emiliebrehm It's been a constant stream of games and puzzles here today ... and, therefore, also a nearly constant stream of trying to keep baby from "ruining it." With this one, we were all able to be civil and coexist ... ish. 1d
  •   blakekahan Ah yes... those darn ruining babies I am familiar. 1d
  •   adventuresinbecoming Story of my life! 1d
  •   redbirdcrafts I can feel that stage coming. I'm guessing we have 2 months until baby hands are in the middle of everything. 21h

emiliebrehm The road leading home from solo grocery shopping. Chrysanthemums had been displayed in place of the summery geraniums and marigolds of a few weeks ago. Embracing impending autumn, I bought 6. Orangey-brick red. I usually drive my van with the windows closed, but tonight I had my husband's car with broken air-conditioning. Driving this country road, chrysanthemums knocking around in the back, the windows all wide open. At 60 mph, my hair blows wildly, strands constantly escaping from my ponytail and being whipped into knots. An old Dixie Chicks CD has been forgotten in this old car stereo -- I turn the volume way up and let the harmonies mix with the wind. Twice I pull off the gravel shoulder and step out into the damp weeds of the ditch beside a cornfield. I snap several shots of this sky (this sky!) and then remember the melting ice cream in the back of the car. After putting the cold food away and the baby to bed, my hair is still that twisted mane, my cheeks still pink and lips still dry from that liberating, harmonizing wind. 2d

emiliebrehm True confessions: 1. My five-year-old has been asking WHEN will I finally unpack the games ... I have been much too preoccupied with "big" house projects and plans, so lots of things like this have been procrastinated. Today was finally the day. 2. We have too many games and they aren't fitting in their new home (and I can't seem to pick any to purge). . 3. Yes, this cupboard door is one of the 12,362 things my kids have broken and it is, indeed, held together with duct tape. 2d
  •   blakekahan Drooling over this games stash! We have literally 3 or 4... Any favorites? 2d
  •   hildelion You need a lot of games. A homeschool / progressive school staple! 2d
  •   craftingconnections Yay!! Games!! (Never enough) 2d
  •   craftingconnections I'm also curious, which are your 5-year-old's faves? 2d
  •   hillarybowen love it so much! I don't feel bad about how many we have anymore! Rem loves games and wants to play constantly. 2d
  •   michelelehner We have this problem too!! 2d
  •   jlbear1961 Love your collection it is much more than games , I see family bonding and the way it used to be. Let's bring back game night. 2d

emiliebrehm My no-fear 5-year-old is dangling up above the treetops in this ridiculous carnival ride (I, however, am not a rider -- I partook in one semi-twirly ride and have felt nauseous for the rest of the day! ). 5d
