I became a #cardio junkie, doing rounds of #speedrope every day and running 5 miles every other day. I wasn't gonna post this picture ever again BUT I think it's important to accept your reality and embrace your struggles.   •   gcmarquezjr Forgot to mention, my diet back then wasn't strict like it is now because I burned it all off from the cardio I was doing. Didn't have a balance of complex carbs and proteins but now that I'm learning more, I KNOW that I can accomplish MORE and become BETTER. 6min

gcmarquezjr Forgot to post this from my #training session last night. Lol set a new PR for myself on the #dumbbellpresses: did 4 sets of 10-12 reps, 70lbs/75lbs/80lbs/85lbs and I'm feeling the effects of it today. This might not seem like much to the stronger lifters but we all had to start somewhere. The body can adapt if your mind knows no limitations. So...#HowBadDoYouWantIt? #EyeOfTheTiger #lightweight 1w

gcmarquezjr THE PUMP. Trained #chest and #arms today and set a new PR for myself on the dumbbell presses. It doesn't matter where you start, what matters is where you push yourself. And we all have to start somewhere! Knocked out some #bicepcurls with the #barbells in 4 sets of 30 reps. Can't wait to kill my next #training session tomorrow! Remember, slow progress is better than no progress and for someone who's only been #weighttraining for a few months, I'd like to think I've made A LOT of improvements from when I first began. gcmarquezjr #LateNight post: been taking my #mealprep a lot more seriously lately and I've never felt better (although, now that I'm eating MORE, I'm using the bathroom MORE too lol.) Here are my go-to meals: baked #chicken with #rice and steamed #spinach. A balanced meal of #protein and both simple and complex #carbs. #Popeye is known for eating spinach and now I know why he has such huge forearms: spinach helps the body synthesize/absorb protein. Don't get me wrong, I love #training in an empty gym just as much as the next person but when you're surrounded by people who push hard and give it their all (not to mention, QUIET gym goers), then you can't help but feel #inspired and #motivated to give your workouts 100%. I'm drinking a gallon of water a day + snacking on fruits in between breaks at work so I'm constantly feeding myself and fueling/refueling my body (I eat 4-5 meals a day.) & I'm tired of taking a break from #training and coming back only to "start over" again so I'm determined to stay consistent with my progress and not let ANYTHING or ANYONE slow me down.   •   gcmarquezjr @gfxjay it depends on what your goals are and how your days go, my man. If you're trying to lean out/cut body fat, I suggest low carb/high protein + adequate water intake. If you're trying to GAIN weight and put on muscle, you have to constantly keep eating a lot of healthy/clean calories, especially protein. 1mon

  •   gcmarquezjr @gfxjay drink a lot of water and cut out carbs after 5pm. Try eating an apple before lunch (so you eat less and feel full longer) and/or eating an apple for snack. If you do cardio, I suggest investing in a speed rope. Much better alternative if you're not a runner. 1mon

There aren't enough words in any language for me to find the right words to say just how much you mean to me and how much I love you. For the first 12 years of my life, you worked double duty by being both my mother AND my father and back then, I didn't know just how hard it was on you to raise me while working low wage jobs and living in with family friends. We never had the best of circumstances but you made the best of every situation and you stayed strong through all the tough times.
