hannahadkison This, my friends, is Frankling.
Him and his brother, Jesus, are orphans that live on El Ayudante's property, in a house a few short leaps from the school we're staying in. You never really see him sitting still, so it's amazing the picture isn't a blur of him running off to ask if he can help us cook or to ask if we will ride bikes with him or just him running off to get into trouble.

Today he found my headlamp and was sticking his head into every dark corner imaginable, completely fascsinated by it.
Petzl, you might sell your gear to professional climbers and mountaineers so they can explore the nooks and crannies of this wide world, but this little 7-year-old Nicaraguan boy found adventure and joy in the nooks and crannies of a dusty old school room.
I guess adventure is in the eye of the beholder.

hannahadkison "Aiden, please read the pages I've marked. God loves you and I want you to see that. Please try to read the verses. -Rebekah"
This is written in the bible my 12-year-old sister marked with all her favorite verses and is going to give this boy in her grade.
I was just sitting in my quiet time with The Lord asking him "How do I do this? This is hard, harder than I expected and I'm being stretched a thousand times more than I want to be. Pleeeaaaaase teach me how to live well in this season you've brought me to." My mom sent me this right after that. God's answer was, "Simply, and with love. With bold, urgent love." Pretty humbled by Bekah's love this morning.

hannahadkison Yesterday afternoon, our last day of ministry, was spent eating lunch at Pastor Eliseo's house (his wife Claudia is a BOMB cook). We brought an Estados Unidos dessert for them- OREO BALLS. And yes, Claudia definitely asked for the recipe.
Full to the brim from the most delicious lunch, we sat on their beautiful lawn, played guitar, worshiped, laid in the grass, chatted, and cat-napped in the sun. It was beautiful and so full of Señor Jesus.
Arnold and Claudia are such obedient servants. Their dream, and the Calling on their life, is that their church would be the Antioch of Guatemala, with church plants everywhere and people from all over the country coming to know The Lord. Please join me in praying for this insanely wonderful vision and that God would see it through!!

hannahadkison Tomorrow my best friend turns 23 and I won't be in her parent's kitchen eating good food and cookie cake and laughing about life and it makes me want to maybe cry but I'm keeping it together. I love you soooooooooo much more than you know, Hannah Rebeka, and I can't wait to hug your 23-year-old (married) self in 10 short months :) 4w

hannahadkison Everyday we take a bus from Santa Cruz (where we're living) to Chajbal to get to our demolition site. The bus drops us off and we hike down a little mud road that runs along a river where women are washing their clothes and into the most beautiful Guatemalan countryside. We keep our tools in the brick oven of a house nearby and everyday as we pick up and drop off our tools, these sweet faces greet us, peeking out from the windows and doors, giggling and smiling from ear to ear. We don't get much local-people interaction at our ministry site, what with it being in the middle of the countryside and us being the only people working there. So, this bit of sweet interaction each day makes my heart soar.
They are so beautiful, aren't they?

hannahadkison Meet Marta, a sweet little 4 year old (she's really smart for her age) in the kindergarten class we played with for the last two days. She was shy at first, but by the end of today she was talking to me and giving us hugs! 1mon
