estria Join us for #PROTECTMAUNAKEA sign making tonight at #ONOKona @konabrewingco in Kona. After going up Mauna yesterday we know they need things to survive the wind and moisture things like wooden signs or banners with hems and grommets. Our messaging will be pure #kapualoha nothing negative, not even #aoletmt 2h

estria Yes there are 13 telescopes on Mauna Kea, but there are way more structures up there. They all need to come down. #PROTECTMAUNAKEA 15h

estria These friendly, young brothas embrace their role as na koa (warriors) for the ʻĀina (land) and lāhui (the folks). Super inspiring and gives me hope for our future. #PROTECTMAUNAKEA 15h
  •   estria @thewilliemaze to answer your question. Yes they want knowledge. 15h
  •   thewilliemaze Coming out next Thursday... Everything I know belongs to the people! 14h
  •   nicolaslaget I am a warrior for Mother Earth. Because of this I believe in understanding our universe. I love astrophysics. I love telescopes. They don't pollute. They might not look beautiful to you but then again many people find wind turbines ugly. I love those too. Big picture people. Big picture. Telescopes are really not the enemy. We have bigger problems. 7h
  •   estria @nicolaslaget on the spiritual side, Mauna Kea is one of the most important sites on earth. It's not about how #TMT looks, it's about how on a spiritual level it's physical presence will forever close off a portal that connects all of us to our ancestral homelands (home worlds). This not something that can be thought about, it must be felt in one's guy by going up the Mauna and connecting. Western thinking people have forgotten how to connect, how to gain knowledge by going within, so they believe they need a big machine to look outside. 3h

estria #tbt to #MeleMurals at the last #ironmantriathlon Our mo'olelo (story) of Mauna a Wākea and Hāloa and the importance of the connection of heaven and earth. "Why do you need to keep looking out when all your answers are within? For all this time I have stood up to protect people (from the storms). Who is going to stand for me now?” - Mo‘oinanea

estria #zuckuss repaint. Folks have been asking why I'm on this #starwars kick. As long as I can remember, I've been into interstellar & interdimensional travel. I dunno, might have sumthin' to do with occupational choices in past lives. As a kid me and my life-long friend went to see Star Wars like 7 times at Cinerama Theater in Honolulu. #monsterkolor 4d

estria Mauna Kea as the highest portal to the Hawaiian Universe is the pillar of Hawaiian consciousness. The mountain altar of Wākea, the celestial father and progenitor of the Hawaiian race is the ancestral and cultural connection of the Hawaiian people to the mountain. This mountain is the piko, or the place of connection where earth and sky meet and where the Hawaiians connect to their origins in the cosmos. - @ashkibbles

Look to the creation stories of indigenous people. They are all the same: we come from the stars. Mauna Kea is the gateway for all beings, our link back to our ancestral homes. Placing the TMT on Mauna Kea will forever break the connection back to the ancestral homelands of all peoples, and will mark the end of an era. The telescope desecrates the kapu, the end of an era, the start of our own demise. Nothing mortal was intended to be up there. We’re allowed up there now to fight for the mauna. - Running Elk, Tlingit ‘uhane
Being that our connections to our gods were lost, neglected, for so long, the lake began drying up. Now that they are up at Maunakea honoring the akua of Maunakea, the water is coming back. This is a physical, real life reflection of the akua responding to the prayers of our people. The more we pray there, the more the water will come back, and the more that the akua will be able to see their reflections in this ipu that is Waiau. Waiau is the Mauna, it is the makahiapo kapu a Wākea.

The very water of Lake Waiau is a sacred being, unique from all the other waters inside the mauna. It is a reflecting pool for all akua, not only Hawaiian akua, to show them their true selves.

Our ‘aumakua tell us that the existing telescopes are leaking toxic materials, polluting Lake Waiau. Mo’oinanea, the head of all Mo’o, can no longer reside there because of this. “Does (man) have to desecrate everything? Can you not allow one place to be sacred?” - Poli’ahu "Why do you need to keep looking out when all your answers are within? For all this time I have stood up to protect people (from the storms). Who is going to stand for me now?” - Mo‘oinanea

estria This is me all moʻo (lizard) out at Lake Waiau on Mauna Kea a year ago for #MeleMurals This sacred water goes down to the rivers and we live off of it. Just to the right are old telescopes leaking toxic materials into this water, which caused Mo'oinanea to forsake this place. #protectmaunakea #wearemaunakea photo by @instaboto 2w

estria Mahalo nui to Aunty Pua for taking us up #MaunaaWakea to the site of proposed TMT. We learn so much from her and Uncle Kalani. #MeleMurals #protectmaunakea There is a new petition asking Governor Ige to stop the telescope construction. estria Meditating on #MaunaaWakea with my brother @808urban at the site where they tryna put the TMT. I "saw" his ancestors, they were biiiiig! I was just guarding him while he did his thing. Didn't know at the time he was meditating about his family. Anyway this. This! Is the reason we cannot build on the peak of the Mauna. The energy is so strong there and a telescope will block that connection between heaven and earth. What you can do up there, and connect and gain, is far greater than what they will see with their big, toxic telescope. Photo by @instaboto 2w

estria Mauna a Wakea is related to us. #protectmaunakea The building of an 18 story tall telescope on one of the most sacred places on earth breaks several laws. Not that we recognize the laws of an illegal occupying force, but we must protect that which gives us life and connection. Only those who feel aloha aina or meditate on the Mauna can fully understand the importance of protecting her. This is not something that can be explained to thinking types because it must be felt to be understood. For Hawaiians we are related to this Mauna in the same way we are related to Haloa. It is a great portal to other realms. It is the protector from storms, the source of water, and the burial site of many great people who have come before, Iike Lilinoe. Props to the brave souls who are able to go up there and block the construction. You are warriors for lahui and the aina. Remember Helm and Mitchell and their brave sacrifice at Kaho'olawe. 2w
