harlemsfashionrow @danielleprescod has always had a love for fashion. She stated in an interview with the Fashion Culturalist, "I honestly think it chose me", being that this was always the industry for her. At first, Prescod attended New York University where she was a student in the College of Arts & Sciences program. That particular school was so regimented, that she couldn't pursue fashion internships without interfering with her classes. Then, she later enrolled into the Gallatin School of Individualized Study, where she made her own major, that had room for flexibility. Paving the way for her career, she interned with Peter Som, Nylon Magazine, Refinery29, W Magazine, and Teen Vogue. She is the definition of working your way up to the top. Turning internships into a dream career of being a Fashion Editor at Elle.com. We are so happy to highlight @danielleprescod for today's #WorkFashionWednesday, we applaud you for all of the hard work you've done! #HFRNYC #FashionInColor #WFW 1d

harlemsfashionrow Born in Alabama but raised in Somalia, Ayaan and Idyl Mohallim @mataano -- the founders and identical twins behind the label Mataano -- returned to the U.S. at age nine as civil war erupted back home. Living just outside Washington, D.C., in Northern Virginia, the twins turned to fashion as a way of understanding their new surroundings. As first-generation Americans, their family pushed them toward "serious paths at serious universities" -- but the twins had their eyes set on fashion and they moved to New York after school. Within days of arriving in the city, Idyl landed an internship with Betsey Johnson and Ayaan got a production job at Jill Stuart. They came together to launch Mataano in 2008. Their easy-chic clothes quickly landed them an appearance on Oprah and invitations to shows in South Africa, Sweden, Jamaica and at New York Fashion Week. We are happy to have Ayaan and Idyl as today's #TalkDesignerTuesday

harlemsfashionrow Hello HFR supporters we want to hear your feedback! If HFR were to have an event what would be a great theme or topic of discussion? 3w
  •   harlemsfashionrow @evelynlambert27 that is a wonderful topic . Thank you! 3w
  •   yes_lord58 That is an awesome topic! 3w
  •   starlettosstyle @evelynlambert27 great topic but it's very simple. If a celeb uses it then its certifiably good enough for the average person. They are at the top of our visibility food chain so that's why we yearn for them to be ambassadors because of their influence with the masses.Celeb certification has always been a sure way to translate into sales and now we have digital celebs who are also Influential. 1w
  •   missmahoganyphilly I would like to see a event to explore black owned boutiques. Where the are located, what makes them unique. How we can connect designers and boutiques. 2d

harlemsfashionrow @Iamnaomicampbell had a passion to walk the runway at the age of 15. Campbell's rise to supermodel status began when she was the first black supermodel to cover French and British Vogue, as well as being the first black model to cover Time at the age of 18. Her career began to soar after seeking high-profile advertising campaigns for fashion icons such as Ralph Lauren and Francois Nars. In addition to her modeling career, Naomi expanded her talents into television. Where She developed her own reality TV series, known as The Face, which was launched in 2013. Furthermore, Campbell has demonstrated her acting skills with a role in the exhilarating hit show, Empire. Naomi Campbell has paved the way in the fashion industry, and she stretches her talents in other areas while inspiring others, that's why we are highlighting her as today's #WorkFashionWednesday! #HFRNYC #FashionInColor #WFW 3w

harlemsfashionrow At an early age @JasonRembert has had a natural eye for creating unique pieces that would turn his passion of being a fashion stylist into reality. Jason has had editorial highlights in major magazines such as Vogue, Giant, Vibe, and Uptown, to name a few. In addition to being an eminent celebrity image maker, that paved a way for his career in styling. Due to lack of resources, he began assisting editorial shoots for Harper's Bazaar, Elle, and W magazine. With networking with people in the business, he gained opportunities to become a successful and respected fashion stylist. For Jason styling lets him create a well-executed image, that combines elements of classic style, with a modern twist. Here is a picture of his fashion styling. You can see why we are highlighting him as today's #WorkFashionWednesday for his incredible work! #HFRNYC #FashioninColor 4w
