faustinathefuzz Being here with organic food makes me remember my grandparent's garden in suburban Melbourne. They had chickens, fruit trees - pears, apricots, figs etc, they grew green leafy veggies, herbs, pumpkins, potatoes. These eggs reminded me of the mother hens I'd watch on icy Melbourne mornings, their chicks in a row looking for worms and insects. Seeing the vibrant colour in all the produce and the fact that every fruit and veg are different shapes and sizes, like what came from our garden, makes me wonder why I've spent so many years in supermarket aisles. Yes, it does take effort for a lot of us to head to markets, but it's an experience. And damn it's worth it for our bodies. To meet the the farmers, the growers willing to share their knowledge is a bonus. Makes me appreciate food a heck of a lot more. Perhaps a tad bit homesick/nostalgic A beautiful morning in Santa Monica. 6d

faustinathefuzz "I like being different. I like being special. When people come up to me and say, 'What culture are you?' they think that I'm something else and I go, 'No I'm Aboriginal' and they go, 'Wow!' and they go, 'What's your Dad?' and I go 'Irish' and they go 'Wow, that's a really good mixture' and I go, 'Yeah, my family's really good and special." - Jamira, Australia in documentary I Am Eleven.
Please see previous posts for details about my Q&A at tonight's screening and how you can see it in other parts of the world. 🌎🌍 iameleven.com
