gretchenesmith Learned this trick from my friend @detailgalblog when my kids are sick so I don't have to look all over for each needed "get well" item. Only thing not in this bag or dish of tricks are onion slices :-) 2w
  •   gretchenesmith @lynelle9 I do give it to my kids. Basically if anyone is sick I load them up with just about all of it. This one sprays so we can use it in eyes too for irritation or pink eye. 2w
  •   gretchenesmith @symers79 it's an old home remedy, but I think it helps. Onions absorb toxins. So, I have a whole onion in each bedroom & if anyone gets sick I slice some off, place it on the bottom of their feet, cover with socks to keep in place and then sleep with them all night. 2w
  •   gretchenesmith @michellecaseysmith sorry forgot to tag you as all in the post above. 2w
  •   gretchenesmith @koosi I feel like they all help in their own way and this season so far we have had no colds and only this week fevers in 2 kids. But, compared to other times they've been sick it's much more mild. I'm so thankful! 2w
  •   gretchenesmith @nicolekrenzin Coen had a fever on Monday and then Tuesday evening Tegan stared feeling sick. She's been home from school since and finally beginning to feel better today! 2w
  •   detailgalblog Glad to hear they're on the mend. 2w
  •   symers79 Thanks for the info @gretchenesmith 2w
  •   symers79 I'm glad your kiddos are on the mend! 2w

gretchenesmith If you know me, then you know there was a point in my life where I had a tall extra hot chai tea latte from Starbucks almost every day. Because of budget & blood sugar I have cut back quite a bit. But, lately every time I have one I don't feel well and my blood sugar levels aren't in a good range for me. So, this is hitting the spot most afternoons. Except when I feel great & decide to drive through starbucks. Only to regret it and wait a longer period before hitting the drive-through again. #notreadytosaygoodbyeforever 2mon
  •   detailgalblog Ha! Are you adding some kind of milk? Insert cheese for extra hot chai & that's me. Though I've been almost completely dairy-free for a good while. Minus the lasagna (which I posted so I could remember the last time I had dairy!) 2mon
  •   gretchenesmith I add organic 1/2 n 1/2 and some honey. But, overall healthier and a lot less sugar & other random ingredients. Are we getting old? Lol 2mon
  •   rightnowraw Yay! It is ORGANIC 2mon
  •   koosi I love making a chai latte with the organic tea bags:) I steam some soy and add it to the steeped tea..Mmmm!! @gretchenesmith 2mon

gretchenesmith We've done Tylenol 3x, but other than that this is what we've been using and it's done the trick at keeping the fever down. 3mon

gretchenesmith Want to replace organic raw sugar in my morning coffee with this. Anyone else try this yet? Thoughts? 3mon
  •   detailgalblog I did. For awhile. Then ended up just adding no sugar. 3mon
  •   alysonjmoore I use it for all my baking but not in my coffee. I don't think it tastes good in coffee but I'm also a creamer addict. :) 3mon
  •   br0berts0n Tried it and hated it. Too dark for coffee. Organic evaporated cane juice for us 3mon
  •   gretchenesmith Thanks @ashcordesius. I'll try it for baking for sure. @detailgalblog I'm literally down to 1/4tsp, so I should just go all the way without. @alysonjmoore I've never done the flavored creamers so don't really like them. I do however, love full fat 1/2 n 1/2!! 3mon
  •   mrs.candelaria I usually make a batch of homemade creamer each week while I do food prep. Equal parts organic full fat half & half & organic whole milk, mixed with organic grade a maple syrup & a couple cinnamon sticks thrown in. I bring it to a boil then turn the heat off & add an entire vanilla bean (Sliced down the center with the insides scraped into the milk) Let that sit for about 30 minutes then strain it into a glass jar. You can adjust the sweetness however you like. Super good & so much better for you than the store bought creamers! @gretchenesmith 3mon
  •   derekthompson79 Not sure if you have read the latest news with TJ's? Be careful. .. A lot of what they have is not actually "organic" and they are not transparent of where their products come from. 3mon
  •   gretchenesmith @derekthompson79 I have read that too. I think what I realized is that if it says certified organic then it actually is. But, not to assume everything else there is healthy too. If it's not organic, it could be anything. I think most people and myself included assumed that the graham crackers there were better for me than the brand name from Walmart. But, that's not necessarily the case. They may in fact be the very same graham cracker (to use that as an example). 3mon
  •   derekthompson79 I miss having access to a big gargen. 3mon

gretchenesmith The best preventative medicine against the cold & flu season. Cup of hot water, 2tsp organic unfiltered apple cider vinegar. Its not too bad, but I prefer to add organic raw honey for added health benefits and to sweeten it up a bit. 3mon
  •   rippedbyrycroft ACV is the best tasting stuff...said no one ever But it does help! 3mon
  •   jon_torres7 I've actually started to enjoy the taste of ACV in some cold apple cider. 3mon
  •   ericaparrishslc I just heard how good this was! 3mon
  •   kelsadilla Good to know! how often are you going to take it? 3mon
  •   gretchenesmith @kelsadilla once a day for the next several months. 3mon
  •   brendaharrell1 Definitely going to use this! Thanks Dr. G! 3mon

gretchenesmith New friends but I already love this family! Notice there is only 1 of the 6 kids at the table. The rest thought playing in the dirt was more fun than carving pumpkins. #crazykids #boysanddirt 3mon

gretchenesmith We are almost completely gluten free. Zeke has several food allergies & I'm done cooking separate things just for him. We are now all on the Zeke train of eating as a family. This is my favorite brand of pasta. It's #organic has quinoa and has a hearty texture & great taste. 4mon
  •   andrewkhansen Nice! How expensive is it? I don't think I have much of a gluten allergy, but I definitely feel better when I'm off it, typically in the form of more energy. 4mon
  •   gretchenesmith It's more expensive by maybe a dollar a box but, definitely worth it! You can find it at many grocery ores now too, not just the health food stores. 4mon
  •   gretchenesmith @andrewkhansen I would avoid any pastas that use white rice flour b/c it gets mushy when cooked & white rice isn't good for us anyway. Especially for the blood sugar. 4mon
  •   rightnowraw 4mon
  •   kelsadilla Love that you share this stuff! 4mon
