Delicious as sweet and spicy spread, dipping sauce, or condiment to add to your curries. Most of these ingredients are found in Indian Markets or online.

HOW DO YOU MAKE ( OR ) USE YOUR MANGO CHUTNEY?

Ingredients:
•1 tablespoon avocado or sesame oil
•2 teaspoons fresh ginger, finely minced
•2 cloves garlic, finely minced
•1 red chili, sliced
•2 teaspoons whole nigella seeds •1 teaspoon ground coriander
•½ teaspoon ground cumin
•¼ teaspoon turmeric
•¼ teaspoon ground cardamom
•¼ teaspoon ground cloves
•¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
•¼ teaspoon sea salt
•4-5 mangoes, peeled and diced
•2 cups cane sugar
•1 cup white or Apple cider vinegar

Instructions:
- Heat the oil over medium-high in a medium stock pot. Saute the ginger, garlic and red chilies for a minute. - Add the spices and saute for another minute. Add the diced mangoes, sugar, salt, and vinegar and stir to combine. Bring it to a rapid boil and reduce to medium-low. Steady simmer for 1 hour. - Remove from heat and allow it to cool. If you prefer smaller chunks, use a potato masher to mash the mixture to the desired consistency. - For storage, chutney will keep for a while because of the high acidity content. A conservative time frame would be up to 2 months in the fridge (in a sealed jar) or for several months in the freezer. Canning of course yields the longest shelf-life.

I stole this idea from my parents which is putting lotion next to the soap so when people are done washing their hands they can put some lotion on because no one wants to have dry and ashy hands, especially in the Winter time here in Northern, VA!

One of the more recent trends in making your home "classy" is by putting rocks in your sink. Easy and cheap and a great way to "spruce up" the "boring" part of the house. Most people use the small decorative rocks that you can buy from Target, Wal-Mart, Michaels, or The Dollar Store (depending on cheapness). We got ours from Target. I DO NOT suggest putting the rocks in your Master or Kids bathroom where you brush your teeth... A powder room is ideal as it is just used when guests come over to wash their hands, etc.

No matter what size rocks you are using your sink will still get dirty. Actually, it will get extra dirty. It won’t look dirty, as the rocks neatly curve to hide all the dirt and filth you wash into the sink. But because the rocks put up a wall for the water, a lot of buildup can happen. There are 2 ways around this. You can either take the rocks out of the sink about once a month and clean the rocks and under there (easy if you have big rocks, more difficult if you have small ones). Otherwise, you can move the rocks around in the sink about 2 times a week. Nothing drastic, just a small move to avoid buildup happening in the exact same place.

Ingredients:
•4 cups onion, finely minced
•1 ½ oz. dried porcini mushrooms
•4 cups warm water
•3 cup celery stalks, finely minced
•3 cup carrots, finely minced
•2 cups baby portabella mushrooms, finely minced
•1 bulb garlic, peeled and squeezed with garlic press or minced
•2 cups Italian parsley
•¼ tsp. dried oregano
•¼ tsp. dried thyme
•½ tsp. rosemary
•1 cup dry red wine
•30 oz tomato sauce
•2 bay leaves
•2 vegetable bouillon cubes (crumbed)
•pepper to taste (or not)

Instructions:
-In a soup pot, sauté onion over medium high heat for about 15 minutes. You can dry sauté at first. The onions should have enough moisture to keep them from sticking to the post. After the first 15 minutes, turn the heat to medium and continue to cook for another 30 minutes. At this point you can add stock as needed to keep onion from sticking to pot. The onions will be very soft and golden brown. This step is KEY. The onions need to cook for a good, long time.
Because the onions take a long time to cook down, this is a good time to prepare the other ingredients.
-Soak dried mushrooms in 4 cups warm water.
-After onions have cooked down, add celery and carrots to pot and cook 10 more minutes.
-Bring heat back to medium high and add the portabella mushrooms, garlic, parley, oregano, thyme and rosemary. Stir and cook about 5 minutes.
-Drain mushrooms, reserving liquid. (You can pour the liquid through a paper towel or coffee filter to remove any fine grit.)
-Finely mince porcini mushrooms and add to pot.
-Push all ingredients in the pot to the outside edge, leaving the center of the pot clear and open. Add the wine and cook wine down for about three minutes.
-Next add the tomato sauce, reserved mushroom liquid, bay leaves and bouillon cubes.
Bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and cook for 1 ½ hours, stirring occasionally.
-Remove cover and cook on medium until much of the liquid cooks off, leaving a rich, dark, thick sauce (about ½ hour).
-Salt and pepper to taste.
-This sauce is great served over baked polenta, pasta, gnocchi, ravioli or zucchini and squash noodles.

healthy_cravings In the picture is another drink recipe to help fight colds and viruses. I'm sure many of you have heard of a Hot Toddy and there are different versions. I normally boil my apple juice, cloves, cinnamon sticks in a@pot and add the Brandy to it after. However for children the revision would be best to omit the Brandy and water and just do the organic non-concentrated apple juice.

FLU BUSTING DRINK

•1-2 cinnamon sticks
•3 thick slices of fresh ginger •Few dashes or 1/4 tsp (if you're feeling brave) of Cayenne Pepper
•Juice of 1 lemon
•1 tsp raw honey (or even better, Manuka honey) OR Blackstrap Molasses to make it Vegan
•5-6 whole cloves •2 cloves raw garlic
•Boiling filtered water

Bash or Grind cinnamon, ginger, cayenne, garlic and cloves (if using) in a mortar and pestle. Put in a thermos and add lemon juice, honey and boiling water. Drink and Refill throughout the day.

*Baking Soda: Start by mixing 1 part baking soda with 3 parts water. I have bra-strap length thick/curly hair and mix about 4 to 5 tablespoon of baking soda with 3 times that amount of water in a small squeeze bottle. You can adjust this depending on your hair length. _
•Apply the baking soda and water mixture to wet hair by starting at the roots and working to the ends.

•Let it sit for 1 - 3 minutes then rinse with warm (not hot) water.

•After washing and rinsing with the baking soda mixture, you'll want to apply a vinegar (I prefer Apple cider vinegar) rinse.
_
*Vinegar Rinse: Mix 1 part white or apple cider vinegar with 4 parts water. To minimize the vinegar smell, You can add lavender, peppermint, and/or rosemary essential oils to the vinegar mixture. You can mix a big batch of this ahead of time and keep it in a squeeze bottle in the shower. _
•Tilt your head back, close your eyes (to avoid getting this mixture in your eyes), and distribute through your hair. Make sure to gently massage your hair and scalp in a circular motion (encourages blood flow/circulation which results in faster hair growth)

•If you have longer hair like I do, I like to then (still keeping my eyes closed) tilt my head forward and distribute more rinse through the ends.
_
•After a few seconds, rinse with cold water. The cold water helps to seal in moisture, smooth the hair, add shine, and also helps hair not to shed (fall out). _____

INGREDIENTS: •2 large ripe peaches (you have to use freestone peaches or you will smoosh them trying to get the pit out, trust me, I learned this the hard way)
•1 tsp olive oil or grape seed oil •2 tsp brown sugar
•optional: cinnamon

DIRECTIONS: - Heat grill pan to medium high (7 out of 10)
- Cut peaches in half and remove pit. Gently rub 1/4 tsp oil over the inner flat side and the roundest part of the outside. (The goal here is to get a little bit of the oil wherever the peach will touch the pan without leaving an oil coating on the sides where it won’t cook off. Go with about a quarter-sized circle on the outside)
- Grill the peaches on the outside first for about 3 minutes.
- Flip and grill the flat inside 3-5 minutes until it has char lines & is just softening
- Lay on a plate and sprinkle with brown sugar and optional cinnamon

You have beautiful grilled peaches, now what?... 1. Eat them as is- enjoy the mess!
2. Serve them hot with a scoop of vanilla ice cream (or vegan ice cream)
3. Chop and toss in a leafy salad (vegan cheese & arugula & pine nuts, yum!)
4. Serve atop pancakes (or even better crepes) with some fresh whipped coconut cream

•A Crapload (~5 cups) of Restaurant Style Tortilla Chips (I love Trader Joe’s brand)
•3/4 cup Cashew-less Vegan Queso (recipe link: http://bit.ly/1utaTsR)
•3/4 cup cooked Black Beans
•1/3 cup Guacamole (1 ripe avocado + 1/4 tsp sea salt + 1 lime, juiced)
1/2 – 3/4 cup Chunky Salsa
•Fresh Jalapeños and Red Onion, sliced (optional)
•Hot Sauce (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS:
- If you haven’t prepared your vegan queso yet, do that first (recipe link in the ingredients).
- Once your queso is ready (and hot), heat up your black beans in a small saucepan and season with a little sea salt and desired spices (I love garlic, cumin and chili powder).
- Next, prepare your guacamole by mashing your avocado with lime juice and sea salt. Adjust seasonings as needed.
- Arrange your chips on a large serving platter and add toppings in desired order. I like black beans first, then queso, salsa, guacamole, red onion, jalapeno and cilantro. Add whatever else your heart desires!!! Enjoy immediately.

healthy_cravings This pizza was well deserved last night and might I add... Delish! This is my CHEAT MEAL after detoxing... But most people wouldn't consider this cheating! More like #HealthyJunkFood LOL!

I sliced and simply roasted white mushrooms, zucchini, eggplant, and red onions using grape seed oil and Himalayan sea salt on 400•F for about 10-15 minutes uncovered. Remove from the oven and set aside. DO NOT turn off the oven as you will need it to cook the assembled pita pizza.

I then prepared my Organic 12" Pita Pizza Bread I bought from Wegmans grocery store and poured Organic Pizza Sauce (you can also make your own from scratch - Google a recipe) all over the pita pizza crust then I generously sprinkled tons of Bob Red Mill Nutritional Yeast all over the pizza sauce and then lightly added Daiya Vegan cheddar cheese (Next time I will OMIT the cheese as it doesn't need it in my opinion). After, I sliced some fresh heirloom tomatoes and placed them all over the pizza.

I then add the roasted veggies onto the pitta pizza crust: Eggplant, Zucchini, Red Onions, and Mushrooms. I placed the pizza back into the oven and baked for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and let it sit for about 5 minutes then slice and serve! Enjoy. =0)

I'm back from DETOXING! I'm currently writing a small blog about our experience which was amazing. Can you believe that I didn't have any Social Media withdrawals like I thought I would. LOL! The detox was definitely a blessing to my husband and I. Well worth it! Did I miss anything while I was gone???

My husband and I are gearing up and preparing for our week long Full Body Cleanse (including a Spiritual Cleanse), Home Detoxing (De-Cluttering and Re-Organizing our home) as well as doing a Social Media fast which is well overdue as being on social media can be draining and time consuming. I will be typing up everything we are doing in Full Detail (including grocery list/raw food recipes/prayers/detoxing methods (hair, mouth, body, skin, etc.)/How to declutter your home and organize it better...
