eunicortiz Did you vote today? #primaryday #nycvotes 1w
  •   n0n3ck I'm glad you voted for corruption. ;-) 1w
  •   eunicortiz @n0n3ck voted for the team that actually knows how to get something done and not just someone who has cool ideas. Last year, NYC voted for the guy who had cool ideas (all unattainable with his power) and who wasn't the most qualified. Now look where we are. It's awesome Teachout/Wu have some great ideas, but they aren't the first to think of them, wouldn't be the first to try their hand at it and in the seat they are running for, have no power to execute it as a single entity. They have no clue how state government works, how to effectively get a bill passed or how the budget is passed. Maybe if they were running for senate or assembly, maybe. 1w
  •   eunicortiz Additionally, @n0n3ck, Teachout came to my dem club and was received very negatively. These are old prime voters. They know what's up and they see passed BS. They received her negatively because she goes around saying she has been with the community and has stood with us. And the response was "when!? We have never seen you before!" She had no response. 1w
  •   n0n3ck @eunicortiz valid observations but I can't vote for him b/c he said he was going to tackle corruption and violated that trust. We need ethical leaders who will fight improprieties not cause them. Hugs sister. See you on the others side. ;-) 1w
  •   eunicortiz @n0n3ck I get it - but I'm not a single issue gal. Let's see what happens! 1w

eunicortiz In 1968, the minimum wage was $10.25/hour nationally for all workers (when you adjust for inflation). At $7.25/hour, the minimum wage today is not enough. Government and corporations have created and allowed for this cycle.

The $15 minimum wage isn't a favor, it is finally bringing the wages for all workers back to where it use to be and it starts with government and legislation. You shouldn't have to live in poverty if you work full time.
If you think the minimum wage battle doesn't have to do with you because you make a salary, think again: salaries have gone down as well. It all starts with the minimum wage.

Good luck to all those striking today across the country, fighting for our future. #StrikeFastFood
