fslmama One month down!! Woo hoo!
This month was pretty awesome. The boys started basketball (and love it!). We had an amazing weekend getaway to Broken Bow. We had some very cold and almost hot weather plus some lovely skies (thanks, oklahoma!). Ate at some great local places. Did lots of yoga. Broke my phone and got it fixed. Thank goodness! And took a lot of my pictures at night which is better than forgetting. Haha! I'll try next month to get some in during the day. ;)

fslmama Just a few more days to save your seat for my Lightroom webinar!
I would love to walk you through Lr from import to export while showing you my workflow and editing images (by hand and with presets). Plenty of time for Q&A at the end.
A virtual swag bag for all who attend. And one lucky person will walk away with a VERY generous gift card from Pretty Presets for Lightroom! Trust me you want this!
And I know some of you are thinking why in the world on Superbowl Sunday. Well, I'm not a football gal. (I know! I'm even married to a coach!! haha!) Don't worry, just message me, and I will set up a new webinar just for my football loving fans! Date TBD.
Visit the link in my profile for more info!

fslmama Oh, Finn. You have my eyes but your dad's vision.
Big changes since last year. Good thing you look so cute in glasses and that we know the best optometrist in town.
And I'm excited to hear that you think you might want to be an optometrist when you grow up. I know you'd be a great one! #futureoptometrist

fslmama When you become intimately involved with someone who loses their child, it makes you want to savor every moment with your own.
My heart still hurts when I think about the two mothers who lost their babies in the last month. It's pain I will never fully grasp, yet can understand it in a moment.
I know those two mothers are finding comfort in the images I created for them. I never find the right words to say, but I can take a photo that will tell stories for years to come.

  •   thelilyfield I also have two momma friends who have lost children this month. It has shaken ME-- as the witness. Has me praying harder and asking WHY, Lord?? a whole lot. God, give them peace. Life is too short. And heaven is closer than we can imagine. 3d
  •   cindy1962 Yes. A hard road. Glad you were there for them 3d
  •   linsiobhan Oh my heart is hurting for a momma I didn't know, but has a girl my sons age, who was taken all too soon last week. I know these things have always happened, but it seems with social media we see it much more often, and we feel like we get to know these precious babies before they go. I hurt so hard for these families. I know your photos will be a forever gift to them. 3d
  •   lizkrenz You did an amazing thing for them! I'll be praying for them. Can't even imagine it. 2d

fslmama That moment you finish a really huge, amazing book.
@fslboys is a big Harry Potter fan. Tonight he finished The Goblet of Fire. He's ready to start Order of the Phoenix tomorrow.

fslmama I got a call this morning that a mother delivered twins who were born sleeping at 22wks and was asked if I could photograph the final moments between parents and babies.
My heart is broken for this young family who will never see their daughters take their first breaths or see them grow. They need to feel God in this moment and the many days to come. Help me cover them in prayers.
I'm grateful for friends who I can call before the sun rises to watch my children so that I can head out to serve these families and for other friends who think to share what I do for families in these tragic times and understand the importance of capturing these moments. And I thank you all in advance for your prayers and support. Never in a million years would I think I could ever or even be in a situation to be asked to serve families in this way. But all of this is 100% God.
I was in prayer the whole drive over asking God to help prepare me and to work through me, to provide my heart with compassion, my mind with words and actions, and my eyes to see the beauty of His creation. I made the turn on the road leading to the hospital just as the sun was rising. As it came up it was blinding, so warm and rich in color. I really felt it was the Holy Spirit flooding me with all the grace I needed to serve this family. No words to describe that peace that washed over me.
Listening to @ellieholcomb on the way home, and this song really puts into words what I cannot. "I take all the gifts that You have given and I stake my claim like they're my own. Will You help me when I forget to remember the good I've got is yours alone? Oh 'cause I don't wanna tell some arrogant story or let myself believe I'm you! I don't wanna be a thief who's stealing Your glory. Will You help remind me of what is true?" This ministry I do isn't about me. It's about God using me and the talents He's put in my life. So while I do thank you for your encouragement and support, it's really the glory of God shining through in my life. I can't take the credit. I am so weak, emotional, and undeserving, but that is where God comes in with perfect strength to help carry me through these times.
Cover this family in prayers

fslmama I had a sweet six month session with this darling little lady today. I had to get a picture of her in her chair that we used in her newborn session.
It's really unbelievable the changes that happen in the first year of life. Can't wait to see how big she gets in the next six months.

Ali & Ben tie the knot!
So excited and honored to photograph the first wedding of 2015. Today was the perfect example of a small, intimate day. Surrounded by family just as the sun was setting, reciting vows that left everyone in tears.
Prayers for a long and happy life!

fslmama This is the first year for the two big boys to play basketball. This little guy is just loving it. He really has no idea what to do other than find the guy with the matching bracelet and guard him. Even on offense. Even when the ball is passed to him or today when it bounced off his head. He's just playing defense till the sun goes down. Haha! Leads to plenty of smiles. He's having so much fun. 1w

fslmama This morning I was asked by @angelsokc to photograph this family's adoption.
What a special day! I just love everything about these sessions. I get to hang out at my old stomping grounds, see old coworkers, and most importantly document happy endings for precious children whose stories began in turmoil.
So many blessings. Look at that love in his eyes!

fslmama There is amazing power in the beauty of a sunset. It's such a reflective, spiritual time. A time to give thanks. A time to renew your soul. Trying to teach my boys how to soak it all in and give thanks for the day. 1w
