elizabethbarnett Knitting friends, please tell me lace knitting gets easier... Because right now I'm so close to giving up (lots of swearing) if the end product didn't promise to look so lovely I would not continue 4d
  •   stitchsista I'm really terrible with lace ... I can rarely concentrate well enough to stick with a complex pattern. 4d
  •   xmyfx I always learn and then say the lace pattern repeat in my head rather than reading the chart. I find if I'm trying to read the pattern whilst knitting I always make mistakes. Hang in there! 4d
  •   vicbond My first lace pattern I had to rip back numerous times-- I ended up using a lifeline, in fact! Most useful for me is to learn how to 'read' your yarn, that way you won't need to count stitches and rows etc., but can just look and see what needs to happen next. If that makes any sense at all?... 4d
  •   lifeinonechord I have had same frustrating time. I find it's a little easier if the wool will pull out easily and knit again ie. fine mohair is awful. Hang in there 4d
  •   carolyn_hope_ Reading the pattern is less mind numbing than reading the chart for me. It gets easier, but it still requires so much focus. 4d
  •   elizabethbarnett Thanks Bon @bonnie.j.w 4d
  •   elizabethbarnett @vicbond @xmyfx @astitchtoofew @tomodachiwendymac @stitchsista @lifeineonechord @carolyn_hope_ I think I've got it now! Thanks for the encouragement and tips. A life line! I didn't even know what one was but oh my goodness what a great idea! Am totally going to use it every now and then for reassurance! I think I've memorised the pattern now too so it'll be quicker from here on in :) 4d
  •   vicbond Yes, funny that, the moment I started using a lifeline I found I no longer needed it!... 4d

elizabethbarnett Im so proud of today's harvest!Pretty good for our small urban garden. (I had to save these tomatoes from small person) ️🌞 1w
  •   katiacarletti All good ideas! I'm thinking of waiting till the seeds grow and then hopefully just letting some go back into the soil for more fennel, and keeping some for chutney making etc 1w
  •   elizabethbarnett Yes I'm doing that too. I have mostly all fennel and dill gone to flower in my garden and tommies that are almost finished... Am dreaming of what to plant next @katiacarletti xx 1w
  •   elizabethbarnett @brydiedyson ha ha so funny we both "harvested" today! I'm sure your autumn harvest will outdo mine hands down. X 1w
  •   katiacarletti I just replanted tomatoes and basil- I only just found out you can do a second round of tomatoes!! 1w
  •   bonnie.j.w Oh wow @elizabethbarnett I am so impressed! 1w
