  •   dannywatkins17 How far can a ham radio pickup and what kind of frequencies? 2w
  •   flightlevel330 @dannywatkins17 there are many many different ways hams use to communicate. This includes the use of walkie-talkies and a system of repeaters that are linked worldwide. Essentially, after entering a code into the radio's keypad, you can be linked directly to any ham anywhere. What you see above is HF (high frequency) radio. These radios rely on our atmosphere to bounce signals back down towards the earth. When I transmit the signal bounces off the ionosphere, back down to earth, back up, back down etc. This is known as skywave or "skip". It is hugely influenced by our atmospheric conditions, the suns behavior and weather. Again, you can pretty much talk around the world if conditions are good, without the use of repeaters or linkage systems. 2w
  •   flightlevel330 Lol sorry long repose...hope your heads not spinning @dannywatkins17 2w

  •   flightlevel330 Anytime Barrak, always nice to work you and other stations in Kuwait. As you can see, even in poor conditions, you're still peaking an S9. The other night you were 15-25db over 9. I applaud your setup 2w
