emandchloe #yogagirlchallenge Day 13: Be Fearless! I got a healthy dose of this one last week, backpacking in grizzly bear country. The rain scared everyone else away which left @jesguy and I camping solo on the back country of Glacier for a few days. I am generally very comfortable in the woods, but the grizzlies took it to a while new level. To the point of my body shutting down on the hike in put of fear - I could hardly walk even though the climb was very mild. Every ounce of my body was telling me to turn back, that it wasn't worth the risk. I shed a few tears, let @jesguy help carry some weight (which was not easy with my stubborn nature) and kept moving. I am so glad I did! It was an incredible trip and well worth it! Despite learning just yesterday that all the bear signs I thought I saw out there, were in fact bear activity, @jesguy just denied it while we were out there so I didn't freak out. Haha well, I suppose it worked!!! 4w

emandchloe Day Eleven: Get Shit Done! For the #yogagirlchallenge. Making to do lists is basically second nature to me. My work is in scheduling in self care amidst the tasks and prioritizing that as well. So today, amidst unpacking from the roadtrip, laundry, groceries and back to school prep I also managed to walk the pups, make a huge green juice (reunited with my juicer!!!), spend time with friends, play in the garden and nap in the sunshine. Up next on the list: yoga, meditation, dinner, fold the laundry, prep for tomorrow, snuggle my honey and get a good night's sleep. Much more productive and far less stressful, for sure! @yoga_girl 4w

emandchloe One in ten children suffer from sexual abuse. Four hundred thousand children in the United States fall victim to this form of abuse every. single. year. These statistics are horrifying and gut wrenching. As long as there is silence, there will not be change. Today is Trasdockans Dag (Day of the Ragdoll) in Sweden and thousands of people gather together at Medborgarplatsen to push for these silent voices to be heard and give children and adults the courage to break the silence. Everyone screams together for one minute. Young children who suffer from this abuse don't often have the voice to speak up, so on this day we scream for them. Today I raise my voice for Day 11 of the #yogagirlchallenge: Random Act of Kindness, but truly I raise it for the children. This. Must. End! @yoga_girl #screamforkids. emandchloe Day 9: True Forgiveness (one day late because I was off the grid) #yogagirlchallenge @yoga_girl Mary Oliver, you wise old soul. A year and a half ago a friend hurt me in a way that was nearly unbearable. That pain led me straight to my yoga mat, and I haven't turned back. We haven't spoken in over a year. Earlier this week I reached out again. I am not sure where our friendship will go from here. However, I intend to stay connected to the gift of yoga and finding strength I did not know I had in me. 4w

emandchloe Day 10: Get Creative! I thought I'd be posting a sneak preview of a few designs I've been working for Chris and @minnesnowtanice's wedding invitations today, however the universe decided to take us on a wee but of an adventure instead! After waking up, packing up camp and hiking out of grizzly country, we got back on the road. Before we realized it, we had driven a solid 45 miles in the wrong direction. Whoops! It always takes me a while to get back to driving speed, but today was a doosie! Instead of simply turning around, we decided to take a "short cut" through a state forest. With no cell service whatsoever we had to get creative using many different navigational tools including: a road atlas from 2004, a GPS, a compass app on the iPhone, ambiguous street "signs" made with paper plates and sharpies, and asking a man driving the biggest pickup truck I've ever seen, with a huge rifle propped next to him and a wad of tobacco chew for directions. (We certainly made him laugh, we were quite a sight to see!). We are now back on track, phew! We are a few hours behind schedule, but we saw some beautiful Montana countryside and a huge moose! @yoga_girl 4w

However, after more than fifteen years of struggling with body image, the thought of drawing attention to my physical body is literally on the bottom of my list of aspirations. In fact, it used to keep me away from exercising all together. A year and a half ago, I stepped into a yoga class because I was in a dark place and something needed to change. That moment transformed everything. I no longer want to let fear or self judgement get in my way of sharing something so extraordinary with others. Posting these pictures and allowing myself to be more raw and more vulnerable on social media than ever before is certainly still edgy for me. But, I know it's a step in the direction I want to be heading! Sorry it's a few days late, @yoga_girl, I've been off the grid, romping through these beautiful mountains! 4w

Day 7: Thank you. #yogagirlchallenge Loving today's challenge! All day I've been feeling deeply grateful for things big and small... To Mother Nature for the beautiful, diverse landscape I am so lucky to explore from the tiny snail we found hitchhiking on our tent, to the enormous mountains we are slowly approaching on our way to Glacier. For family and friends - I can think of more than 40 people near and dear to me that have made this 2 and a half week long road trip both possible and utterly and completely delightful. Let alone everyone ELSE in my life who I didn't get to on this trip! For yoga and meditation. For Chloe and Mallard, our hairy monsters who give endless love and enthusiasm daily. We miss you!! For mind, body and spirit. For the ups and especially for the downs that have taught me oh. So. Much! Thank you for each step that has shaped who I am today, and for each step to come to help me continue to grow! @yoga_girl this feels SO good, thank YOU for this challenge!!! 1mon

emandchloe #yogagirlchallenge Day 6: Start a New Routine - A few months ago we got a juicer and I completely fell in love with it! I started juicing everyday, grabbing handfuls of veggies from the garden, creating delicious concoctions and I've never felt better! I've noticed a huge difference stepping away from this routine while on this looooong roadtrip! I cannot WAIT to get back to my juicer in only 6 days! For the rest of the trip I am sticking with daily yoga, quality time with my love, meditation, adventures, lots of water, time in nature and sleeping outside : ). Not too shabby! @yoga_girl 1mon
