elenalong God I love little girls. Tutus. Leg warmers. Dresses. Beanies. Cora only had one pair of gloves so she shared. "One for Gabawella. One for me." After they got dressed they just had to go for a walk. @candacebane said they looked like Jim Carrey in Ace Ventura. 5d

elenalong G hung out with #blazinbill at this morning's Boys and Girls Club Flag football games. At first she was sweet, hugging him and giving high fives. Then she got sassy and untied his shoes. 6d
  •   cksmithie Well today something was stinky in the store. I asked G if he did it...he turned around and pointed at some guy and said "no he fawted!" It could be worse. @elenalong 6d

elenalong This is the pose I get when I ask her to please help me model the new hat I knit. Maybe @jetsph and @timholtzclaw will have better photo luck with their baby girl? Mine is clearly too ridiculous for modeling. #knit #bonnet #handmade #etsy 1w

elenalong Ayurveda, the ancient science of wellness, explains that there are three fundamental energies that shape our nature, known as The Doshas. They are Vata (Wind), Pitta (Fire) and Kapha (Earth). According to Ayurveda, we each have a unique proportion of these three energies that govern the characteristics of our body and mind, and most of us have one energy that prevails. It is important to know which Dosha is dominant in a person, and then, through diet and daily routines, work to keep one’s Dosha balanced for optimal wellness. Go to www.rockonefitness.com to take a quiz to find out which energy is dominant in your body, and read about what to do to keep your Dosha from becoming deranged. 1w

elenalong One day, a few months ago I was teaching a kid’s yoga class and I asked the kids “If you could do ANYTHING for one day, what would you do?” They all made cute little thinking faces and I was anticipating them saying things like “I would go to Disneyland!” or “I would go shopping at Toys R Us!” Then, one by one, they each raised their hand and shared with me what they would do with their dream day. And I was simply amazed...
Children know that there are spectacular little moments hidden in between the big exciting moments. Yoga teaches us what these children already know. Yoga teaches us to be mindful of every moment and to slow down so that we can be aware of every little thing. The spectacular moments in our yoga practice don’t necessarily come from doing the amazing poses. Yes, doing a handstand in the middle of the room is pretty spectacular, just as Disneyland is pretty spectacular. But the true specialness of yoga, the heart of the practice, comes from what happens in between the poses.

elenalong My 88 year-old Grandfather playing play-doh with Gabriella. He's an amazing sculptor and we have lots of his statues in the house. While G was playing, he said "Eh, what's this?" She said "It's Play-Doh Grandpa Russo. Here...have fun." Just over a year ago Grandpa had heart surgery and, although the surgery was successful, problems with his other organs led him into the ICU. He almost died and has spent the last 10 months recovering. It's such a beautiful blessing that today he's standing in my mom's house, playing with my kid. #LOVE 3w

elenalong The last day for #yogabreastcancerchallenge is meditation. I took some time early this morning to sit and simply breathe. If you're not sure what to do, a mantra as simple as "I am breathing in...I am breathing out..." is a wonderful way to start.
Thank you to hosts @yogaone1 and @leah.simmons for this challenge. I lost my grandma to breast (and lung) cancer, and Gabriella's grandma had it, and beat it. I'm sure most of us have been touched by it in some way. God bless those that support research of cancer (and all illnesses). Happy Friday.
