2. I rinse my skin with COLD water and PAT (not rub) it leaving it a little damp. I then apply Dr. Schulze's Jojoba & Tea Tree Oil (Found at: in a circular motion (using upward strokes) OR you can buy a pure essential oil and combine the two as these 2 oils are amazing together for the skin. That's it!

3. I also EXFOLIATE 2 times per week (before proceeding with the full regimen above) with Earth Therapeutics Loofah Complexion Pads (Found at: OR and REMEMBER to exfoliate your LIPS too! Men as well as Women should exfoliate to remove dead skin cells that can clog the pores and cause breakouts.

healthy_cravings I love carrot juice because it is healing & cleanses the body. When I would get hydrocolonotherapy, it was recommended to drink 24oz. of fresh carrot juice the day before my appointment. The Vitamin A assists the liver in flushing out the toxins from the body. It reduces the bile and fat in the liver. The fibers present in carrots help clean out the colon and hasten waste movement.

How to Use Carrot Pulp left over from juicing: •Option #1: Use the pulp immediately after juicing so that it is at its freshest state.
•Option #2: Put the pulp in a zip lock bag or a glass container with a tight-lid and store in your fridge and use within a few days.
•Option #3: Freeze your pulp for future use.
1. Make a yummy guacamole with the pulp!

2. Use the pulp into your baked goods (vegetable or fruit pulp depending on what you are baking). 3. Boost your pancakes with the fruit pulp: Sprinkle a little fruit pulp, especially from the berries, apples, and pineapple onto your pancake mix.

4. Add fruit or veggie pulp to your next healthy smoothie: I prefer using the fruit pulp here but you may use the veggies too (ie. Carrot & Apple). 5. Fortify your "meat" balls or burgers with veggie pulp: Your burgers will never taste the same again. Use a mix of beet, carrot, celery, parsley or other greens and bon appetit!

6. Spread a little pulp over your pizza before baking: For this one, I like using spinach, celery, parsley, carrot and onions or even pineapple. Enjoy!

7. Make the best soup stock with your veggie pulp: If you want soup stock with tons of flavor, veggie pulp is an excellent as a base. Use pulp of tomatoes, onions, celery, carrots, and garlic for best results.

8. Mix some pulp into your next Italian dish, pasta or lasagna sauce: Add some of the veggie pulp, especially carrot, tomato, onion and herbs such as parsley and cilantro, into your pasta or lasagna sauces.

Vegan Biscoff-Pecan Baked Peaches (Baked peaches topped with crushed Biscoff cookies, pecans, and vegan vanilla or banana ice cream.) Source:
Ingredients: ·3 peaches, halved
·1/2 cup crushed Vegan Biscoff cookies (or experiment w/ others)
·1/4 cup pecans, chopped (or whichever nut or seed you prefer)
·1 tbsp brown or coconut sugar
·2 tbsp cold vegan butter (Earth Balance)
·cinnamon for sprinkling
Instructions: - Preheat oven to 375 degrees; grease baking pan or sheet.
Slice the peaches in half and remove pit.
- In a food processor crush Biscoff cookies then place in a small bowl.
Stir in chopped pecans and brown sugar.
- Fold in cold butter and mix until the mixture forms into a crumb topping; set aside
- Sprinkle cinnamon on top and bake peaches for 20 minutes.
- Remove from oven and scoop 1 tbsp of crumb topping into the center of each peach half.
- Continue baking for 10-15 minutes until peaches are tender.
- Top with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Garnish with cinnamon and pecans if desired. Enjoy!

4 medium sweet potatoes*
1 15-ounce can chickpeas, rinsed and drained
1/2 Tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp each cumin, coriander, cinnamon, smoked (or regular) paprika
Optional: Pinch of sea salt or lemon juice
1/4 cup hummus (or tahini)
juice of 1/2 lemon (~1 Tbsp)
1 tsp dried dill (or sub 2-3 tsp fresh)
3 cloves garlic, minced
Water or unsweetened almond milk to thin
Optional: Sea salt to taste (I didn’t need any)
*TOPPINGS: (Optional)
1/4 cup cherry tomatoes, diced
1/4 cup chopped parsley, minced
2 Tbsp lemon juice
Chili garlic sauce
·Preheat oven to 400 degrees and line a large baking sheet with foil.
Rinse and scrub potatoes and cut in half length wise. This will speed cooking time. Otherwise leave whole and bake longer (approximately double the time (45 min - 1 hour).
·Toss rinsed and drained chickpeas with olive oil and spices and place on a foil-lined baking sheet.
·Rub the sweet potatoes with a bit of olive oil and place face down on the same baking sheet (or another baking sheet depending on size).
·While the sweet potatoes and chickpeas are roasting, prepare your sauce by adding all ingredients to a mixing bowl and whisking to combine, only adding enough water to almond milk to thin so it’s pourable. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. Add more garlic for more zing, salt for savoriness, lemon juice for freshness, and dill for a more intense herb flavor. I found mine didn’t need anything else. healthy_cravings Vegan lunch ideas have always been a challenge for this woman. Lunch in general has always been a challenge, actually.

Breakfast is easy. There’s cereal, coconut yogurt with granola & berries, vegan pancakes, hash browns with veggies, french toast, etc. Dinner is not necessarily easier in terms of ideas, but at that point in the day, she is more eager to make something interesting.

Lunch, on the other hand, is right in the middle of her day, which disrupts her work routine, and just frustrates her. So – she usually has either breakfast for lunch, or leftovers from dinner the night before.

healthy_cravings When I have left overs in my refrigerator.. I make stew, soup, stir-fry, or goulash! Well, tonight is Goulash night! What do you do with your left overs in the fridge?
Macaroni Vegan Goulash
Serves 2-3

1 cup macaroni
1 cup frozen veggie crumbles (mock ground beef)
1 cups mushrooms, sliced (not in photo but optional)
1 cup frozen sweet white corn
1 onion, chopped
1 stalk celery, diced
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 bay leaf
1/2 tsp sea salt (use less if your canned tomatoes contain salt)
1/2 tsp coconut sugar (or other)
1/4 tsp dried mixed herbs
1/4 tsp smoked paprika
1 Tbsp tomato paste (puree)
1 15oz. can  or fresh peeled whole tomatoes with juice
*grated vegan cheeze or daiya cheddar cheese* optional
SIDE NOTE: Feel free to add other veggies like peas and carrots! ·Put the water on for the pasta and cook according to package directions. Meanwhile in a large pot heat the olive oil and gently fry the onion, celery, mushrooms and bay leaf with some ground black pepper until onions are soft and the mushrooms are cooked. ·Stir in the garlic and tomato paste, then add the tomatoes (as well as the other veggies), salt and herbs. Stir well roughly breaking up the tomatoes as you do. Add the veggie crumbles and about 2/3 cup water. Turn heat up and cook until "meat" is cooked and the sauce has thickened up then stir in the drained pasta. If using add the vegan cheeze or daiya and stir until melted. Dish goes lovely with some buttered soft rolls or garlic bread. ;-)

I introduced 2 different veggies every 3 days and increased different veggies after that so I wouldn't shock her digestive tract. I gave her fruits after. Didn't want to introduce it first as when you give sweets too early kids can become picky eaters and not want veggies because they start craving only sweet foods.   •   healthy_cravings Whenever London wanted to breastfeed I breastfed her. It is totally up to YOU. Being you know your child better than anyone make your decision based on your child's needs. I would bf London in the morning before abd after her bath. I would give her solids in the early afternoon and at night when I started to keep her full during the night so she wouldn't wake up hungry since breastmilk digests quickly. As she got older I gave more solids than breastmilk. @1inamil001 4d

healthy_cravings Vegan Pumpkin Pie Parfait w/ Coconut Whip and Crunchy Granola

·Pumpkin Pie Smoothie·
6 frozen pumpkin puree cubes
½ frozen banana
¾ cup non-dairy milk
¼ cup walnuts
¾ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp pumpkin pie spice
1-3 tbsp maple syrup
2 tsp molasses
¼ tsp vanilla ·Coconut Whip·
1 can of high quality chilled coconut cream (look for one with as few ingredients as possible. Choose a brand with the highest percentage of coconut, if listed on the ingredient list.) Thai Kitchen, Savoy (70%), and Native Forest are some good options.)
2 tbsp maple syrup
¼ tsp vanilla ·Parfait·
1 recipe pumpkin pie smoothie
⅓ cup+ coconut whip
½ cup+ granola (look for GF/soy free if necessary)
cinnamon sprinkle
molasses drizzle (optional)

·Coconut Whip·
Simply place your canned coconut cream in the fridge until well chilled. Then, turn the can upside down and open the "bottom" of the can. With good quality coconut cream, half of the can should be a thick coconut milk and the other half should be a thick, dense layer of coconut cream.
Scoop the thick cream into a bowl, add a dash of vanilla extract and 2 tbsp maple syrup.
Whip on high until light and fluffy.

healthy_cravings *Natural Remedies For Coughs* · Inhale oil of Eucalyptus which is an expectorant and decongestant. (I sell essential oils)*** · Take raw organic honey with lemon which will ease the cough & encourage healing.
· Eat a ripe banana with 1 tsp of raw organic honey & 2 pinches of ground black pepper 2 to 3 times a day.
· Boil 1 cup of coconut or almond milk (any nut milk) with  a teaspoon of turmeric & a teaspoon of ginger at night before bed. This will relieve the cough due to pharyngitis or laryngitis.
· Try chewing anjwan mixed with 1 teaspoon of coconut sugar.
· Mix 1/4 ground black pepper & 1 teaspoon of raw organic honey and eat it on a full stomach, two or three times a day for 3-5 days.

healthy_cravings London is a picky eater and she prefers texture in her baby food now.  So, I do not puree her food completely.
In this particular meal I added 1 cup of steamed organic green peas, 1 minced organic garlic clove, 2 pinches of organic turmeric, 1 pinch of organic Himalayan pink salt and about 3 tablespoons of distilled water to a blender and pulsed it a few times before adding it to this cute mason jar I got from Wal-Mart. She loved it!

SIDE NOTE: I added the turmeric, garlic, and Himalayan pink salt for its healing properties.
