etothem Dear experienced gardeners, I'm looking at you @vtpolly, @jenny_grows and @helloyarn, can you tell me what's going on with my tomatoes? 7d
  •   maritzasoto They are becoming zombies. 7d
  •   etothem @maritzasoto bwahahaha 7d
  •   jenny_grows Emily! I have lots of experience with this one This is Blossom End Rot and conventional wisdom (and google) will tell you that you have a calcium deficiency. In fact, many times, Boron, which helps a plant absorb calcium, is what you're really lacking. The thing is that adding calcium unnecessarily to your soil can cause even more problems - so don't! I think that since it's fall, you should test your soil and get yourself set up for a wicked tomato crop next year. I've never seen a vermont soil with the right amount of boron, but I've seen many with calcium excesses! Let me know if you have more Q's 7d
  •   etothem @jenny_grows thank you! 7d
  •   bkdrose You can still eat them if you cut it off, but they generally have lower acid levels so I've been taught you shouldn't water bath can them. 6d
  •   jscalderin That happened to my zucchini 6d
  •   gregtitcomb I have no idea @etothem , but I can almost guarantee it's Shanon's fault somehow 6d

etothem I hadn't heard of the #NYT crushed #cucumber salad until @helloyarn posted about it tonight. After a quick Google search I realized I had everything needed to make it. Verdict? Delicious; everyone in the family loves it! I kind of wish they didn't so I could eat it all. #homecook 2w
  •   helloyarn This is the one I made, too, and I stood at the counter after dinner and hoovered the rest. 2w
  •   helloyarn Next up, the tahini and sriracha vinegar one. 2w

  •   libliz Was there any left? Did it keep well? 2w
  •   etothem @libliz there was only a little left but I wasn't the one who ate the leftovers so I'm not sure. 2w
