ethanollie I think I've reached my saturation point with pretty. Pretty food, pretty clothes, pretty stuff that all looks the same. I'm craving ugly, raw, off kilter, controversial. Things that might be hard to take, but make you think. I'm ready for a shake up. 2d
  •   ethanollie @houseinhabit it's tricky, right, because we aren't going to start selling ugly stuff. But where's the edge out there? Where are the people who are creating outside the box? It's just all so homogenous 2d
  •   tabor_vintage There are a lot of people creating outside the box. Many of them are not on IG and don't want to market or sell their stuff. There's a lot of edge out there, you just have to know where to look. 2d
  •   houseinhabit That's exactly what I'm saying @ethanollie I guess I'm just a bit bored is all. Sounds like you are little bit too. Though when you think about it, it's understandable. All Trends and design have their run of the mill only it's amplified here hugely. And we all love seeing pretty, appealing things. But, I do crave some kind of an edge and do feel I'm growing consistently more complacent in this forum. But like I said, maybe I just need a short break. OR, perhaps I need to push myself to seek inspiration in new places. Which you know, isn't such a bad idea ️ for the record though, your "pretty stuff" is always 2d
  •   houseinhabit Very Good point. @tabor_vintage a couple of the most talented people I know have no ties here. 2d
  •   junkempire Go for it on Instagram and the store! 2d
  •   benderphotos Damn. I was hoping this was for sale. 2d
  •   idadonethat Let's just go straight to stunning! Screw pretty 2d
  •   ethanollie @junkempire yes David! Help me find some ugly shit 2d

ethanollie Still a select few of these in the @mavencollectpdx shop. And at $25 each they make the best gift for your bestie or hard to buy for niece. I'll ship these too, but will need to do it quick. 4d
  •   axkastore Love all of them! 4d
  •   micscreek The top middle one (turq triangle) what size is it? And what size is the top right green one? Any that are a size 9? 4d
  •   ethanollie @micscreek there are some larger ones. I'll check on sizing for you today. 4d
  •   ethanollie @micscreek the only 9 I have is top left: the brass snuggle with two black enamel specks. The band with the plain green line going across is an 8.5z I'll have more after the holidays. 4d
  •   ethanollie @micscreek *squiggle, not snuggle 4d

ethanollie Crafting is what happens when I'm busy making other plans. Highly skilled, eternally unprepared. 5d
  •   vintagebyrd You just need some wire and string! I know you have that! I will post a pic of mine soon... You'll see @ethanollie 4d
  •   5gardenias Yes- just grab some wire at a hardware store & most plyers have a cutting edge for wire... You're not getting off the hook that easily! 4d
  •   ethanollie I actually don't have wire. Do I not need some kind of form to wire it to? I figured I could freestyle it @vintagebyrd @5gardenias 4d
  •   5gardenias @ethanollie - string might work- just use the strongest, thickest stems to start with... 4d
  •   vintagebyrd @ethanollie I think the wire just makes it easier as far as keeping it all in place, but I am sure you can do without. I've seen you get crafty... You don't give yourself enough credit! 4d
  •   ethanollie Btw @5gardenias I like your style. The tough love strategy is the only one that really works on me. 4d
  •   ponderosa_and_thyme Probably too late to the convo here but if you can wander around and find some flexible sticks/vines to weave together (grape/wisteria/or stuff you find in the alley and don't know the name) to make a grapevine style wreath...then you can stick your stuff in it, put it on your wall and add the little details... it'll stay pretty if you're not moving it around 2d

ethanollie For the past two weeks I've been dreaming often and vividly, and waking very early from it...something I never do. I'm exhausted. 1w
  •   aud_bod Awww, poor thing. I totally feel ya on that though - vivid dreams and poor sleep during the holiday rush is not a great combo. I'm pooped too! 1w

ethanollie Found not one, but two ebelskiver pans for our big Christmas morning group. Now who has the best recipe out there? 1w
  •   kdimoff my favorite!! i'll have to dig up don's recipe! we used to drop jam into the middles while they cooked. and of course lemon curd and powdered sugar!! now i want some too. 1w
  •   ethanollie @stephanie.cb I try and try, I'm just not lucky there. I guess that day I was. If I come across another, I'll pick it up for you 1w
  •   ethanollie @kdimoff I'm definitely going to try a batch with jam, so send it along if you find it 1w
  •   amberoakmoss Lucky find Kim! You should take a trip up the road here to seattle for some thrifting. I find them often in the thrift stores up here, must be the deep Scandinavian culture we have. The one I use and prefer is a griswold. But I have an extra jotul pan that I don't need. @secondandedgemont Amy, I'll send it your way! 1w
  •   shopsummerland My grandma's recipe! She always uses crisco to oil the pan and get them perfect crispy brown ;) 1w
  •   rhaine86 Is that cast iron? I had no idea there was an ebelskiver pan! I want!! 1w
  •   branchbirdie We put chopped apples and cinnamon in the center of ours 1w
  •   secondandedgemont @amberoakmoss oh thank you my friend!!! 1w
