gmateus When I grow up, I'll build my swimming pool just like this one: Dark, to maximize reflection and surrounded by green to maximize relaxation.
Have a nice week and never stop dreaming...

To change palette from the wonderful indian ocean blue to other colours...

A large proportion of Mauritian population is from Indian origins. When these people migrated to the island, they brought along their culture, habits and of course, their religion too. That is why we see so many Hindu temples around the island.

gmateus Waiting for the rain to stop
*
We went for a walk to Dinarobin (the #bchotels next door), and suddenly it started to rain.
*
This week there is an unusual situation as there is an anticyclone impacting the weather, but the few light showers, now and then are in fact quite refreshing.
*
I couldn't avoid to share this shot. I'm in love with the wonderful Indian Ocean color palette, that changes in synch with the sky in a magnificent dance.

I'm so in love with Paradis Hotel beach

gmateus I woke up very early and went for a walk. I'm very impressed by this huge rock behind the hotel, called Le Morne. So to get a better look at it, I made a shortcut through the golf course. When I was right in the middle, I heard a furious "be careful" with a distinctive French accent. An old lady was already on the hole 8 at 7 o' clock in the morning.
And..., I thought I was the only guest awake at that time!!
*
Th summit stands 556 metres above sea level and covers an area of over 12 hectares.
It's located in a Peninsula, called Le Morne Barbant.
This peninsula was notorious in the early 19th century as a refuge for runaway slaves.
Legend tells that when slavery was abolished in the early 1800s a police expedition came here to inform the slaves about their freedom. However the slaves misread the situation and ran all the way to the summit and many jumped of the rock and died.
Le Morne was nominated a World Heritage Site in 2008.

So if you ever come to Paradis, wake up at 7, play golf and go close to the rock to see it from below. But if you are brave and athletic enough you can go on an organized walk until and approach the summit with stunning views along the way

gmateus After a 2 days pit spot in Dubai (my neck is soar because I had to keep my head constantly up to the sky to see the many new skyscrapers that popped up in a mere year and half since my last visit), a lost passport and fine dining with several good friends, I finally made it to my final destination!
*
I was invited by @beachcomber_hotels to come and explore Mauritius.
*
First impressions: everything is so beautiful in this overwhelmingly green and blue island.
Specially the people, have been all so kind and nice.

gmateus No, no, no... i'm not in Marrakech again.

This is a temporary post of my favorite place in Marrakech, just to tell you that I'm taking over the @savoteurco account in the next 3 days. If you want to see some more photos and know a little bit more of Marrakech go there and take a look.
