gerkshinobi Saw this life size micro machine a Buck Rock Overlook in Kings Canyon. A pair of rangers live in the tower above for a few days at a time and radio in any weather warnings to the main site. Pretty awesome job if you don't mind climbing a ton of stairs to use the porta potty haha 1w

gerkshinobi been slackin on this account 3w
  •   audacityofthemind Thanks for replyingOh so you use two scanners? Is there a scanner that can handle two formats? And also is that your other account? 3w
  •   gerkshinobi @audacityofthemind ya everything on this one is iPhone only and the other is film haha. The v700 will scan everything from half frames to 8x10. the pakon is quicker and easier but only scans 35mm. If you have the cash there are scanners that will yield better scans for 35mm and medium format that I could recommend, but they'd be in the 3k range 3w
  •   audacityofthemind @gerkshinobi Oh ok cool thanks for the info cause I've got tons of negs from when I used to shoot both 35mm and medium format and was wondering what is a good scanner for both. And wow 3k!!! that's about the price of a digital Nikon I've been wanting to get. Thanks so much man for the info 3w
  •   gerkshinobi @audacityofthemind np man! if you're looking for cheap the Epson v500 and v600 are worth checking out. They just take a lot longer to scan than the v700 3w
  •   audacityofthemind I checked out the v700 just now and it's about $700 so it ain't too bad, and can do both formats. I doubt I would spend 3K for a scanner, I'd much buy a Nikon d800 with that money thanks again bro 3w
