fayeperriamreed I got carried away taking photos of leaves in the park this evening, I love how they catch the light 7d

fayeperriamreed Feeling seriously slow this weekend, I am blaming this lovely sunshine! Today I have been particularly lazy.. I've managed so far a few rows of my sock, Stride by Clare Devine from The Knitter 95, and I made a batch of yummy seed and nut bars. Now drinking coffee in the sunshine and fighting off that feeling that I should be more productive, it's good to rest sometimes 😎 1w

fayeperriamreed I found his little fox brooch at Wonderwool Wales last month and just had to pick him up for my friend Emma. Made by the very talented Jenny Barnett. One day I'll give needle felting a go! Just need to make all the other things first..

fayeperriamreed Don't you just love finding things you forgot you had when having a clean up? Just found this lovely skein of Knitpicks Hawthorne stashed in a tote bag in my living room, I'd forgotten all about it! 3w

fayeperriamreed I've been meaning to post a picture of this sweater for ages, but it's recipient wasn't keen to have his photo taken! This was a 'first married Christmas' present for my husband after using the boyfriend sweater curse as an excuse not to make him one before The best thing about knitting something lovely for your other half is you get to admire them modelling it for you all the time! Yarn is Cornish Tin from @blackeryarns and the pattern is Albion from Michelle Wang for @brooklyntweed. 4w

fayeperriamreed Are you a magic loop or a DPN sock knitter? I discovered recently my sock stitches are way neater using 2mm needles, but there is one draw back - knitting for more than a few hours means I need to have a break of at least 24 hours as my wrists sieze up. I switched to metal needles years ago as my tight grip meant I kept breaking anything less than a 3mm, but I've been wondering recently if it might be worth training myself to loosen my grip by using something that has a chance of snapping. I've always loved the look of DPNs and thought they might be worth another shot, so I picked these up at #wonderwoolwales yesterday. They're very lovely, but the 10cm short length means I keep stabbing myself in the palm beneath my little finger! So far though, no breakages.. I just need to work on my holding technique I think! (Or buy longer needles) 1mon
  •   andknit Aww bless you - I bought 10cm by mistake once! Not even any good as toothpicks!! I promise you'll fare better with that extra 5cm - haha xxx 1mon
  •   fayeperriamreed @andknit hindsight is a wonderful thing! I should have bought the 15cm square ones that were calling me - next time! 1mon
  •   fayeperriamreed @littlemissjoey keep going with it! My stitches are also neater since switching from knitting English style to continental - done ask why! 1mon
  •   littlemissjoey @fayeperriamreed :) thank you for yeh encouragement! That's very interesting!! I knit Portuguese style (yarn around the neck) and am just tightening as mad now with a new found hope 😀 1mon

fayeperriamreed A year ago today I married my amazing husband After the party I handed my bouquet to my Mum to enjoy while we were off on our honeymoon. She took some photos before the flowers wilted and I assumed it ended up in the compost. At Christmas, she presented me with this little jar of pressed flowers, leaves and poppy seeds, which brought a tear to my eye 🙂Thanks Mum for preserving it xxx 1mon

fayeperriamreed New favourite socks! I'm fully back in design mode now (sadly can't share any of this just yet!) but I always need a 'down time' project. Recently I've enjoyed the simplicity of self striping sock yarn. Even now I still find joy in the colours changing and the excitement of how it's going to turn out, without having to think about it! 2mon

fayeperriamreed #Tbt to this time last year, when I was frantically trying to finish knitting my wedding cardigan before we got married on the Saturday. I redesigned the neckline and managed to complete it on the Friday, and then wore it for all of 10 minutes on the day. I spent so long pairing the colour with my shoes and petticoat too! Pattern is Marianne from Rowan 37 by Sharon Miller, knitted in Kidsilk Haze Marmalade 2mon

fayeperriamreed Really looking forward to swatching with this little ball of Blacker Tamar so it can tell me what it wants to be. (I like to think it has ambitions to become a new jumper in my wardrobe ) 2mon
  •   blackeryarns Lovely photo! Can't wait to see it. Your #CornishTin jumper turned out gorgeously 2mon
  •   fayeperriamreed @blackeryarns Thank you! I am rather pleased with it, I keep meaning to get a picture of it up on here but Chris insists he doesn't want to become an 'Instagram husband' It fits him so well, but I feel I should have something just as lovely for myself now! 2mon
  •   fayeperriamreed @craftiebee I always have to swatch - yarn has a voice! Plus it gives my hands something to do when watching the tv 2mon

fayeperriamreed So glad we don't seem to have a moth issue in our current house, though I'm still repairing the damage the little pests left behind from our old place. Saying that, I did have a dream last night that my stash had been sabotaged (I blame chocolate before bed) so I'm on high alert just in case! 2mon

fayeperriamreed Missing the coast recently and feeling the need to breathe in the sea air. City life can feel cluttered sometimes and it's important to have an escape. For now, yoga, knitting and appreciating the quiet moments. 2mon

fayeperriamreed Revisiting old patterns today.. This is one of my first designs - Venice. A really simple hat in super-chunky yarn, now revamped to include sizing from toddler to large adult and instructions to work flat or in the round. fayeperriamreed #hundertwasser socks done! After a frustrating slip up finding a couple of knots most of the way through sock two, I cut out a whole section of yarn and got them (almost) matching again. Pretty pleased with these ones! 2mon

fayeperriamreed Very excited about my new Hundertwasser socks! We picked up the yarn when we visited the Hundertwasser museum in Vienna in January and I've been itching to get it on the needles since.. As I was mostly knitting these in the dark last night, I was pleasantly surprised at the colours in daylight this morning 2mon
