fosteraddington Eka Pada Koundinyasana. Taking a break from work to stretch things out. Being 6'3" makes arm balances a challenge, but also very rewarding. Also, doesn't my workspace have awesome plants? #toolry #fitfam #yogaeveryday #yogaatwork 7d
  •   bio_yoga I hear ya on the tall/arm balances problem. Do you feel like you're about to kiss the floor every single time too? 7d
  •   fosteraddington @bio_yoga yes. One of my primary problem areas is my ability to lift my chest (too many years sitting hunched over in a chair). That's why I have problems raising my head in poses like this. 7d
  •   bio_yoga @fosteraddington saammmee here, and in poses like peacock where strength is required in the extension of the legs. Really highlighted imbalances in my back. 6d

fosteraddington Urdhva kukkutasana. This is easily one of the most challenging poses I've ever been able to get into. I've much deeper to go to achieve the full expression, but I think I did alright on my first try. Thanks to my lovely lady @congruenceyoga for pushing me to get into this asana. Happy Sunday : ) 1w

fosteraddington Chin stand. I've been using as much ab engagement recently as possible as opposed to kicking up in my inversions and it makes all the difference. 4w

fosteraddington The physical practice of each asana exists to subjugate the ego and focus the mind and soul (true self) on now. When I first began my yoga practice I did not understand the importance of silence, taking my deepest breaths (engaging my Mula Bandha or root lock for the root chakra) and maintaining the pose past where my ego thought I could. Flexibility, inversions and a healthy body are all beautiful benefits of yoga, but not the ultimate purpose. Yoga is acceptance and oneness of your place in the world and with the world around you. Muslim, Atheist, Hindu, Agnostic, Buddhist, Christian whatever. Yoga is a universal language for all of us. I practice with artists, financial advisors, construction workers and politicians. And the peace we experience is shared during yoga. Come and sit. Come and be still. Wherever you are, you have the ability to commune and be at harmony with the Universe and the Divine. Namaste. 1mon
