froedoutbarbie My favorite story in the Bible is the story of Joseph. Every time I read it I take something new from it. For this piece, I wanted to capture the essence of his coat...of many colors and how he was gifted from God with the ability to interpret dreams which enabled him to reveal God's plan. People hated him for this and sought to take him out, but if you're familiar with the story he was also very much so loved for it, and favored by God during the famine. Like Joseph, I'm just a tool using tools being used by God. #sketch #Moodism #froedoutbarbie 2d

  •   jrivaselcapitan Just like dreams flow, you can sense how you were just flowin' on this one. There are times when we are just a vessel. We are an electric cable just lettin' that living energy come in through our soul and out through our eyes & limbs. We are not sure what we are seeing, but through faith, we are okay with whatever is coming out...and the end result is a piece that is more alive than static...it has purpose, depth and is anointed. Live with passion...tear it up amiga! 1d
  •   froedoutbarbie @jrivaselcapitan So very true...not sure of what we're seeing or sometimes where we're even going, but trusting in Him and His guidance gives us assurance that we are headed somewhere great. To a space/place according to His will. "Take my hands, Lord. Guide my feet. Touch my heart, Lord. Speak to me. If you can use anything, Lord, you can use me." This keeps me going. As always, thanks for sharing your contagious energy, amigo! 21h

froedoutbarbie Something to show my appreciation to someone who's been nothing short of kind to my son and I during our transition to Nashville. I don't have a lot of money to buy people things, but I will offer up the best sides of me to show that I care. Per always, #Moodism #froedoutbarbie 5d

froedoutbarbie When I'm working I like to lay out other drawings while working on a piece to feel out the energy that they're offering up. For me, it's important to see how I'm moving. #Moodism #froedoutbarbie #wip 3w

  •   jrivaselcapitan Hey Amiga! My grandfather lived to be 104. He passed away earlier this year. He spent the final year of his life in a nursing home. There were a lot of forgotten folks there. As I walked the halls, I pictured myself in there. Amongst the many thoughts and scenarios that my imagination would throw at me, this same question came up. My biggest fear, my biggest hang-up about aging is the thought of no longer being relevant. The one thing that comforts me in regards to my abuelito (Spanish for "grandpa" ) is the fact that he was never alone. We, as a large family, put aside our many differences and factions and always made him feel that he was still needed. But what about those that have no one? They too need to feel needed. That's what I would want. Someone that would make me feel that I still matter...that I still have something to offer...that I still have someone who cares for me...even if it's a stranger. 3w
  •   froedoutbarbie Amigo! Your grandpa is awesome! And I know a lot of that can be attributed to how your family operates. He felt loved. My abuela lived to be 70 and selfishly I wanted her for much longer. Things like this didn't really surface in a heavy way until I saw others who needed someone. Thank you for your transparency and sharing this with me. We never know what life will throw at us so I pray you never have to experience the other side of the coin and always feel valued. 2w

froedoutbarbie Listening to Jill Scott's "Everything Comes To the Light" and it's funny how my subconscious is aligning with my conscious because the only thing I had set out to do was to paint with a light touch. #Wip #Moodism #froedoutbarbie 1mon

  •   jrivaselcapitan This needs to be on an album cover amiga! This one is timeless and says "yeah, I'm comfortable with my moodism". I remember back in Art School, they would always challenge us with "paint/draw/design an emotion" ...no one was ever able to hit it on the head. You're nailing it every time! Its as if your composition flows with emotion first, imagery later...your soul is utilizing your limbs to tell us something. Your work is deep! Go on with your bad self, and I toast this orange juice to you! 1mon
  •   froedoutbarbie @jrivaselcapitan That's something I would really love to do, and I know it'll come. I was just talking about this to myself just the other day when I was thinking about Outkast. But yeah, emotions set the mood...the initial vibe. Imagery plays the supportive role. You can raise questions or answer questions in that space. *sips tea* Lol I really just love what I do, amigo. It's my way out of no way, and I'm gonna tell my story. 1mon
  •   i.c.dawn_a1 Your work is so outstanding lil mama 1mon
