girlsgonechild Yesterday, with our crew. This picture was taken when we first arrived on the scene. It was "Anna" and "Elsa's" first time at Disneyland and their minds were 1000000% blown (as pictured ) the entire. day. Also, I don't remember the last time I was there with my parents (high school?) so if felt especially magical and emotional and . Thanks again, #disneyland. 7h
  •   myfriendstaci Love it love it love it. Some SoCal ppl go to Disneyland so often I can't imagine how the magic doesn't wear off. Glad your family had such a wonderful time! 5h
  •   girlsgonechild @lulusjones Absolutely. I kept crying. Revi got teary at the tiki room because she was so excited. The whole day was a dream, even when lines were long and meltdowns happened... That palpable wtf-is-happening-first-time joy is just... if only it could be bottled. Impossible to feel anything other than gratitude in those moments, you know? 2h
  •   jem223 @myfriendstaci I am a pass holder and I really can't get enough of Disneyland. The magic NEVER runs out. Even when I get to go once a week. I still get goosebumps with all the beautiful parades and music and so on. It's really a dream! 2h
  •   agarcia189 Oh my sweetness - this photo made me teary eyed. We were there this summer for the first time with my 14 & 16 year olds and I think they had the same looks on their faces too! Disney Magic at its finest. 2h
  •   huinene We took our little one for the first time yesterday too! So absolutely magical and goose bumps is right! So many moments of pure awe and her mouth hanging open. 1h

girlsgonechild On my maiden voyage as a licensed driver, I confidently and with music blasting, backed my car out of the driveway and crashed into my dad's parked Pontiac. I laugh now but it was devastating at the time. And humbling. Very humbling. I have kept, this, my first license with me in my wallet for the past 17 years as a reminder that confidence is key but so is caution. I learned more on that day, in that moment, on my parents' driveway than I did, perhaps at any other moment in my adolescence. "Beware the blind spots, self. In your head, in your heart, on the road..." Also, "Get cocky? You'll crash." #mydiarymyself #tbt #1997 3d

girlsgonechild The Agony and the Empathy - New post on GGC. 2w
  •   rothland This is spot on my daughter. Cries when other people cry. Holds her belly when anyone/anything is hurt in a movie and in real life. When I'm sick she doesn't leave my side. I worry SO much about her sensitivity as she grows. If anyone has any books/articles to read I would love to pick some up. 2w
  •   sarahrosangela My daughter and I both have synesthesia. Like Revi, other people's pain and suffering is felt physically in my body. My daughter is 5 and was diagnosed when she refused to spell her name, Elle, as anything other than Eholle, because "E is mean and has many teeth, and L is wobbly and E will knock him over and eat him. H and O are sturdy friends who won't let him bully, so they sit there to protect him." Everything has an emotion. We have had a lot of luck with great teachers who customize activities and curriculum to her needs, as they would with any other child with "special needs." Don't be afraid to ask for those things at her school, as "special needs" covers a huge spectrum! Also, we found that we are extra sensitive to electronics, frequencies, etc. Not in a extra crunchy hippie way, but just that in times of high stress, they irritate our sensitive systems all the more. (There is some science to this as well.) 2w
  •   loandco13 What a great post! 2w
  •   rothland @sarahrosangela thanks for commenting. I've never heard of synesthesia and I'm definitely going to look into it. 2w
